Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 741 - 729: I Want You to Marry Me (17)
Chapter 741: Chapter 729: I Want You to Marry Me (17)
Seeing how unnaturally pale Eleanor Bishop was, Louise Jordan fixed her with a cool gaze and said coldly, "Our boss has done so much for you, Miss Bishop. Aren’t you going to show any appreciation?"
’Appreciation?’ she thought. ’What more does he want? Does he expect me to... like last night again?’
"Miss Bishop, our boss has spent so much money and time on you. Even a dog would be more loyal." Louise continued, "When he saw you being bullied, our boss—a man who is meticulous about his image and would never normally lift a finger against anyone—got into a street fight for the first time in his life."
After finding out about the hardships Miss Bishop has endured over the years, he wrote a check for a billion without even blinking!
When he got the call from Howard Rhodes that Miss Bishop was making a drunken scene in the street, our boss stormed out without a second thought, rushed to the scene, and carried her away in his arms.
For all these years, our boss has been surrounded by temptations, yet he hasn’t touched a single woman. He couldn’t even be bothered to feign interest. But he’s only met Miss Bishop twice, and they’ve already slept together.
It wasn’t hard to guess that he was acting this way because he could never forget Miss Bishop.
It was because he couldn’t forget her that he flew into a rage the moment Rory mentioned Eleanor Bishop’s name.
It was because he couldn’t forget—and because he’d been hurt so badly—that he was terrified of getting entangled with Eleanor Bishop and repeating the same mistakes all over again.
"Louise Jordan, what are you trying to say?"
Louise Jordan placed everything on the table, looked up, and said nonchalantly, "Our boss is on a four o’clock flight out of Jevon this afternoon. He and Miss Rory will be leaving together."
"They’re leaving?"
Louise Jordan didn’t answer Eleanor Bishop. Instead, she glanced at her watch and continued, "It’s almost three o’clock. If you want to see them, Miss Bishop, you still have time. Also, here are three plane tickets for you. A seven o’clock flight to Country F tonight."
Having said all she needed to, Louise Jordan left.
Eleanor Bishop walked over and picked up the three plane tickets, her eyes filled with pain and conflict.
’I don’t understand what Louise Jordan was trying to tell me,’ she thought. ’But I know one thing for sure: last night, Archie Lockwood warned me to stay out of his sight for the rest of my life.’
’So how could I possibly dare to show up now...?’
She had no reason, and certainly no confidence, to throw herself at a man who despised her so much, not like she might have in the past.

「Outside the hotel.」
Inside a parked BMW, Archie Lockwood watched as Louise Jordan opened the passenger-side door and slid in. "What did she say?" he asked coldly.
"Boss, I don’t think... I don’t think Miss Bishop will be coming."
"Hah..." A sarcastic smirk touched Archie Lockwood’s lips.
Everything was going exactly as he’d expected. Yet hearing Louise Jordan say the words aloud still sent an unavoidable pang of pain through his heart.
’This was the last chance I was giving her,’ he thought. ’If she really doesn’t come, then after I get back to Country M, I’ll have to tell Rory the cruel truth.’
’If it’s truly impossible for us in this lifetime, then I have to crush Rory’s hopes once and for all.’
’I don’t know why I suddenly changed my mind, why I went soft.’
’Maybe it was seeing Rory’s face as she slept last night that made me waver. Maybe it was how I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, with this inexplicable tightness in my chest. Maybe it’s because after years of celibacy, one touch of her was all it took to get me hooked. Or maybe it was an idea that suddenly struck me this morning while I was helping her bathe and apply her medicine.’
He found himself wondering: ’If she had stayed by my side, if she had never left... would we be happy together right now?’
