Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 237
The next day, Flinx fetched Arnel and his siblings early in the morning.
Arnel’s brother was a sixteen-year-old boy named Adonis, while his sister, Amelia, was eighteen.
Arnel had disappeared from their lives for four years. Their parents were already old, and they had been greatly affected by Arnel’s disappearance, causing their health to deteriorate. A couple of years ago, Arnel’s parents passed away.
Arnel’s family was from the Philippines, and both Adonis and Amelia had stayed with relatives. They were treated like close family members, as was common among people from Southeast Asia.
The issue was that both siblings had an independent streak. It didn’t help that Adonis believed Arnel was still alive, even though Amelia repeatedly insisted that the person Adonis was talking to over the internet was a scammer.
Amelia began focusing her attention on Adonis after Arnel’s younger brothers became involved with members of gangs. Since Arnel had been one of the key factors preventing Adonis from fully committing himself to a gang, Amelia allowed Adonis to continue talking with the supposed scammer pretending to be their eldest brother.
Not that she could have done anything if Adonis had insisted on continuing to communicate with Arnel.
When Amelia turned eighteen, she and Adonis separated from their relatives so that she could take Adonis away from the gang that kept circling Arnel’s youngest sibling.
Amelia worked hard to provide for herself and Adonis, but their lives remained difficult.
Arnel was twenty-six when the Torbal Slavers kidnapped him. When he returned to Earth four years later, he was already thirty.
He had never kept his situation from Adonis. He told his brother everything, including the gory details.
Arnel admitted that it was probably hurting Adonis to hear his stories, but it had been the only thing keeping him sane while the Torbal Slavers were torturing him.
Adonis also kept Amelia informed of everything Arnel had been telling him. Eventually, Amelia began chatting with Arnel herself so she could reprimand him for telling her brother such dark things.
The only reason Amelia didn’t report Arnel’s communication with Adonis as some kind of predatory behavior was that Adonis begged her not to do so. He even threatened to join a gang if she did.
When Arnel finally returned home, he was glad that both Adonis and Amelia still remembered his face.
Adonis immediately became close to his older brother, but Amelia took longer to accept him. She still blamed Arnel for disappearing and causing their parents’ deaths.
She couldn’t bring herself to believe that Arnel had actually been kidnapped by slavers and taken to another world.
At least the wealth Arnel had brought back allowed their lives to take a turn for the better.
When Arnel showed Amelia proof by asking Paul to demonstrate some of the magic items they had received from the wild dungeon, she finally began to believe them.
Then she remembered the terrible things that had been done to Arnel by the slavers.
When Paul and Mark confirmed that everything Arnel had told her was true, Amelia broke down. The grief that followed nearly drove her insane.
The fact that her brother had suffered unimaginable atrocities at the hands of his kidnappers, and that she hadn’t believed him when he returned, made her blame herself.
Arnel, however, kept reassuring her that she shouldn’t blame herself.
To keep his siblings’ minds away from the dark things that had happened to him, Arnel focused on the aspects of the other world that made it magical.
First, he told them about the transmigration system and the class he had received. He told them about the System Shopping Site, the dungeons, and the monsters that allowed them to level up and become more powerful.
He also told them about the mana stones that dropped from monsters and how they could be used as currency to purchase things from the System Shopping Site.
Adonis was disappointed when Arnel told them that they had lost the transmigration system because Earth had stripped them of it. Earth was still unawakened, and it was subconsciously removing anything on the planet that contained alien mana.
Arnel eventually told them that he intended to return to Ilioven and wanted to bring his siblings with him.
The advantages the system could provide, and the power of the class he would possess, were so tremendous that returning was inevitable.
He also shared his hope that once they were in Ilioven, his siblings might be able to receive classes as well.
A class would give them extremely long lifespans, to the point that they might still be alive when Earth awakened, and they could return without having their transmigration systems and classes stripped away again.
Adonis was young enough to be enamored with the concept of magic and classes that could make him powerful enough to fight monsters.
Amelia, meanwhile, still felt guilty enough for not believing Arnel.
Because of that, they immediately agreed to join him when he eventually returned to Ilioven.
When news arrived that the government had started turning its attention toward them, Arnel decided it was time for him and his siblings to leave for Ilioven.
Flinx fetched Arnel and his siblings from Earth, and the moment they arrived at the compound, their eyes widened at the beauty of their new home.
Arnel already knew where his tower was located, so he brought his brother and sister there.
When they saw their new home, Flinx was amused when Adonis asked his brother if they were rich.
Arnel told him that they would be.
He had already regained his transmigration system and would soon be able to delve into dungeons and earn the mana coins they could use to purchase anything they wanted.
Just like Samuel and Andrew, Flinx handed Arnel one hundred medium-level mana stones as their initial spending funds.
They immediately started their shopping spree.
Before long, their tower was filled with modern electrical gadgets, including a washer and dryer, a huge refrigerator, a gigantic television set, a DVD player, several game consoles, a desktop computer, laptops, and more. Arnel had to purchase a large enough generator that could power all of the devices and would soon start implementing the solar panels that experts that Paul and Mark had hired to design for them.
The only downside was that none of their gadgets had access to the internet.
Adonis didn’t seem to mind. He could still play games on the consoles and computer using the game CDs they purchased through Arnel’s System Shopping Site.
Flinx was extremely surprised when Arnel even bought supercars for Adonis and Amelia.
When Flinx told them about Andrew and Samuel’s family members’ decision to purchase furniture from local carpenters, they declined the idea and instead began filling their towers with everything they could purchase from Arnel’s System Shopping Site.
Eventually, Arnel asked Flinx for another one hundred medium-level mana stones, promising that he would repay him as soon as he was able to delve into dungeons.
Flinx told Arnel that he didn’t need to worry about it because he still had plenty of mana stones left.
Even so, Flinx could tell from Arnel’s expression that the man would strive to repay him the moment he earned enough mana stones.
All of this happened within a single day.
Flinx was able to observe Arnel and his siblings because Paul had sent him a message informing him that Arnold and his family would be traveling to Ilioven the following day instead of that day.
When evening arrived, Arnel’s siblings finally met Andrew, Samuel, and their family members.
Andrew’s son and Arnel’s brother naturally began hanging out with each other, while Amelia was quickly drawn into a conversation with Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s mother.
The three women almost looked like they were the same age.
The men found the situation amusing, especially when Samuel’s father commented that he couldn’t wait for Flinx to cast the youth spell on him.
It was becoming awkward for him to continue spending time with his wife while he looked like an old man beside her youthful appearance, to the point that he looked old enough to be her grandfather.
Amelia was flabbergasted when she learned that the beautiful young woman she had assumed was around her age was actually Samuel’s mother, who was more than sixty years old and had only regained her youth through one of Flinx’s spells.
