Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 229

The next day, Flinx remained at the tower while Olivia, Ambrose, and Christopher went about their regular schedules.

Flinx had already accepted that he would be tied down at home for the next few days, waiting for the signal from his friends that it was time for him to fetch them.

His friends back on Earth would be incredibly busy planning everyone’s transfer. Not only that, but they were also planning to rescue Oscar, Rico, Chen, and Ferdinand.

Oscar and Ferdinand’s families were already staying with Paul’s family in his large mansion, while Chen didn’t have any family in the United States. All of his family members were back in his home country of China, and Chen admitted that there was no way any of them would follow him to the other world.

It would have been different if Chen were married, but he was single.

Mark told Flinx that they had already hired people to fetch Rico’s parents and siblings from Mexico, disguised as a vacation sponsored by Mark.

It cost a fortune, but money wasn’t a problem for them.

Paul and Mark were also using a huge amount of their wealth to at least temporarily gain custody of Rico, Chen, Ferdinand, and Oscar. They had hired a well-known law firm, and that firm had an army of lawyers working for them.

At the very least, Paul and Mark were confident that they would be able to free the four men, even if only temporarily. That would be enough since they would only need a short amount of time to have Flinx transfer them to Ilioven.

Because of the wealth they had been able to bring with them from the other world, the agencies that had probably started investigating them were handling the situation with kid gloves.

They were still not antagonistic toward Flinx’s friends, but private investigators they had hired had informed them that a deeper investigation had been opened into the members of the forum who had initially asked for help rescuing them from the Torbal Slavers.

Paul was positive that nothing would come of the investigation because most of the former dungeon miner slaves had already been killed, and the cries for help they had posted over the years while they were still alive were incoherent and reeked of insanity.

It also helped that, the moment Flinx had rescued the remaining dungeon miner slaves, they had posted messages claiming that the forum topics members had made over the years were the result of some kind of fantasy role-playing game.

In truth, the doctors who had been treating them and betrayed them didn’t have any concrete proof regarding what had happened to them in the other world, aside from the magic rings that Oscar and Rico possessed.

Paul and Mark doubted that the people who had captured the four men realized that the rings were magic items. The only people who knew about the magic items were Dr. Mendez and two other doctors who had been treating the others, and they had only seen the wands.

Paul was hoping that they would assume that magic items only came in the form of wands.

Flinx’s friends believed that the agency handling their case was still being extremely cautious because they weren’t sure whether the psychiatrists’ claims were true. Samuel had a theory that those doctors had also been captured by the government and were being investigated because, in truth, they probably sounded insane as well.

All in all, things were tense, but they were not yet as dire as Flinx had initially feared.

Still, there was already a schedule for the people Flinx would need to transfer from Earth to Ilioven.

The first group would be Samuel and his parents; Andrew, his wife, and their two children; Arnold, his girlfriend, and his daughter; and Arnel and his two siblings.

Flinx would fetch them the day after tomorrow at the park.

The plan was for everyone to have a picnic there. Once they were sure that no one was monitoring them, they would inform Flinx, and he would immediately return to Earth to fetch everyone.

The main issue was that everyone wanted to bring a lot of their personal belongings with them, and they weren’t aware of Flinx’s teleportation limitations.

Flinx told them that there wasn’t any sort of weight limitation. As long as they could carry their belongings in their hands, they could bring them with them when traveling to Ilioven.

Because of the former dungeon miner slaves’ access to the System Shopping Site, everyone only needed to bring truly personal things, such as photographs and mementos.

After chatting with his friends on Earth, Flinx wondered how their family members would adjust to this world. They would need to learn a lot of things.

First, they would need to learn the local language.

Thankfully, they only needed to learn the Common Language because it was the universal language and was spoken by all sentient species.

After that, they would need to learn how to adjust to the local culture. Flinx believed that this would probably be the most difficult thing for people from Earth to deal with.

Things happened in Ilioven that simply didn’t exist on Earth anymore. One good example was slavery.

The concept of basic rights was also extremely different, so that was going to be another major adjustment.

Flinx thought that the older people would probably be able to adjust well, especially those who had grown up in a developing country or in poverty. The modern teenagers among them, however, would probably have the most difficulty.

He thought the best thing his friends could do was arrange classes for the younger members of their families, if possible. The benefits of having a class, such as a longer lifespan and the ability to wield powerful magic, would be truly seductive.

If worst came to worst and some of them couldn’t truly adjust, he would simply return them to Earth if they wanted him to.

Since he couldn’t leave the compound, he asked Paul and Mark what he needed to prepare for their arrival. Paul sent him a document containing the designs for the towers each of them wanted to have.

Based on the documents, each of the twenty former dungeon slaves wanted their own tower.

That meant the compound wasn’t large enough.

Thankfully, when noon arrived, Olivia returned and informed Flinx that, after offering a humongous amount of gold coins, their neighbor had agreed to sell the land to them.

Truthfully, even Flinx was flabbergasted by the price their neighbor had demanded, but since they had the funds and Flinx had already told Olivia that she could use the money he had been storing in the chest in his bedroom, acquiring the neighboring land wouldn’t be a problem.

The addition of the neighboring land would increase the size of the compound enough for them to erect twenty personalized towers.

Flinx was extremely grateful that the document Paul had sent included the locations where the towers should be placed. However, when Flinx sent him a message saying that their neighbor’s land had been purchased and the compound had grown larger, Paul told him not to do anything yet because they would have their designers and architects adjust the designs.

At the very least, Flinx was told to conjure the towers for the first people who would arrive.

Flinx didn’t delay and started working on the project that had been assigned to him.

Thankfully, Paul and Mark had convinced everyone to continue using the elven aesthetic.

The first tower Flinx studied was Samuel’s tower, where he and his parents would live. Samuel’s tower was incredibly beautiful, but it was also as complex as hell, so Flinx had to study it for a couple of hours before he became confident enough to conjure it.
