Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 232
The golden glow of the sunset illuminated the foliage surrounding the towers inside Flinx’s compound as they gathered in the seating area beside Pondy. With the arrival of autumn, it would normally have been too cold for them to gather outside, but the warmth from the pond, which was being managed by Pondy, kept the temperature comfortable enough.
Flinx suggested that they purchase food from their System Shopping Site to help Samuel and Andrew’s family members adjust to their new environment, but both men suggested otherwise.
Apparently, the cook and butler had noticed the newcomers and prepared a feast for them. Samuel and Andrew didn’t want to disappoint the servants, while Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife and children were intrigued enough to try foreign food.
While they waited for the food to be served, Andrew’s boys asked if they could swim in the pond.
Andrew’s wife was shocked. Since it was autumn, she assumed the pond would be cold enough to freeze, but Andrew explained Pondy’s abilities to her.
After Andrew’s lengthy explanation of Pondy’s powers, which culminated in Flinx asking Pondy to reveal itself in the form of a towering water monster, Samuel’s parents became intrigued enough that they wanted to swim in the pond after dinner.
Samuel agreed to let them. Pondy could ensure that the water remained comfortably warm, provide relaxing services such as water massages, and Flinx possessed a powerful Cleric class capable of curing any illness. With all those safeguards, swimming in the pond should be perfectly safe.
When they learned Samuel’s reasoning for allowing his parents to swim in Pondy after dinner, Andrew’s children clamored to swim as well. Since two elderly people would already be swimming, Andrew’s wife reluctantly agreed.
After a while, Olivia, Christopher, and Ambrose arrived. Flinx cast the Tongue spell on Olivia and her two brothers, then let Samuel and Andrew introduce their family members to them.
Soon, all the food prepared by the cook and his assistants was served, and dinner began.
While they were eating, Flinx reminded Olivia that the others would also be arriving with their family members over the next few days.
Olivia then reminded Flinx, Andrew, and Samuel to register their family members at the nearest government office as soon as possible so they could obtain identification cards and avoid any problems while staying in the city for an extended period.
The conversation at the dinner table remained amiable.
Samuel’s parents praised Olivia, Ambrose, and Christopher for their English, which caused the three siblings to look at the older couple with puzzled expressions.
Samuel had to explain to his parents, with Andrew’s wife and children listening, that Flinx had cast the Tongue spell on Olivia and her two brothers, allowing them to understand the language the newcomers were speaking.
Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s family were surprised by the utility of Flinx’s spells, but Samuel told them that they would eventually need to learn the local language if they wanted to thrive in Ilioven.
After a while, Flinx told Olivia that he would send a care package containing snacks and candies to David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet.
Flinx heard Samuel’s parents quietly asking their son who the children were that he was talking about, so he explained that they were the four orphans he had originally hired as local guides and had essentially adopted.
He told them that the four children were now studying at the Mage Guild to become wizards.
Apparently, being around Flinx had inspired all four children to pursue the path of wizardry.
Dinner that night took a little longer than usual, and because of that, the swimming session was postponed until the next day, much to the disappointment of Andrew’s boys.
After dinner, everyone continued talking about whatever came to mind.
When Flinx mentioned that he would need to conjure more towers for the rest of his friends and their family members, Olivia requested a tower of her own. Christopher and Ambrose also chimed in, saying that they wanted their own towers as well.
Since casting the Galder’s Tower spell was actually very simple for Flinx, he agreed. However, he told them it would be better to wait until Paul arrived because Paul would bring hundreds of tower designs on his laptop that they could choose from for their own towers.
He also told them that his power had grown enough that he only needed a week for the tower to become permanent.
Since Olivia was in the process of completing the purchase of their neighbor’s land, which would increase the size of their territory, they would have more freedom to redesign the entire area.
The main issue was that redesigning the expanded property would take longer than before because Flinx was currently the only one with the power to renovate it, since everyone else had reverted to level one.
Olivia suggested that they could simply hire a third party to demolish their neighbor’s house, and Flinx agreed.
Once the land was cleared, they could begin improving it.
At the very least, Flinx could use his Wish spell to simulate the Druid spells needed to improve the foliage in the new territory. However, he would have to wait for the others to arrive so they could guide him on which spells he needed to recreate the same beautiful plants currently growing throughout their compound.
Christopher also suggested that they increase the size of Pondy.
Flinx agreed, but said they would only begin that project after all the towers everyone needed had been completed.
Andrew then brought up the need for more funds to support everyone. He suggested opening some sort of convenience store where they could sell products from Earth.
The suggestion immediately intrigued Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife. They began asking what kinds of things could be purchased through their System Shopping Sites.
Samuel told them that they could purchase virtually anything available on Earth.
That revelation left Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s wife and children completely astonished.
After that, suggestions began pouring in about what kinds of things they could sell in their convenience store.
Flinx told them about Olivia’s Soap and Candle store, which led to plans to visit the store the following day.
This also made Andrew, his wife, and Samuel’s parents realize that they needed to learn the local language as soon as possible. In the meantime, however, they would have to remind Flinx to cast the Tongue spell on them before leaving the next day.
The discussion continued as they tried to determine which products could make them a fortune.
Flinx wanted to tell them that delving to the fiftieth level of the Dungeon of Mara would be the fastest way for them to earn a fortune, but then he remembered that he was the only one who had accomplished such a feat.
Suggestions for potential products continued to pile up, but Flinx suggested that if they were serious about opening such a store, they should first examine the local market.
The idea of roaming through the markets of an alien city greatly excited Samuel’s parents and Andrew’s children.
Flinx was glad to see that Samuel and Andrew’s family members were excited rather than depressed about moving to an alien world.
After their discussion, Flinx followed Samuel and his parents to their tower.
It was time to discuss Samuel’s request to use Flinx’s most powerful spell to make his parents young again.
As they walked, however, a sudden thought occurred to Flinx.
Could he use the Wish spell to grant a class to someone else?
