Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4864 The Dawn Triad

Chapter 4864  The Dawn Triad

Davis was speechless.

Not only was this True Peak Emporium Branch understaffed, but it also seemed to be underprotected, even with defensive formations surrounding it. From the looks of it, they were unable to take an attack from anything above a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor.

'I expected more from this True Peak Emporium branch, but it's shoddy beyond compare…'

Davis shook his head.

In Davis's eyes, they were no more than decorative barriers, something meant to deter weak Immortal Emperors while projecting an illusion of authority.

With a faint sigh, he reluctantly put down the soul-nourishing tea that gave him a refreshing feeling on the lacquered table and walked to the young man who glared beyond the hole he made in the building. He offered no apologies nor paid Davis any attention.

He wore a dark-blue robe, the fabric embroidered with thin silver sword patterns along the sleeves. His hair was tied into a sharp high tail, and a long sword rested diagonally across his back. His jaw was clenched, eyes fixed on the shattered street beyond, radiating restrained fury.

Taking a step forward, the young man was about to leave when he heard a mocking voice.

"Akarr Ruo," A lazy voice echoed out, dripping with amusement, "Don't ever think she belongs to you. Haven't you heard about the rumors spreading about her lately?"

"…!"

Akarr Ruo's expression twisted violently. He grasped the sword over his back, his fingers wrapping around the hilt tightly as veins popped over his forehead.

"Bjansen Yung! Shut your mouth." He roared, flying out.

From atop a broken pillar stood another man.

Bjansen Yung wore flowing white robes trimmed with gold, immaculate despite the surrounding destruction. His long hair cascaded freely down his back, and a jade fan rested casually against his palm. His smile was refined, but one careful look and people may recognize it to be cruel, the kind that cut deeper than insults ever could.

"She doesn't like you anymore," Bjansen Yung continued, laughing softly. "And she wants the marriage annulled. Didn't anyone tell you?"

Akarr Ruo's aura surged.

"She might still be pure," Bjansen Yung added with a grin, eyes narrowing, "but her heart? That's no longer yours."

"You-!"

"Hahaha!" Bjansen threw his head back and roared with laughter, "Don't blame me. If she chose someone else, whose fault is that?"

Akarr Ruo snapped.

With a furious shout, he leapt forward, sword flashing from his back as a brilliant arc of sword light cleaved through the air, tearing apart shattered stone and residual formations alike.

"Fuck you!"

Bjansen's laughter only grew louder.

"Haha! It's not with some devil hiding in the shadows," he sneered, snapping his jade fan shut, "It's with me!"

Before the sword light could land-

*Boom!~*

A massive silver blur smashed down between them.

An eight-meter-tall man clad in a silky orange robe stepped forward, his body built like a walking fortress. His silver head gleamed under sunlight, thick veins bulging along his arms as he swung a colossal silver mace the size of a siege weapon.

The impact cratered the ground.

"Didn't I already say you two can fuck off?!"

The roar shook the entire street.

"Helvard Lute!"

Akarr Ruo and Bjansen Yung shouted simultaneously, retreating in opposite directions as shockwaves blasted outward.

Bjansen Yung scoffed lightly, brushing dust from his sleeve.

Akarr Ruo glared, chest heaving, sword trembling with barely-contained killing intent.

None of them noticed Davis.

He stood a short distance away, viewing them from the hole in his room, his hands clasped behind his back, eyes calm as still water.

The chaos, the shouting, the threats- all of that seemed funny to him

After all, Davis was about to go easy on Akarr Ruo for being an idiot who can't even apologize for crashing into his room when his expression went a bit strange. It seemed like the other party's fiancée was involved in some kind of affair. Since this young man was suffering, he didn't feel the need to do double the damage. However, Akarr Ruo?

He felt like he had heard of this family name before.

'Ruo… Ruo… Jiayi Crystalveil Ruo… ah…'

Davis's lips parted in shock.

Back then, he had heard Jiayi Crystalveil being engaged to the Young Master of the Ruo Family, who was said to be a supreme genius. It turns out that the arranged marriage partner might be none other than Akarr Ruo.

Akarr Ruo raised his hand, "What do you two know? When she proved her innocence of dealing with the devil, she had also proved her innocence. She didn't sell her body nor sell her soul. As a successful merchant, she must brave dangers to become what she is today, so as her fiancé, I'm very proud of her!"

"Heh!" Helvard Lute sneered, "Akarr Ruo. Back then, your family managed to gain some favor from the True Peak Emporium, managing to get Fairy Jiayi Crystalveil's hand in marriage, but you're a frog in a well if you think you can still obtain her. From a no-name amongst the many Crystalveil siblings, she has outclassed them all and stands at the peak. She would in no way consider you to be her husband."

"That's not for you to stay, so stop openly sabotaging my marriage." Akarr Ruo smirked, "Besides, do you two frogs think you can obtain her with your measly strength? If I am not comparable, what makes you two so confident?"

"You'll see."

Bjansen Yung and Helvard Lute sneered, but the latter waved his silver mace at them, causing them to retreat further.

Clearly, Helvard Lute was the strongest among the three.

Davis had also finished sensing their true prowess. At the Immortal Emperor Stage, they were six levels higher. Only Helvard Lute had a prowess that was seven levels higher. This was a formidable amount of power for a supreme genius to possess, but it paled in comparison to the supreme geniuses he had faced in the secret realm.

'Truly, they are backwater supreme geniuses…' Davis lampooned, feeling sorry for them.

Jiayi Crystalveil really was out of their reach.

After chasing them away, Helvard Lute got back into the True Peak Emporium, while the two others had no choice but to stay in another inn. However, they remained close by.

Davis wondered what fueled this fight as he listened to the bystanders, only to be surprised.

'Holy shit… she's really here…'

Just as he said that, someone knocked on his room which turned out to be room service who was going to repair the hole. He stood by the side, looking at the skies with some amusement since it seemed like Jiayi Crystalveil just arrived here two days ago and left for the mountains to break through.

In the distance, he could see the remnant signs of an Empyrean Tribulation. In Jiayi Crystalveil's case, it was an Autarch Tribulation. It wasn't any different since the base foundation for a tribulation was race, which was human. Only then were other factors taken into account, such as cultivation path, physique, and others.

Nonetheless, it seemed like she may have been successful and may return soon.

"Ugh, you say this person wanted to meet the current highest authority? Who could be so arrogant?"

At this moment, a voice could be heard from the corridor. A person entered the room, his expression annoyed but still amicable. He was clad in a white robe and possessed a refined air about him. His blue hair slowly swayed in the air as he flipped his hair behind him, gazing at Davis with a respectful gesture of cupped hands.

"Hello, I'm the highest authority in this branch right now. Although you retracted your request to meet us, we are still obligated to hear your opinion about us, the store, and the goods. Please feel free to state your opinions or requests to me- Ragoon Crystalveil."

Davis looked surprised, "Whoa, so professional for a hoodlum merchant…"

"You-"

Ragoon Crystalveil was momentarily taken aback by this arrogant black-robed man. However, he momentarily went stiff. The confusion between the other party's appearance and the voice he could never forget caused his brain to stop working for a few moments.

Davis's lips curled as he raised his hand and placed a hand over his lips, "Don't tell your elder sister I'm here."

"…"

Ragoon Crystalveil turned into a corpse that moment, his heart sinking to the depths of his soul sea.

But when he realized it, the Divine Emperor of Death was already no longer there, making his scalp turn numb.
