Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 236
Flinx learned that Andrew and Samuel’s families were expecting things to be delivered to the compound over the next several days and weeks. Apparently, Olivia had left her shop in the hands of her shop girls so she could accompany Samuel and Andrew’s family members while they toured Ilioven.
Olivia led them to a furniture shop, where Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s mother became enamored with the wooden furniture made by the local carpenters. According to them, the artistry and techniques used to make the furniture were truly high-end and could already be considered works of art.
They were of the opinion that if any of these pieces were brought to Earth, they would be praised to the heavens.
Because of that, they decided that instead of buying furniture through Andrew and Samuel’s System Shopping Site, which they had started referring to as "online Ikea," they would purchase furniture made by the local carpenters.
There was no way for Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s parents to see the items available on the System Shopping Site, meaning they had to rely on Andrew and Samuel’s descriptions. This made shopping feel more like a chore than something they could actually enjoy.
That was why they spent the entire day outside. The actual identity registration only took about an hour, while the rest of the time was spent shopping.
The one who suffered the most was Samuel’s father. They had to walk around quite a lot, and since Samuel’s mother had regained her youthful energy, Samuel’s father was the only one who couldn’t keep up.
Samuel had to use a car so that his father could continue following them without having to walk everywhere.
At first, Samuel’s parents were a little wary of using the vehicle, but they had already seen several magical vehicles traveling around the city. A car wasn’t so out of place that it would cause a commotion.
Furthermore, they had already sold a considerable number of vehicles to some officials and wealthy merchants before Flinx’s friends returned to Earth.
Flinx expected that they would receive some visitors from the people who had previously purchased the vehicles, since those vehicles still needed fuel, and Flinx and his friends were the only ones who could provide it.
Flinx shrugged and decided to let Samuel and Andrew handle those matters. It was also a good way for them to earn some gold coins.
He couldn’t even remember whether Samuel and Andrew had been among those who sold the cars.
Among the things Andrew and Samuel’s family members had purchased were clothes. They wanted some local clothing they could wear while exploring the city. They said that wearing local clothes would allow them to mingle with the locals more easily.
At the very least, the three earth elementals prevented any major issues from occurring. According to some of the adventurers they had spoken with when they visited the Adventurer’s Guild, local petty criminals avoided them like the plague.
The group had visited the Adventurer’s Guild to exchange some of their medium-level mana stones for gold coins.
Andrew and Samuel chose the Adventurer’s Guild instead of the Merchant Guild for two reasons. First, they knew how to get there, and second, they were already members of the Adventurer’s Guild.
When Flinx heard that they were all planning to continue being tourists the next day and shop for more things, he reminded Samuel and Andrew that Arnold and Arnel would arrive the following day. He thought it might be better to wait so that their family members could join them.
Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s mother looked disappointed at the possibility of delaying their shopping spree, but both Andrew and Samuel told Flinx that they would continue shopping the next day.
Both Arnold and Arnel were fully capable of acting as guides for their family members once they were ready to tour the city.
If Flinx was being honest, he thought that his friends would try to delve into dungeons as soon as possible so they could level up their classes.
When he asked them about it, they said that they would probably start delving once everyone had arrived.
Andrew said that it would be best if they made a solid plan or schedule for their dungeon delving so that the process would be safer.
Dinner that night was very lively.
Andrew and Samuel’s family members couldn’t stop talking about all the things they had seen in the city. Andrew’s boys couldn’t get over the fact that they were seeing armed adventurers simply walking around.
They kept saying that they felt like they were on the set of a huge movie, where everyone was doing their best to play their parts without breaking character.
What Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s parents enjoyed the most was that, even though they were obviously foreigners, they weren’t particularly unusual.
Olivia explained to them that since Ilioven had several dungeons, it had become a hub for thousands upon thousands of adventurers. And where there were adventurers, merchants would naturally be present as well.
That meant people from different kingdoms and even different continents converged in the city, so it was perfectly normal to see foreigners.
The Kingdom of Ilinestor actually welcomed foreigners to visit because they earned a considerable amount of money from the visitors.
During the next few hours, Olivia became an impromptu teacher, with assistance from Ambrose and Christopher.
Olivia told them that the world was called Demosia. The name supposedly came from an ancient language and meant "soil."
Flinx thought he had heard a different name for the world when he was back in Berdol Town, but Olivia explained that most kingdoms had different names for the world.
Since they were in Ilioven, Flinx thought it would be best to simply follow the naming conventions of the local populace.
Olivia continued by telling them that there were around four known continents, although there was evidence that there could be more.
She also told them that the name of their continent was Armuda.
Samuel was sending the information Olivia had been telling them to the group chat.
After a while, Andrew asked everyone to stop asking Olivia questions because it would be best not to bother her with such things.
Both Andrew and Samuel planned to hire a language teacher for their family members the next day.
Since it was still early, Samuel and Andrew’s families decided to try swimming in Pondy despite it being autumn.
When they tested Pondy’s water, they were surprised by its warmth, and they wanted to experience Pondy’s abilities for themselves.
Once they entered the water, they began enjoying the services that Pondy could provide.
Still, even though Pondy kept the water warm, the air remained cold. After about two hours, they decided to stop swimming.
Flinx laughed when he saw Olivia looking slightly outraged at the bikini Andrew’s wife was wearing. Although Flinx thought Samuel’s mother was wearing a modest one-piece swimsuit, he noticed that both Ambrose and Christopher deliberately avoided looking at them.
Once everyone left the water, they all began shivering from the cold and wanted to rush back toward their towers so they could take very hot showers to warm themselves up.
Before they left, Flinx cast a healing spell on everyone to make sure none of them would get sick.
Flinx noticed that his healing spell reacted when he healed Samuel’s father, which meant that the man had actually become sick.
It was understandable. Samuel’s father was in his sixties, and spending the entire day shopping had probably exhausted him. The fact that he had also joined everyone in swimming had likely pushed his body past its limits.
Thankfully, Flinx’s healing spell immediately cured Samuel’s father before the sickness could become worse.
Flinx didn’t keep it to himself. He informed Samuel and his mother that his father had gotten sick, but told them not to worry because the spell had already cured him.
Because of that, Samuel’s parents decided not to continue with their plans to tour the city the next day. Instead, they would rest.
At the very least, they would only need to wait a few more days before Flinx could cast the Wish spell again and turn Samuel’s father young.
