Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 235
The next day, Paul told Flinx through the chat system that the others traveling to Ilioven would be delayed because they needed more time to let things calm down.
After Andrew and his family disappeared as well, they noticed that more people had begun surrounding Paul’s manor.
The initial plan was for some of them and their family members to continue traveling to Ilioven one family at a time. Once they had secured Oscar, Chen, Rico, and Fernando, they would all attempt to travel to the other world as quickly as possible.
The next group was scheduled to travel the day after the next day.
Flinx told Paul that the delays were keeping him tied to the compound, but Paul simply asked him why that was the case. He could always return to the compound whenever Paul, Mark, or the others sent him a message telling him it was time to fetch them.
Flinx felt stupid for a moment.
He had thought it was best for him to remain at the compound, but he really didn’t need to. He could even return to traveling since it was simple enough for him to return to Ilioven using his Teleport spell.
He decided to remain at home anyway because he was somewhat excited about meeting the family members of his friends from Earth.
Flinx summoned another Rocky so there would be three Earth Elementals guarding Samuel and his parents and Andrew and his family while they moved around the city to register their identities.
Before they left, Flinx cast the Tongue spell using a higher-level spell slot, which increased its duration to several hours. That would allow Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife and children to understand and speak the local language.
They agreed that once they had registered their identities, they would immediately begin studying the local language.
Flinx was simply glad that, instead of dread, he could see only excitement on the faces of Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife and children.
The only issue was that Samuel’s father now looked like a creep because his wife appeared so much younger than he did.
When Samuel commented on it, his father became extremely angry, but Flinx and Andrew’s children’s laughter quickly diffused the situation.
Once they left, Flinx renewed the Galder’s Tower spell that had created Samuel’s and Andrew’s towers. He was glad that he would only need to renew the spells for another week before the towers became permanent.
Flinx also started working on Arnold and Arnel’s towers.
He was glad that he didn’t have to expend much creative energy designing their towers because the designs and locations had already been decided by them before Paul sent the information to him.
An irritating issue did arise, though.
They now had to speak in code when using the chat system because there was a chance that the people investigating them had already discovered what communication system they were using.
They weren’t doing anything elaborate. They were essentially presenting their conversations as discussions about a fantasy role-playing tabletop game they were supposedly playing.
It would have been easier if they had been using their transmigration system, but those who were still on Earth needed to use their phones, tablets, or computers to communicate with them.
At least Samuel and Andrew had returned to using the system.
While studying the designs for the towers Arnold and Arnel wanted, Flinx thought about Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s family.
At the moment, they were probably still treating their time in the compound as some sort of luxurious vacation.
Because of the Earthlings’ transmigration system, they had access to almost everything they needed.
He had overheard Andrew’s wife and Samuel’s mother selecting the furniture they wanted for their towers.
They were also planning the installation of electricity using a combination of generators and solar power.
When they learned that wizards had a spell called Mending that could practically guarantee anything they bought would last for an extremely long time, Flinx knew they had become even more particular about their selections.
What made Flinx laugh was that both Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife were a little disappointed that they had only been given a hundred thousand dollars in spending money on their system shopping site.
However, their disappointment quickly disappeared when Samuel and Andrew explained that delving into dungeons would allow them to acquire mana stones and provide them with all the funds they needed.
Samuel and Andrew’s family members were already aware that dungeon delving would be incredibly dangerous, but they had accepted that it would become part of their lives since it was the only way for the former dungeon miner slaves to increase the levels of their classes.
Dungeon delving was also the fastest way for them to earn a massive amount of wealth.
The fact that Flinx had already promised that anyone who delved into dungeons would be guarded by his elementals made the work somewhat less dangerous.
Samuel and Andrew had already selected the Wizard class as their first class.
Previously, Samuel had been a Fighter, while Andrew had been a Cleric. However, they admitted that those classes had simply been assigned to them by the system when they arrived in the world of the Torbal Slavers, so it didn’t really matter which classes they chose this time.
Andrew did say that he liked his Cleric class and wouldn’t mind choosing it again. However, he discussed his options with his wife, and after a lengthy conversation, she told him that the versatility of a Wizard’s spells would be more useful to their family.
Samuel, on the other hand, was given free rein by his parents when he asked for their advice regarding which class he should choose.
In the end, he chose the Wizard class because he had witnessed the powerful spells Flinx had used while they were delving into the wild dungeon Flinx had stumbled upon in the middle of a forest.
Once everyone returned from registering their identities as long-term visitors to Ilioven, Flinx planned to conduct some tests to determine whether his Wish spell could grant someone a class.
Thankfully, their transmigration system allowed Flinx to check the results and cost of casting the Wish spell before it was fully cast.
Otherwise, experimenting with the spell would have been extremely difficult. He couldn’t keep casting it blindly because doing so would turn the spell into a gamble rather than something he could reliably use.
Everyone still had not returned by the time Flinx completed Arnold and Arnel’s towers.
More than likely, after registering their identities, they had decided to tour some of the places in the city, such as Olivia’s shops and the other businesses in the safe area.
Flinx knew that Andrew and Samuel were experienced enough to avoid the more dangerous parts of the city. Even if they came close to such places, the three Earth Elementals everyone had started calling Rockies were guarding them.
After a while, Paul sent him a message confirming that Arnold, his girlfriend, and his young daughter were ready to travel to Ilioven the following day.
The sun was already setting when Samuel, Andrew, and their family members finally returned home.
Flinx had to laugh when he saw that they had used the Rockies to carry all the things they had purchased.
“We had to go to the Merchant Guild to convert some of the mana stones you gave us into gold coins,” Samuel said.
Flinx understood.
It would be better for them to have gold coins they could use to purchase mundane local goods rather than spend their more valuable mana stones.
They couldn’t simply use the mana stones Flinx had handed them directly since they were medium-level mana stones.
