Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 231
At the very least, Flinx knew there was a way to determine whether Andrew’s children could become mages. They could bring them to the Mage Guild to be tested, but the issue was that even if they had the potential to become wizards, their abilities would be different from what Flinx and the other former dungeon miner slaves possessed.
Their power and classes came from a system, while any class the locals might acquire would be based on the same power system used by the people of this world.
Even if Andrew’s children possessed the gift of magery, Flinx doubted that Andrew and his wife would consent to letting them study inside the Mage Guild.
Paul and Mark were hoping that if a family member from Earth managed to acquire a class, they would be given the same system they currently possessed. Otherwise, if they considered the lore of the fantasy role-playing tabletop game they believed their system was based on, acquiring a class would require years of training in a specific set of skills.
With their transmigration system, however, the moment any of them acquired a level, they would only need to kill monsters to level up. It was the same principle used by characters in video games.
Their transmigration system was simply an enormous advantage, despite the fact that they lacked the bonus to increased experience gain that Flinx had luckily acquired when he used some sort of stone gate to escape the Torbal Slavers and the religious fanatics who had suddenly attacked them.
The moment Flinx saw that no one was observing Andrew and his family, he dispelled the invisibility spell covering him.
Like Samuel’s parents, Andrew’s wife and two sons were surprised by his sudden appearance.
The difference was that both of Andrew’s boys became extremely excited when they saw the effects of a magic spell.
Andrew held his wife and children’s hands, and Flinx immediately used his Plane Shift spell to take them to Ilioven.
Once they arrived, Flinx saw that Andrew’s wife looked dizzy, but his sons immediately let go of their father’s hands and started running around, inspecting everything they could see.
Both boys were extremely intrigued by Pondy. The water elemental’s pond glowed, and because the water was crystal clear, they could see the fish swimming inside it, their scales glittering like gems.
When Flinx told the boys that the pond was managed by a powerful water elemental and that Pondy would never allow anyone swimming in it to drown, the excitement on their faces grew.
He also told them that Pondy could do more than simply protect those who swam in the pond. The elemental could follow some of the swimmers’ requests, such as keeping them afloat, tossing them into the air, or even giving them a massage.
For a moment, Flinx thought the boys would suddenly jump into the pond despite the cold autumn weather, especially when he added that Pondy could control the water’s temperature and had kept it warm enough for swimming.
Unfortunately for them, their mother had already regained her bearings, and Andrew called them back.
Like Samuel, Andrew already knew where his tower was and what he would find inside because each of Flinx’s friends had contributed to the design of their respective towers.
Flinx saw that Andrew’s beautiful wife was looking around with great appreciation at their magnificent compound, which featured the elven aesthetics they had copied from the Lord of the Rings films.
Her appreciation grew when Andrew showed her his tower and told her that the beautiful elven structure hidden in the middle of the breathtaking foliage belonged to them alone.
Flinx knew that once they were inside and Andrew had given his family a tour of the tower, they would appreciate their new home even more. It possessed a magical touch that had been designed to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
After that, Flinx returned to waiting for the signal for the next people he was supposed to fetch.
However, he soon received a message from Arnold, who informed him that his trip to Ilioven with his girlfriend and daughter would be delayed until the day after tomorrow.
Apparently, Samuel and his parents’ sudden disappearance—and more than likely Andrew and his family’s disappearance a few hours later—had been noticed by the people who had begun investigating them.
Paul and Mark thought that delaying the journey would give those people time to calm down.
When Flinx asked whether it would be better to rush the operation instead of delaying it, Paul told him that they were still in the process of retrieving Oscar, Chen, Rico, and Ferdinand. They needed to make sure their actions remained subtle.
Emil told Flinx that most of them believed that if Flinx could remain on Earth for a long time without losing his transmigration system, their actions would become more aggressive because they already knew the kind of power Flinx could wield.
That was also why almost everyone agreed that, since their system allowed them to choose their next class, they would choose Wizard as their first class. The spells a wizard could wield would not only make them powerful because of the way their system worked, but would also make them incredibly versatile.
Once they reached the level requirement to dual-class, they could simply choose their second class based on their actual preferences.
Some of them still chose to retain their original classes, such as Paul with his Cleric class and those who had originally possessed the Druid class.
Soon, Andrew and Samuel joined Flinx while their family members remained in their towers. They were still exploring every detail of their new homes.
Flinx handed them 100 medium-level mana stones so they would have funds to spend on their System Shopping Site. The mana stones he gave them were equivalent to $100,000.
They had already discussed their plans, and they intended to use the funds to purchase things they wanted, such as technological gadgets. They also planned to install electricity in their towers using a combination of generators and solar power to ensure that their technology could function.
Most of the technology they purchased would be related to entertainment since some of the things they wanted could be replaced by magical items available in the magic shops of Ilioven.
Some argued that technological gadgets would be cheaper than useful magic items, so they would probably stick to using technological devices purchased through their System Shopping Site.
When Flinx shared the fact that the Mending spell had successfully repaired a broken laptop, it meant that virtually anything they purchased could potentially last for generations.
The only regret they all had was that their access to the internet remained confined to their systems. They still hadn’t found a way to share it with people who did not possess a transmigration system.
Flinx knew it wouldn’t be long before some form of basic internet was developed on this world. His fellow former dungeon miner slaves were intelligent people, and if they truly wanted to create one, it probably wouldn’t take them long to invent an internet of their own.
Both Samuel and Andrew told Flinx that they couldn’t wait to enter a dungeon so they could advance their classes. Both had chosen Wizard as their first class.
The fact that Flinx would send powerful elementals to guard them while they delved into dungeons meant they would be relatively safe while increasing their levels.
The main issue was bringing up the subject with their families.
Flinx shrugged and told them that the best thing they could do was be honest and point out that they would be protected by extremely powerful elementals.
Samuel sighed.
“There’s a chance my parents will try to accompany me into the dungeon,” he said. “They might argue that since Flinx’s elemental can protect me, the summon could extend its protection to them as well.”
