Chapter 683: Chapter 682: The Strongest Inheritance

The black hole that appeared before the Black-striped Tiger was a void tunnel leading to the White Tiger Forest. For a being as powerful as the giant figure was in life, constructing such a tunnel was no difficult task.

The Black-striped Tiger gave Lin Yun and Little Ape a deep look. Seeing this, Little Ape, perched on Lin Yun’s shoulder, spoke to the tiger with rare seriousness, "Stupid tiger, you have to obtain the bloodline of the Celestial King White Tiger."

"Go on." Lin Yun, however, only said two simple words.

Looking toward Lin Yun and Little Ape, the Black-striped Tiger didn’t say a single word in the end, but its enormous eyes had begun to turn red.

Turning its head, the Black-striped Tiger charged into the black hole without hesitation. After its entire body had entered, only Lin Yun and Little Ape were left in the great hall.

At that moment, the giant figure’s voice grew heavy as it looked at the two of them. "Well, everyone else has gone. All that’s left is you two—a pair that heaven and earth cannot abide."

Hearing this, Lin Yun wasn’t surprised at all. With the power the giant figure possessed in life, it was only natural for it to see through his and Little Ape’s peculiarities. Little Ape was the offspring of a Vajra Divine Ape and a Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape, while Lin Yun simultaneously cultivated the supreme techniques of both the Divine and Demon Realms. Truthfully, just like Little Ape, Lin Yun was also a being that heaven and earth could not abide.

"The descendant of a Vajra Divine Ape and a Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape... I wonder what will become of you. I have no inheritance I can give you, but I do know of a place that can make your Bloodline Power awaken more quickly," the giant figure said, looking at Little Ape.

It was true. Little Ape’s bloodline was already one of the most supreme Demon Beast bloodlines in existence. Thus, even the giant figure couldn’t offer anything better. The only thing it could do was use an external force to accelerate Little Ape’s bloodline awakening.

Right now, Little Ape was merely a Tier Four Demon Beast. Among the clans of the Vajra Divine Apes and the Heaven-Destroying Demon Apes, he would only be considered a juvenile. Not even a tenth of the bloodline within him had awakened.

Hearing the figure’s words, Little Ape didn’t answer. Instead, he looked to Lin Yun and asked, "Big Brother..."

"Go on. If it can make your bloodline awaken faster, the benefits to your future are self-evident," Lin Yun said with a smile.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, Little Ape nodded. Immediately, the giant figure pointed a finger into the air, and a similar black hole appeared. He glanced at Lin Yun, and the two shared a smile. Then, Little Ape leaped into the black hole.

Little Ape was gone too, leaving Lin Yun all alone in the great hall. A long silence fell. The giant figure didn’t speak, and neither did Lin Yun. After a brief pause, the figure looked at Lin Yun and spoke, its tone still low.

"It’s not unheard of for Martial Artists to attempt Divine Demon Cultivation. During the Ancient Golden Era, there were many who did, and every one of them was a person of dazzling talent. Yet, in the end, not a single one succeeded." At this point, the figure’s voice trailed off, as if recalling certain events from the past. After a long moment, it continued.

"Heaven and earth do not permit the existence of those who practice Divine Demon Cultivation. Such people are too powerful—they can even shatter the rules of the world. Therefore, heaven and earth will not tolerate them."

Lin Yun naturally knew the dangers of Divine Demon Cultivation. But since he had already chosen this path, he would not regret it. Even if there was only a sliver of a chance to survive, Lin Yun would grit his teeth and push through.

Thinking that Lin Yun didn’t know the dangers of Divine Demon Cultivation, the figure gave him a choice.

"Your Cultivation isn’t too high yet; there’s still time to turn back. If you are willing, I can help you cripple the Divine Demon Technique you practice and pass on a different Divine Level Technique to you," the figure said.

Hearing this, Lin Yun refused almost without hesitation. "That won’t be necessary. Thank you for your kind intentions, Senior. I am aware of the dangers of Divine Demon Cultivation, but I have things I must accomplish. I cannot, and will not, allow myself to give up halfway."

Hearing Lin Yun’s answer, the figure fell silent for a moment. It didn’t try to force him, but said, "Since that is your decision, this old man will say no more. Obtaining the ultimate inheritance of the Cyan Dragon Palace is extremely dangerous; you could very well lose your life. However, if you succeed, the benefits to your future will be self-evident. Have you decided to challenge the trial for the Cyan Dragon Palace’s ultimate inheritance?"

"I’ve decided." Lin Yun nodded. Since he had the chance to obtain the ultimate inheritance of the Cyan Dragon Palace, he naturally wouldn’t pass it up.

"But, Senior, I wish to know what secrets the Cyan Dragon Palace and the other three ruins are hiding," Lin Yun asked, looking at the giant figure.

"Once you have passed the trial for the Cyan Dragon Palace’s ultimate inheritance, you will naturally understand." After this faint remark, a black hole appeared directly beneath Lin Yun’s feet, and he instantly fell into it.

Lin Yun and the others had all gone to their respective inheritances. The great hall was now empty. A faint sigh was heard from the giant figure. "How many years has it been... To think that in this era, I would actually see someone who practices Divine Demon Cultivation."

As its voice faded, the giant figure slowly dissipated from the throne.

For Lin Yun, who had fallen into the black hole, it felt like an instant and an eternity. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a dilapidated great hall.

The entire hall was constructed from bluestone. A single glance revealed it to be ancient, simple, and majestic.

Scanning the hall, Lin Yun discovered that the surrounding walls were all carved with a lifelike Divine Dragon. This Divine Dragon seemed to coil around the entire palace.

"Is this the ultimate inheritance of the Cyan Dragon Palace?" Lin Yun murmured softly. He then got up and started walking toward the deeper part of the hall.

Lin Yun encountered no attacks along the way. After walking for only a kilometer, a large bronze gate appeared before him.

The gate was somewhat rusted and covered in weeds. It was clear from a single glance that the gate was ancient.

He studied the bronze gate before him. It was a hundred meters tall, and above it, the three large words ’Cyan Dragon Palace’ were clearly visible.

"Could this be the real Cyan Dragon Palace?" Lin Yun murmured as he looked at the three large words.

Without overthinking it, Lin Yun walked up to the bronze gate. Just then, the tightly shut gate opened on its own.

The moment the gate opened, an extremely resounding dragon’s roar echoed from within, forcing Lin Yun back several steps. His mind was completely stunned by the cry.

"Divine Dragon..." After a long moment, Lin Yun whispered in astonishment. The roar just now contained a pure Long Wei. Without a doubt, it was a cry that only a Divine Dragon could produce.
