Douluo: Seven Treasure Pagoda? I'm Actually a Summoner!
Chapter 290: Ascension to the Divine Realm
Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Ascension to the Divine Realm
Jiang Bai nodded: "Mm. I completed my Divine Trials and ascended to godhood just yesterday. I came to see you today because I want to take you to the Divine Realm."
Di Tian blinked.
Take him to the Divine Realm?
Was it true?
He remained silent for a moment, suppressing his excitement, then spoke in a deep voice: "The Divine Realm’s attitude toward Soul Beasts..."
Jiang Bai waved his hand dismissively: "The Divine Realm sent people to seek me out. Judging by their attitude, they seem to welcome me—the new Dragon God. Furthermore, two of their five God-Kings have already passed on their Divine Positions."
"They know exactly who is by my side; in fact, one of their inheritors is Li’er. Since they were willing to pass a Divine Position on to Li’er, their attitude toward other Soul Beasts shouldn’t be too hostile."
Di Tian nodded thoughtfully. Jiang Bai continued, "Besides, weren’t you the Dragon God’s personal guard back in the day? So why not just keep following me now?"
Di Tian: "..."
He opened his mouth, intending to say something, but found that he couldn’t utter a single word.
Follow him?
Serve as a guard?
He was Di Tian! The Beast God, Di Tian! A super Soul Beast with a cultivation base of 890,000 years!
How could he possibly serve as a guard for anyone?
But then, he had a change of heart. The person standing before him was the Dragon God—the Supreme God-King. Moreover, by following him, he would indeed be able to reach the Divine Realm.
Very well.
He sighed inwardly.
"There is one more thing," Di Tian spoke up, his voice low and deep.
"The Silver Dragon King’s Divinity... did you take it?"
Jiang Bai paused for a moment, slightly taken aback.
Di Tian explained, "The Divinity of Creation within her suddenly vanished, leaving her so weak she could barely stand. She asked me what had happened, but I had no idea."
Jiang Bai fell silent for a brief moment.
He had assumed that the Divinity of Creation would absorb the Silver Dragon King along with itself before finally transferring to him.
He hadn’t expected that it would instead directly extract the Divinity of Creation from the Silver Dragon King’s body and bestow it upon him.
"Never mind her," he said, shaking his head. "She won’t be causing any trouble anyway."
In Jiang Bai’s eyes, the Silver Dragon King was simply a dragon whose gaze radiated nothing but clarity and innocence.
Ever since splitting off from the Dragon God, she had come to the Douluo Continent and remained in a state of deep slumber.
She was practically akin to a newborn child; although she had existed for countless ages, her perpetual slumber meant that, mentally and emotionally, she remained a child.
Her only instincts were to heal her wounds, seek vengeance, and bring about the re-emergence of the Dragon God.
But now that the Dragon God had indeed returned, there was no longer any need for her to take further action.
Jiang Bai stood up and brushed off his robes. "Get yourself ready. We’re heading to the Divine Realm tomorrow."
Di Tian nodded.
His heart was brimming with anticipation and excitement.
How many years had it been? How many long years!
He could finally return to the Divine Realm!
Nourished by the essence of celestial spirits, he would be able to break through rapidly and ascend to godhood!
Once that happened, he would be free to roam the vast cosmos!
Jiang Bai was unaware of Di Tian’s thoughts.
But had he known, he surely would have said: How could I possibly allow that?
With so many matters requiring resolution in the Divine Realm, how could Di Tian—the ultimate workhorse—possibly take his leave?
Expanding the Divine Realm, resolving the issue of Soul Beasts attaining godhood, fending off the Abyss... all these tasks, and more, demanded someone to handle them!
...
The following day.
Spirit City, Pope’s Mountain.
The morning sunlight spilled across the palace’s dome, bathing it in a golden halo.
The Six-Winged Angel banner snapped and fluttered in the breeze, exuding an aura of sanctity and majesty.
Jiang Bai, Qian Renxue, Bi Ji, and Di Tian—the four of them—stood together in the central plaza.
Today, Qian Renxue had donned a long gown of platinum-white; her golden hair cascaded freely down her back.
Upon her forehead, the mark of the Angel God’s Trial—an intricate weave of gold and black—pulsed with a faint, divine radiance.
Behind her, three pairs of wings—likewise interwoven with gold and black—fluttered gently, radiating an aura of both sanctity and awe-inspiring power.
