The God-King of Kindness walked at the very front, her pace unhurried, her golden divine robes fluttering gently amidst the ethereal spiritual energy. She turned around to face Jiang Bai and spoke: "Dragon God..."
Jiang Bai waved his hand, cutting her off: "Just call me Jiang Bai."
The God-King of Kindness nodded slightly, readily accepting his request: "Jiang Bai, let us take you to your Divine Palace first."
Jiang Bai smiled: "Very well. Thank you!"
The various God-Kings observed Jiang Bai, thinking to themselves: It seems this Dragon God is actually quite easy to get along with!
They had originally assumed that the one inheriting the mantle of the Dragon God would be just like his predecessor—overbearing, autocratic, and utterly unquestionable.
Unexpectedly, this young man turned out to be remarkably easygoing.
They led Jiang Bai, Qian Renxue, Bi Ji, and Di Tian through layers of swirling clouds, arriving at the place within the Divine Realm where the ethereal spiritual energy was most concentrated.
Here stood six majestic Divine Palaces, encircling one another as if standing guard over the single, most magnificent edifice situated at their very center.
The God of Destruction halted his steps, pointing toward the central palace with a voice that was steady and commanding: "Jiang Bai, the one right in the middle is your Divine Palace—it was newly constructed. Go and take a look. We will convene a Divine Realm Council tomorrow; we can discuss matters in greater detail then."
The Goddess of Life stood beside him, her smile as radiant as a blooming flower—gentle and approachable: "That’s right. For today, just take some time to familiarize yourself with the Divine Realm. If you’d like a tour guide, feel free to come find me!"
Jiang Bai nodded: "Understood."
The four God-Kings—Destruction, Life, Kindness, and Evil—bowed slightly, then turned to depart. Their figures transformed into four streaks of flowing light, vanishing into the sea of clouds.
The God of Asura, however, remained standing exactly where he was, staring intently at Jiang Bai.
Jiang Bai paused in surprise, asking with a puzzled look: "Asura? Is there something else you need?"
Asura glanced toward Qian Renxue, Bi Ji, and Di Tian, his gaze carrying a subtle, unspoken implication.
Jiang Bai immediately grasped his meaning and said to the trio: "Why don’t you three go inside the Divine Palace and take a look around first?"
Qian Renxue nodded, then turned and led Bi Ji and Di Tian into the Divine Palace. The figures of the three vanished through the palace gates.
Seeing that the trio had departed, Shura finally spoke up, his voice carrying a hint of awkwardness: "Cough, cough... Um, Your Majesty the Dragon God..."
Jiang Bai smiled and said, "You can call me Jiang Bai or the Dragon God—whichever you prefer. Let’s just skip the ’Your Majesty’ formalities, though."
Shura readily accepted the suggestion, nodding as he spoke: "Right... Dragon God, did you happen to pick up a blood-red sword while you were down in the lower realm?"
Jiang Bai paused for a moment in surprise, then immediately recalled it.
The Shura Demonic Sword.
It was an item that had dropped after he killed the King of Slaughter earlier—something he had casually tossed into his spatial soul tool and had nearly forgotten about entirely.
With a wave of his hand, Jiang Bai summoned the Shura Demonic Sword into his grasp. The blade was long and slender; a dark-red radiance flowed across its surface, exuding an intense, razor-sharp killing intent.
"You mean this?"
Upon seeing his precious treasure, Shura’s eyes lit up, and he nodded vigorously: "Yes, yes, exactly that one!"
He hastened to explain: "Well, about this matter... there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding. Actually, this is all Rakshasa’s fault! If it weren’t for her, my chosen successor wouldn’t have been parasitized by that damned bat, and he certainly wouldn’t have ended up obstructing your Divine Trials! Look at the mess this whole thing turned into!"
Jiang Bai smiled and handed the Shura Demonic Sword over: "It’s fine; I already know all about it."
Shura reached out and accepted the Shura Demonic Sword. Hearing Jiang Bai’s words, however, a flicker of suspicion crossed his face.
You know all about it? Are you pulling my leg?
You claim to know "all about it"? Back when Tang Chen was being parasitized, you probably hadn’t even awakened your Martial Soul yet, had you?!
