Chapter 807: Chapter 794: Little Detective Solving Cases (24)
"That Evan Grayson usually acts so weak. If you ask me, there’s no way he can beat Shirley Lockwood in a fight."
Listening to these murmurs, the school idol sitting in the last row of Shirley Lockwood’s section rubbed his chin. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he coldly observed the drama unfolding in front of him.
If he had seen and heard correctly just now, that little one seemed to have said something quite interesting.
"There are always some people with a death wish?" he mused. "This newly transferred girl seems to be quite something."
"Young Master Clayton, look! Who do you think will win?!" At that moment, a boy suddenly ran over and clapped Nathan Clayton heavily on the shoulder.
Nathan Clayton smiled slightly and calmly uttered three words, "Hard to say."
"Evan Grayson usually acts all high and mighty. He never plays with us, as if he’s the only one in our class born into a good family."
"Heh, the Grayson family is indeed quite impressive."
"So what if the Grayson family is impressive? Young Master Clayton, your family isn’t lacking compared to theirs at all."
Nathan Clayton simply let out a soft chuckle. He raised an eyebrow, looking toward Shirley Lockwood. "How much do you know about that newly transferred girl?"
"Nothing besides her name. Come to think of it, that Shirley Lockwood is quite strange too. She’s exactly like Evan Grayson—offending everyone she meets to the absolute limit. Now, not a single girl in the class is willing to play with her."
At this time, Shirley Lockwood had no idea that while she and Evan Grayson were arguing, the rest of the class was already immersed in such lively discussions about them.
She continued to grip Evan Grayson’s clothes tightly without letting go, fiercely threatening him. "Evan Grayson, if you’re a man, have the guts to come out and duel me one-on-one! Let’s see if I don’t beat you so badly today that even your own mother won’t recognize you!"
Evan Grayson was never afraid of Shirley Lockwood in the first place, nor was he intimidated by her threats. He smiled with complete composure. "Let’s go, then."
"Fine, let’s go!"
Then, under the shocked gazes of the entire class, Shirley Lockwood ruthlessly let go of Evan Grayson’s collar and kicked a chair out of her way. "Move it!"
That aura of raw bravado genuinely gave both the boys and girls in the class a massive fright. None of them had expected this delicate little girl to be so fierce. However, there were also girls who feared their class’s little young master would be bullied, so they immediately ran off to tattle to the teachers.
Watching Evan Grayson and Shirley Lockwood leave the classroom, Nathan Clayton unhurriedly stood up, bypassed his desk and chair, and followed them out. With Nathan Clayton leading the way out, the other curious classmates followed suit.
Shirley Lockwood led Evan Grayson to the sports field.
There were many older students playing basketball there. Although these older kids were significantly bigger than them, their imposing auras were clearly no match for Shirley Lockwood’s. As soon as she reached the field, she screamed at the top of her lungs, "Get the hell out of the way! I’m here for a fight!"
Hearing that this little one in front of them wanted to fight, not a single one of the upperclassmen playing basketball could hold back their laughter. Laughter aside, seeing how cute yet domineering the little one was, they were more than happy to clear the court for her.
When Evan Grayson heard Shirley Lockwood’s words, the corner of his mouth twitched violently. He had never been in a fight before. However, never having been in a fight didn’t mean he didn’t know how to. Nor did it mean he would go easy on this uncultured girl who was covered in thorns!
These male students didn’t know that the person Shirley Lockwood intended to fight was Evan Grayson. So, after yielding the space, they kindly raised their eyebrows and asked, "Little girl, who are you planning to teach a lesson? Do you need us older guys to help you out?"
"Yeah, yeah, we’d be more than happy to lend a hand to such a cute little girl."
"I appreciate the kind offer, guys," Shirley Lockwood replied with a smile. She had never been shy around strangers, and even though she knew they were just teasing her, she played along. Finally, she pointed angrily at Evan Grayson. "But I’m going to duel this jerk one-on-one!"
By the time she finished speaking, Shirley Lockwood had already assumed a fighting stance, just waiting to brawl with Evan Grayson.
Seeing that this girl was quite the expert at fighting, Evan Grayson’s temples throbbed twice. "Shirley Lockwood, it’s not too late for you to back out." Although he didn’t really consider the Shirley Lockwood before him to be much of a lady, he felt that, out of basic courtesy, he ought to give her fair warning.
"Cut the crap! If I don’t beat you to the ground today, my name isn’t Shirley Lockwood!" With that, Shirley Lockwood swung her fist forward.
A large crowd had already gathered around the perimeter of the sports field, all watching these two brats fight.