She had already made arrangements for everything.
Imperial authority had been temporarily entrusted to Tian Yue. Although Tian Yue was young, several years of practical experience had honed her into a capable leader, fully ready to stand on her own.
Moreover, with the living Angel God herself—Qian Renxue—serving as its ultimate guarantor, and with Title Douluo such as Yue Guan and Gui Mei acting as advisors, the Empire was in no danger of facing any internal crises.
Qian Renxue intended that, once she eventually had children, she would send them down to the mortal realm to govern the Empire—viewing the task as a form of necessary worldly training.
Bi Ji stood at Jiang Bai’s side, clad in a long, emerald-green gown; she appeared both gentle and elegant.
Her eyes held a mixture of anticipation and nervousness. She had lived for hundreds of thousands of years, yet never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that one day she would actually set foot in the Divine Realm.
Di Tian stood at the very rear of the group. Clad in a black robe, his countenance was stern and impassive; yet, within his eyes, a blazing intensity burned bright.
Jiang Bai raised his head, gazing up at the sky.
"Let’s go."
He extended his hand and made a sweeping motion before him.
Space itself tore open, revealing a massive rift. On the other side of the rift lay a realm of swirling, ethereal light and shadow.
That was the direction of the Divine Realm.
The four of them simultaneously soared into the air, transforming into four streaks of flowing light as they vanished into the rift.
...
The Divine Realm—The Ascension Platform. This was a massive platform suspended above a sea of clouds, constructed entirely from golden divine stone and enveloped by an aura of celestial energy.
At the center of the platform stood a stone stele bearing three massive characters: "Ascension Platform." The calligraphy was vigorous and bold, exuding a magnificent and imposing aura.
At this moment, five figures stood silently upon the Ascension Platform.
The Asura God, the God of Destruction, the Goddess of Life, the God of Kindness, and the God of Evil.
Five God-Kings had gathered here to personally welcome the newcomers.
As for the God of Destruction, he sought to cultivate a good relationship with Jiang Bai, hoping to secure his approval for his plans to expand the Divine Realm.
As for the God of Kindness and the God of Evil, their sole intention was to hand over the key to the Divine Realm’s central hub to Jiang Bai, and then flee at the speed of light.
For the couple had already identified two "perfect patsies" in a subordinate plane of the Divine Realm—unwitting souls they intended to summon up to serve as their replacements.
The Asura God, too, harbored thoughts of making a quick exit.
His close friend and ally, the Sea God, had already secured his successor.
Shui Bing’er was currently undergoing her seventh trial; given that one day in the Divine Realm equated to one year in the mortal world, it was estimated that within a few more days—once Shui Bing’er completed her divine trials and ascended—the Sea God would be free to depart and embark on his exploration of the cosmos.
The Asura God, however, had yet to find a suitable successor, and thus felt an undeniable twinge of anxiety.
Above the Ascension Platform, the fabric of space rippled and wavered.
A massive rift tore open in the void.
Four streaks of flowing light shot forth from the rift, landing upon the Ascension Platform.
As the light subsided, four figures were revealed:
Jiang Bai, Qian Renxue, Bi Ji, and Di Tian.
Jiang Bai walked at the forefront, nine-colored divine radiance swirling around his form, radiating an aura of immense power and majesty.
Qian Renxue walked by his side, her wings—an intricate blend of gold and black—gently fluttering, exuding an air of both sanctity and authority.
Bi Ji and Di Tian followed close behind.
Bi Ji was a Soul Beast, and Di Tian was a Soul Beast as well.
Yet, the five God-Kings were well aware that Bi Ji was Jiang Bai’s consort, while Di Tian had served as the Dragon God’s personal guard back in the era of the Divine Dragon Realm.
Now that Jiang Bai had ascended to become the new Dragon God, Di Tian was, by extension, regarded as his vassal. Moreover, regarding the events of the past, the five God Kings were all fully aware of the truth; whether they were Soul Beasts or not had ceased to matter.
Consequently, they chose to turn a blind eye to the presence of Bi Ji and Di Tian.
The five God Kings simultaneously took a step forward and bowed slightly.
"Dragon God, Angel God—welcome to the Divine Realm!"
Their voices rang out in perfect unison, echoing across the Ascension Platform.
Jiang Bai swept his gaze over the five figures and nodded.
"There is no need for such formalities."