Nevertheless, Shura made sure not to let his skepticism show. He absorbed the Shura Demonic Sword back into his body, secretly breathing a sigh of relief.
Jiang Bai suddenly asked, "Shura, do you know what the final trial of my Divine Trials entails?"
Shura shook his head. Jiang Bai spoke up: "My final trial involved witnessing that Grand Ceremony of the Divine Stars."
He looked directly into Shura’s eyes: "In the end, I saw you use the Shura Demonic Sword to cleave the Dragon God in two."
Jiang Bai gazed at Shura and remarked in a low, wistful tone: "I wonder... would you cleave me in two as well?"
Shura’s expression shifted slightly; he hurriedly explained, "Of course not! That incident was an absolute necessity!"
Jiang Bai smiled, reaching out to pat Shura on the shoulder: "Relax, I was just joking."
Shura: "..."
That wasn’t funny at all!
He grumbled inwardly, then spoke aloud: "Well, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading back now."
Jiang Bai waved his hand.
Shura turned to leave, his pace noticeably quicker than usual.
Jiang Bai watched his retreating figure, smiled, and then turned to enter the Divine Temple.
...
The interior of the Dragon God’s Temple was even more magnificent than its exterior.
Inside, massive stone pillars supported the vaulted ceiling, their surfaces intricately carved with lifelike depictions of dragons. The floor was paved with an unidentified golden stone that gleamed with a mirror-like finish.
The ceiling was studded with countless gems which, illuminated by the ambient spiritual energy, shimmered with a radiant, multicolored glow.
Qian Renxue stood before a large mural, examining it with rapt attention. The painting depicted a colossal dragon stretching across the heavens; its nine-colored scales gleamed brilliantly, its eyes blazed like the sun and moon, and its divine might radiated with overwhelming power.
Bi Ji stood beside her, gazing at the same mural. Her eyes were filled with sheer awe.
Di Tian, meanwhile, stood in the center of the hall, scanning his surroundings with a look of profound complexity in his eyes.
Upon seeing Jiang Bai enter, Qian Renxue turned toward him and asked, "What did that God-King Shura want with you?"
Jiang Bai walked over to her side and replied in a casual tone, "Nothing much. Back when I was on the continent, I happened to pick up his divine artifact—the Shura Demonic Sword."
Qian Renxue blinked in bewilderment.
A divine artifact? Picked it up?
Why did those words sound so utterly fantastical to her?
Surely, divine artifacts were either held in the hands of the gods themselves or confined within the spaces of the Divine Trials; how could one simply pick one up?
Jiang Bai offered no explanation; instead, he reached out and wrapped his arm around Qian Renxue’s waist.
"Xue’er, would you prefer to stay in my Divine Palace, or go to your own Angelic Divine Palace?"
Leaning against his chest, Qian Renxue answered without hesitation, "Naturally, I’ll stay in your palace! Why? Are you tired of me? Trying to kick me out?"
Jiang Bai let his "wolf claws" wander lower, grinning mischievously. "How could I be? I’d be absolutely delighted to have you!"
Qian Renxue’s pretty face flushed crimson as she chided him playfully, "Hmph! You never take anything seriously!"
She planted a quick kiss on Jiang Bai’s lips, then gently pushed him away and turned to head toward the palace entrance.
"I’m going to check the Angelic Divine Palace first—I want to see if the previous Angel God left anything behind."
Jiang Bai nodded, watching her as she departed.
...
After Qian Renxue had left, Jiang Bai summoned Di Tian and Bi Ji.
He looked at Di Tian and said, "Di Tian, you should begin absorbing the Immortal Spiritual Qi first. Once you’ve broken through to the Divine Rank, you can go out and find a Divine Palace of your own."
Upon hearing this, Di Tian gave a light snort and retorted grumpily, "Fine, fine, I get it. I won’t interrupt you and your wives while you’re busy being all lovey-dovey!"
Standing nearby, Bi Ji blushed slightly at his remark.
Jiang Bai chuckled. "Alright, go find a room in here for now and start absorbing the Immortal Spiritual Qi."
Di Tian nodded and turned to leave. His steps were light and brisk, his eyes brimming with anticipation.
After all these years, he could finally return to the Divine Realm and achieve the breakthrough to the Divine Rank.
