DMS Chapter 230

By the time the day ended and Olivia and her two brothers returned, Flinx had completed all the towers where Samuel and the others who would be arriving first could stay.

Thankfully, the difficulty of conjuring the towers came from making sure he could accurately copy the designs his friends wanted. Once he had the design firmly in his mind, setting up each tower was easy enough. If he made a mistake, Flinx would simply dispel the tower and cast the spell again.

Four new, beautiful towers had appeared in the compound, each one placed in the locations Samuel, Andrew, Arnold, and Arnel had indicated.

When Olivia, Christopher, and Ambrose noticed them, Flinx told them that his friends would be returning, but this time, they would be bringing their family members with them.

The next day, Flinx received a message that Samuel and the others would be in the park with their families within a couple of hours.

They told him that the delay had been caused by their efforts to keep their movements subtle. Instead of Flinx transferring everyone in one large group, he would need to fetch them in batches.

The first group would be Samuel and his parents.

After about two hours, Samuel sent a message saying that they were already in the park. Flinx didn’t delay and cast his seventh-level Conjuration spell, Plane Shift, which he had placed in his highest-level spell slot to travel back to Earth.

When Flinx arrived in the park, one of the two waypoint areas he had on Earth, he saw Samuel standing with an elderly couple whom he assumed were his parents. He didn’t see anyone else nearby, so he dispelled the Invisibility spell covering him and revealed himself to Samuel.

Samuel’s parents were greatly surprised, but Samuel simply held their hands and signaled to Flinx that he could transfer them to Ilioven.

Looking at the confused and terrified expressions on Samuel’s parents' faces, Flinx felt pity for them. They were already old, yet here they were, embarking on an adventure they had never chosen simply so they could remain close to their son.

Samuel told Flinx that when he had returned home, his parents had been incredibly happy to learn that he was still alive. They had never stopped believing that their son was alive because he had continued communicating with them over the internet while he was still a dungeon miner slave.

Their happiness came from knowing that their belief had been vindicated, even though many people had tried to convince them that the person communicating with them online was a scammer.

When Samuel told them that he planned to return to the other world because there was a chance that the government would capture him and the others for experimentation due to the existence of magic, his parents, who were both in their sixties, asked if they could join him.

They reasoned that they had little left to live for on Earth other than waiting until they became old enough to require a nursing home. Both of Samuel’s parents considered living in such a place to be a fate worse than death.

Samuel agreed, and he admitted to Flinx that the main reason he wanted his parents with him was that he hoped Flinx could use his most powerful spell, Wish, to make them young again.

He wanted them to live an adventurous life in Ilioven, and they could only do that if they were healthy and young.

Samuel still hadn’t told his parents about his plan because he had wanted to ask Flinx about it first.

Everyone knew about Wish’s ability to restore someone’s youth because Flinx had used it before in the world of the Torbal Slavers. He had done so while searching for the location of their enslavers so he could rescue them, and he had told everyone about what happened afterward.

When Samuel asked him, Flinx agreed. Casting the spell didn’t cost him anything beyond putting Wish on a lengthy cooldown. More than likely, the cooldown would also be somewhat shorter this time since he would be using a higher-level spell slot than he had used the last time.

Samuel and his parents were carrying simple backpacks. Samuel explained that their bags contained personal mementos, such as photo albums and letters they couldn’t bear to leave behind.

Everything else they needed could be provided by Samuel. Once they were in Ilioven, Samuel would regain access to the System Shopping Site.

When they arrived at the compound in Ilioven, Samuel already knew where his tower was located, so he immediately brought his parents there so they could settle into their new home.

Flinx offered to heal Samuel’s parents first using his Cleric spells to make sure they were both healthy, and they agreed.

He didn’t delay and cast Heal on all three of them to ensure that they had no lingering health issues that might cause problems in the future.

After receiving Flinx’s healing, the hunched postures of Samuel’s parents straightened, and wonder appeared in their eyes.

Flinx could see how happy that made Samuel.

He knew that Samuel felt guilty for living a stressful life that had caused his parents to look older than their actual age because of his disappearance. Even though it hadn’t really been his fault, the guilt remained.

Flinx advised Samuel to let his parents use the massage facilities so they could relax.

Then he realized that what Samuel’s parents needed most at that moment was rest, so Samuel brought them into their tower.

Flinx knew that Samuel was probably giving his parents a tour of their new home. The tower had several bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It also had a massive library that Samuel planned to fill with books because both of his parents were avid readers. More than likely, books containing knowledge from another world would excite them greatly.

Of course, the first thing Samuel needed to do was teach his parents the common language.

The plan to restore their youth would have to wait until Samuel informed his parents about it.

There were many things Samuel needed to do first. He would also need to register his parents with Ilioven’s local government so they could obtain local identities, but that wouldn’t be a problem since Samuel already possessed the identity of a Gold-Rank adventurer.

In truth, Samuel had lost his transmigration system and regained it again, causing him to revert to Level One. Technically, that meant he currently only possessed the power of a Copper-Rank adventurer, but they had no intention of sharing that information.

It also wouldn’t be difficult for him to catch up to his previous adventurer rank in a relatively short amount of time.

Money wouldn’t be a problem either. Flinx was willing to provide them with whatever they needed until they could safely return to dungeon delving.

As a matter of fact, delving into dungeons wouldn’t be a problem for them because Flinx could send a powerful elemental along with his friends to ensure they remained safe inside the dungeon.

Flinx waited in the seating area beside Pondy. After a few more minutes, he received a message saying that Andrew, his wife, and their two children were already in the park.

Andrew was in his mid-thirties, as was his wife. Their two children were eight and ten years old.

Like Samuel’s parents, Andrew’s wife had firmly believed that Andrew was still alive because of their continued communication over the internet.

Flinx did ask Andrew whether his children would have difficulty adjusting to a different world, but both boys were massive nerds. They were excited by the fact that the second world had magic and dungeons.

Andrew said that they couldn’t wait to arrive in Ilioven so they could choose the classes they would have.

That, however, would probably be an issue because, in truth, none of them had any idea how ordinary people could acquire a class.
