DMS Chapter 233
Flinx thought the best thing he could do regarding his idea of granting classes to others using his most powerful wizard spell, the Wish spell, was to test it.
He would have to do it at a later time, though, since he had already promised to use his Wish spell for Samuel.
Flinx suspected that his Wish spell would see a lot of use in the future. If his theory that the Wish spell could grant classes to those who didn’t have one was correct, more than likely, his friends would eventually request that their family members be granted classes as well.
He shelved the thought because he knew that if he continued thinking about it, he would be extremely tempted to test it immediately.
Basically, he wanted to know not only whether his Wish spell could grant a basic class, but also whether it could grant access to the Earthlings’ transmigration system.
His current theory was that if his Wish spell could indeed grant a class or access to the transmigration system, he would only be able to do so for Earthlings.
The main issue with using the Wish spell was that it wasn’t completely free.
Thankfully, the only price the spell had demanded when he used it previously was an extremely long cooldown.
Samuel’s parents were startled when Flinx followed them into their tower.
“Mom, Dad, I need to talk to you about something important,” Samuel told his parents once they were all seated in the living room. Samuel had served everyone tea before sitting down.
Samuel’s parents waited for their son to continue, and Flinx could see that they realized he was involved in whatever Samuel wanted to tell them.
Flinx almost laughed out loud when he imagined their reaction if Samuel suddenly told them that he was gay and in a relationship with Flinx.
“The reason Flinx is here is that he has reached a very high level in his wizard class, which granted him a very powerful spell called Wish. I asked him to use the spell to grant both of you your youth,” Samuel straightforwardly told his parents.
Flinx had told his friends about everything that had happened when he used the Wish spell to restore the youth of the merchant woman who had helped him locate the headquarters of the Torbal Slavers, so Samuel took it upon himself to explain the details to his parents.
He told them that becoming young again would give them the energy to live happily in this alien world. Not only that, being young again would give them more time to discover how they could acquire classes of their own.
Samuel explained the advantages of having a class. Not only would a class grant them power and wealth, but it would also allow them to live extraordinarily long lives, to the point where they could count their ages in eons rather than years.
Flinx saw that Samuel’s parents were extremely surprised by what their son was telling them.
They didn’t say anything and simply allowed Samuel to present all the arguments he had prepared to convince them to accept the spell.
After around ten minutes, Flinx laughed when he saw Samuel’s jaw drop as his parents finally agreed to accept the spell.
“I thought it would take me some time to convince both of you,” Samuel said.
“If we were on Earth, I probably wouldn’t accept. But this new world excites me. Suddenly, I want me and your mother to experience its full glory, and being young again would allow us to do that,” Samuel’s father said.
Once they accepted, Flinx told them that he could only cast the Wish spell once at a time because of its long cooldown.
Samuel’s father then asked if Flinx could cast the spell on his wife first, and he agreed.
There were several things Flinx needed to test first, but he didn’t need to inform any of them about that.
First, he tested casting the spell on Samuel’s mother with the intention of removing forty years from her age. Both of Samuel’s parents were in their sixties, so removing forty years would return her to her early twenties.
Before the spell was fully cast, his system informed Flinx that the casting was possible, but the thirteenth-level spell slot would be on cooldown for three weeks.
That greatly relieved Flinx. The notification stated that the spell itself wouldn’t have a cooldown, only the thirteenth-level spell slot.
Flinx then tested what would happen if he removed only thirty years from Samuel’s mother’s age. His system informed him that the thirteenth-level spell slot would be on cooldown for only one week.
Out of curiosity, Flinx tested what the system would say if he tried casting the Wish spell on Samuel’s mother with the intention of removing fifty years from her age.
The spell warned him that the Wish spell would be on cooldown for two months, while the thirteenth-level spell slot would be on cooldown for six months.
After that, Flinx tested the other spell slots and was greatly surprised to discover that the spell would still work, but the cooldowns of both the spell slot and the spell itself would increase significantly.
Flinx noticed that Samuel was becoming nervous because it was taking him so long to cast the spell.
He admitted that he was testing the results of different ways of casting the spell. He then explained the details to Samuel and asked him to share the information with the others.
“You can make me ten years old! Don’t do that!” Samuel’s mother exclaimed.
Flinx laughed.
“I have no intention of doing that. I was only checking the results of casting the spell with different intentions and parameters.”
He then asked Samuel’s parents how many years they wanted removed from their actual ages.
Samuel’s father said they would be fine with returning to their thirties, but Samuel insisted that it would be better for them to return to their twenties.
When Samuel’s parents agreed, Flinx reminded them that it would take three weeks before he could cast the spell again, meaning Samuel’s father would have to wait for his turn.
“It doesn’t matter. We can spend the time waiting by renovating our home and studying the local language,” Samuel’s father said.
Once they were prepared, Flinx cast the spell.
Immediately, they felt the massive amount of mana gathering throughout their compound.
Flinx knew there was a chance they had made a mistake.
The amount of mana that had gathered was more than likely powerful enough to be sensed by the strongest wizards in the kingdom, and he expected that they might soon receive visitors from some of them.
When the glow of the spell faded, everyone stared at the beautiful young woman Samuel’s mother had become.
Flinx and Samuel laughed when they saw Samuel’s father looking completely smitten with his now-young wife.
Samuel’s mother playfully slapped her husband when she noticed his expression.
Samuel’s mother then asked him to purchase a large mirror, and he immediately did so.
She was taken aback when she saw her reflection.
“You said this change is permanent?” Samuel’s mother asked.
“Yes, but you’ll still age normally. According to my system, you also won’t be able to benefit from the same spell effect again,” Flinx said.
Flinx was a little disappointed by that part of the spell’s description, but it was logical. If he could repeatedly cast the spell on the same person, he could effectively make them immortal.
They then heard a knock on Samuel’s door.
When Samuel opened it, he found Andrew standing outside.
“Did you feel that massive energy?!” Andrew exclaimed.
“Calm down, man. It was just Flinx casting the Wish spell. He turned my mother young again,” Samuel said.
When Andrew saw Samuel’s mother, his jaw dropped.
Flinx laughed again.
