Chapter 627: Lavinia’s Magic.
Chapter 627: Lavinia’s Magic.
"I am talking to you, Mages from the Sky Kingdom."
And the Mages blinked.
This woman... could she read their minds?
"Uh... we... nothing. We were only here to protect you in case enemies get here..."
Evelyn answered quickly. Lavinia frowned at those words.
Weren’t the Sky Kingdom Soldiers supposed to stay away from the battle? Soon however, she realised it.
"So you are here to investigate and would only be moving in case of self-defence."
Evelyn was surprised. To think she understood the plan this quickly, that too, in that condition...
She knew the Princess had a sharp mind, but this was... still surprising.
"Are you alright...?"
Amelia questioned with a worried look on her face. Lavinia did not look fine, not one bit. She looked like she could pass out any moment now.
"I am fine..."
Lavinia answered with a somewhat pale look on her face.
"I just... used too much Mana..."
Amelia and others looked at her again.
"Just... what is that magic..."
Evelyn couldn’t help but ask.
To think that the spell that changed the course of the battlefield came from a Seventh Circle Mage...
Mind you, there were Ninth Stage Warriors participating in this War, from both sides. A Seventh Circle Mage was strong but even they had their limits.
To create a spell that knew the distinction between an ally and an enemy...
They all wanted to know how she did it and Lavinia...
"You won’t be able to do it, even if I did teach you."
She shook her head.
Evelyn and others nodded, honestly, they weren’t expecting anything in the first place. No Mage would readily share their greatest spells with just anyone, that too, without getting anything in return, and they...
Honestly, they had nothing to offer in exchange for a spell this grand.
Yes, they completely misunderstood Lavinia’s words.
It wasn’t that the Drakthar Princess did not want to share her spell, what she said was true, even if she wanted to teach them—
They wouldn’t be able to cast this because it wasn’t Lavinia’s spell alone.
Lavinia looked at the little creature standing in front of her, on top of the largest circle, with a determined expression on her adorable little face.
It was Bloom.
One of her Seven Spirits.
The Spell she had cast was the combination of Elemental Magic and Nerathis’s Magic. A form of Magic Lavinia created in case of emergency because learning Elemental Magic took time and she couldn’t be useless during that time.
So instead of focusing solely on Elemental Magic, Lavinia focused on her own Magic, altered her spells in a way her Spirits could help her cast—
Creating a new branch of Magic.
Lavinia’s own Magic.
And this was one of the spells she had learned, a normal Vine Spell that mages often used, only that in this spell, Bloom personally linked her consciousness to every vine. This was the reason the vines only attacked the enemies and not the allies.
Yes, it was all little Bloom’s doing.
She was focusing hard, her adorable cheeks had puffed up, her eyes were determined.
"Myuu!!!"
And she wasn’t alone.
"Kyaaa!!"
"Kriii!!"
Sparkle and Pyra were standing right next to her, motivating her with all their strength, the other spirits were no different, although their cheers weren’t as strong as the Lightning and Fire Spirits, they showed they were here and supported Bloom.
It was honestly quite an adorable sight, a sight that was more than a little distracting since Lavinia herself was busy casting a spell.
The Magic she had created was crude, there was no established system, honestly, at this point, she was only winging it.
This was the reason it was far more taxing than normal, after all, she didn’t just have to cast her own spell, she needed to alter it so Bloom, who could not interact with a normal spell, could interact with it and she also needed to provide Bloom the energy to do it.
It was... taxing.
And it would have been far less taxing if Lavinia was out there instead of here, but Kael had strictly restricted that, more than once.
He warned her that if she entered the battlefield, he would throw himself in the middle of the enemies with no intention of defending himself.
And Lavinia...
She had no choice but to listen.
She could tell Kael wasn’t lying.
So she stayed away and did what she could from this distance.
The Sky Soldier Mages continued to stare at her, at the spell she had cast, they tried to understand the Magic Circle that shined beneath her, they honestly couldn’t understand it at all.
And how could they?
Half of those circles had knowledge Lavinia had learned through countless experiences she had done with Elemental Magic, during her attempt to use Elemental Magic with Magic Circles.
There was no way even the strongest Mage in all of Nerathis could comprehend these circles let alone a few Sky Kingdom Soldiers who didn’t even know everything there was to know about the current existing magic.
So, Lavinia allowed them to watch as much as they wanted.
She could already think of ways she could use this particular situation in the future.
Then, her focus returned to the battlefield.
With her actions, the Alliance soldiers were now braver, their movements became more organised, the kill count increased.
It looked like things were finally getting better. The shield lines, instead of being pushed back, this time, they were the ones pushing back, the enemy was in a difficult position, the Alliance Soldiers seemed like they had an advantage, enemy bodies began to pile up, but then...
Bodies began to pile up.
And with that—
The enemy started using the piled up bodies as stepping stones, allowing them to move freely, under less influence of the vines and since that also gave them more movement space, and the higher ground—
They jumped over the shield lines and then started slaughtering the Alliance Troops without mercy.
