Chapter 808: Chapter 794: Crime-Solving Little Detective (24)

Inside the CEO’s office at IS Company.

Archie Lockwood clutched the phone, his expression darkening by the second. "Alright, I understand. I’ll be right there."

Hanging up, Archie’s face was grim as he stood, grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair, and strode toward the door.

Seeing her boss leaving without a word of instruction, Louise Jordan hurried after him and asked anxiously, "Mr. Lockwood, did something happen?"

"Rory got into another fight at school. Cancel this morning’s meetings."

"Right away." Hearing that Rory was in a fight, Louise realized the gravity of the situation and responded immediately.

Forty minutes later, in the principal’s office at St. Azure Academy.

The principal looked uneasily at the two VIPs sitting before him. Who were these people? They were none other than Young Master Grayson and Mrs. Grayson of the Grayson family—the academy’s largest shareholders.

"Kiki, how could you get into a fight?" Mika Summers looked at her son’s bruised face and dirt-covered clothes, feeling both heartbroken and furious.

Her son had never been in a fight before. If he had to fight, so be it—but he actually fought with a little girl. And the reason for the altercation was that her son had called the girl ill-bred. It was easy to imagine how frustrated and disappointed she was with him.

Evan Grayson kept his head down, his eyes red, without saying a word.

Shirley Lockwood, who had a sharp tongue, curled her lips when she saw Evan staying silent. She let out an angry huff and said, "Mrs. Grayson, he’s just feeling guilty. Look at how your son beat me up."

She had rarely lost a fight before, but today she had taken a real beating. As if suffering a loss wasn’t bad enough, the parents had been called in. And they brought both his mom and dad—were they trying to bully her because she didn’t have a mother? Shirley felt deeply aggrieved and wanted to cry, but she stubbornly held back her tears.

Seeing the little girl covered in dirt with her hair in a disheveled mess, Mika felt incredibly embarrassed. She pulled a wet wipe from her bag and gently cleaned Shirley’s face, speaking in a soft voice. "I apologize on behalf of this brat. Later, when your parents get here, we’ll take you to the hospital to get checked out, okay?"

"Hmph, I don’t want your apology! Evan Grayson, I might not be able to beat you right now, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to beat you for the rest of my life. Just you wait! It won’t be long before I knock you flat on the ground!"

"I’ll be waiting..." Evan, who had been silent all this time, was provoked by Shirley’s words. He hadn’t planned on arguing with her over the nonsense she spouted in front of his parents, but now, this Shirley Lockwood was actually asking for another fight.

"You brat, what nonsense are you sprouting? No more fighting, do you hear me?! As a boy, you should be more accommodating to girls." Mika angrily gave Evan a push and scolded, "Hurry up and apologize to her."

Evan looked up at Mika, his voice cracking with grievance as he yelled, "I didn’t do anything wrong! I won’t apologize!"

"Hmph, who cares about your apology? Anyway, this isn’t over between us!" Shirley crossed her arms over her chest, tilted her head up, and gave a cold scoff.

Having just arrived at the office, Archie Lockwood heard Shirley’s declaration. His face darkened with anger as he snapped coldly, "Shirley Lockwood, shut your mouth!"

At the sound of his voice, Shirley shuddered, and her small face drained of all color.

"Principal, I’m so sorry. My daughter has caused trouble again, hasn’t she? Rest assured, I will process her transfer paperwork immediately." Without even glancing in Shirley’s direction, Archie strode straight toward the desk.

On the sofa, Tristan Grayson was currently reading a newspaper, while Mika had her back to the door. That familiar voice caused Mika’s body to stiffen slightly, and she slowly straightened up, filled with uncertainty.

Hearing her father immediately issue a death sentence upon arrival, Shirley couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. She cried and shouted at Archie, "I don’t want to transfer! Dad, why are you making me transfer without even asking what happened?!"

"What is there to ask? Shirley, don’t forget what you promised me before coming here." Did he not know what kind of behavior his own daughter was capable of?

Mika finally turned around. Upon getting a clear look at Archie’s face, her lips trembled in disbelief as she called out, "Archie..."

Archie had actually spotted Mika the moment he finished speaking, so he was equally astounded. "Mika..."

Tristan put down his newspaper. Frowning, he stood up from the sofa. "Archie Lockwood?"

"Archie, when did you get back?" No longer paying any mind to her son, Mika rushed over and pulled Archie into a tight hug, her voice choking with sobs as she asked.

Archie steadied his emotions and hugged Mika back, a hint of joy in his tone. "I’ve been back for almost a month now."

"Archie, you’re really too cruel. You’ve been gone for so many years, yet you didn’t even think to visit us when you came back."

"Mika..." It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go back; he simply didn’t have the face to see them. Back then, he had left so resolutely, severing all ties completely. Now, even though he had returned, he was too ashamed to face them.
