Chapter 4583: Forcing To Adapt
Chapter 4583: Forcing To Adapt
Davis jumped to a rock and sat in front of a huge carcass, his legs folded in a lotus posture.
The past few days were uncomfortable since he had started to bleed everywhere from his body.
Each day felt like a trial by fire. His meridians burned, his blood boiled, and every joint screamed with agony as the sickness dug its fangs deeper into him. The dark patches had begun to pulse faintly, like parasitic hearts feeding on his vitality, sending waves of icy pain through his bones and a maddening hum into his soul.
Despite the terrifying pain, he did his best to let the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness fester and grow like he was nurturing it in his own body.
He barely used life energy to combat the illness but kept himself from bleeding.
Now, he stopped doing that.
As soon as he removed the minute layer of life energy from his flesh, the dark patches on his skin began to crack and bleed within minutes from receiving the moonlights. The moonlight was hastening the growth of the sickness at a faster rate than it would usually do.
But Davis still kept enduring.
Instead of resisting the infection, he guided his life energy in careful, deliberate pulses, isolating parts of the sickness, allowing his Chaotic Genesis Physique to observe and adapt for the last week. He used the body’s own defense mechanism to combat the sickness from the start, but he didn’t allow it to develop any antibodies until he had first let the sickness develop to a critical stage.
His idea was to produce antibodies specialized against the sickness. The stronger it is, the better it could allow his idea to come to fruition.
Time passed.
It was an agonizing process. Every hour was a battle to keep them from overwhelming him completely while developing antibodies in isolated parts of the body, but slowly, almost imperceptibly, he began noticing the changes. His cells grow more resilient to the sickness. The sickness had already reached its peak, but his cells were growing much stronger, more resilient to the sickness itself.
Even his soul weaved subtle layers of defenses to ward off the sickness from seeping into his soul. His Everlasting Samsara Tribunal Soul Physique was much more proficient in squashing the sickness due to its attribute. By dividing its nature, it was filled with life, disallowing impure, unholy, and corruptive elements to be quickly eliminated.
There were moments when he collapsed from the sheer pain, his vision swimming with darkness, but he maintained consciousness. Each time he recovered, the sickness seemed to lose a fraction of its bite. His gamble was working. His body was learning, producing specialized antibodies, and becoming something capable of facing the true depth of the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness.
Suddenly, the dark patches on his face, upper body, lower body, and other parts cracked. But instead of bleeding, they dispersed away like they couldn’t hold onto him anymore.
Davis let out a foul breath, exhaling the illness.
Even in the shimmering lights of the moons and in close range to the carcass that was still giving off a corruptive yet delicious aroma, he won against the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness.
He stood up, almost ready to use Grim Death’s Awakening.
He confirmed that the sickness was absolutely erased from his body. He couldn’t help but smile since he figured he was now extremely resistant to the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness itself.
‘The Chaotic Genesis Physique Body really can’t be underestimated… As expected, it can produce antibodies to such a terrifying sickness. It has no known cure as far as I know… so only the brute forcing method of using high-quality healing type energies works…’
Davis remembered Isabella’s way of practicing Rumbling Laws. She managed to learn Chaos Laws through shattering wild heaven and earth energy and being able to reform it back into the same essence instead of causing it to disperse after being destroyed. It required precise control over each strand of energy that could only be achieved by controlling energy at the micro level.
He figured it was an application of chaos, so he also was of thought that his Chaotic Genesis Physique was capable of producing anything as long as it met something similar, and he cracked the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness within the body and created antibodies right from it.
It was like using a serpent’s venom to create an antidote. Only, the place where he created the antidote was inside his body and soul.
‘Here it goes…’
Davis took a deep breath and brought out the Eternal Eclipse Bird’s soul essence. It was extremely heavy and frightening for a mere dead soul wisp. The air around him changed, the pressure increasing greatly.
Just holding it above his palms made him feel infected with the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness. It was only with Fallen Heaven’s power that it didn’t produce any of these side effects, but after he took out out, its aura alone was enough for someone to vomit from experiencing the sensation of being sick.
Davis ripped a part of the Eternal Eclipse Bird’s soul essence with brute force and flooded it with a complex sigil made up of death energy, branding it with the Grim Death’s Awakening. He experienced immense pain in his soul as it was now rocked like a boat in a storm of tsunamis. His soul began to crack, and the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness was creeping like venom.
“Argh…”
Davis’s mouth opened, and he spat a mouthful of blood. His body turned pitch-black faster than the initial spread of the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness, instantly starting to bleed everywhere. His blood vessels popped and burst, and his bones melted within.
He looked like he was about to drown in his own blood.
However, his bloodshot eyes were open wide, and his life energy burst out in full force, solely strengthening the antibodies within that were specialized in battling the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness.
The whole point of his containing the illness in his body was to research and learn how to resist the sickness, since he was going to drown in the sickness when he would try to inject his soul essence into the Eternal Eclipse Bird in order to control it using Grim Death’s Awakening.
He was aware that using raw life energy and brute forcing to cure his body wouldn’t do anymore, since he would be directly basking in the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness, which would contain a threat similar to Primarch Grade illnesses.
He wouldn’t be able to get rid of it in time and end up prey. Even using Fallen Heaven to cure was doubtful. However, as long as he knew the right way to cure it, then even if he was infected again and again, he could always cure the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness. Hence, he directly created antibodies and soul defense specialized against it.
Now it was a battle of him managing to complete the rune first or the sickness overwhelming him.
Davis noted that his plan was somewhat working. At the same time, his death energy blotted out the moonlight, sealing him in a dome.
Now, he was able to fight better against the sickness while he was trying to awaken the Eternal Eclipse Bird!
It was a feedback loop since the Grim Death’s Awakening he made was a new improvised version that he had studied from researching Nadia’s new runes from her Deathhowl Revenant Wolf Bloodline in the last few years, allowing him to have far more control over his undead puppets, down to their personality!
After all, he was using a part of their soul essence to etch their ego like it was a Ghost Will!
