Chapter 122: Malicious Thoughts Arise

“Ohoho, lady’s room clear.”

“Fack stalls clear! Hurhur...”

“Front lounge… che, ain’t nobody there except the two ladies and that selfish twerp! Four-eyes, turns out you’re too paranoid!”

No bombs discovered. No outsiders either. That’s good news, but Kwan Minhwoo frowned slightly.

Then… does that mean the invaders got stopped outside? Who stopped them?

Or was that crater caused by something else? Similar to the creeper monster that invaded their base? If so, who triggered the explosion?

“Oi, four-eyes! I still don’t know whatcha worrying bout.” Baldie Tae shrugged. “Isn’t it just a little explosion? That scared you that much?”

Park Insu agreed. “Yeah. Even if a creeper shows up, I’ll kick their dead ass back to the moon!”

Their overconfidence made the other two wince.

Kim Sungho wiped his sweat and warned them with a strained smile.

“Ohoho, better safe than sorry. This is our only safe snoozing place. Wouldn’t want to wake up to an explosion or invaders stabbing our necks.”

“Whatever. Wasted enough of my time. I ma go destress before I crash!” Park Insu smugly brushed past them and whistled for the destressor. “Hurhur, Miss Kao! Did you miss me?”

The dog-couple hooked up and headed out back again.

That scene made the other three exhausted men feel envy inside.

Exhausted so bad but still has the energy to do that! That horny dog is really built differently!

Gotta admit: the recovery factor of that werewolf template is really no joke.

On the other hand, the muscular baldie acted tough outside, but was quite tired inside, especially with all his injuries.

Yet inability to engage in illicit activities didn’t mean he can’t go be a simp! Like a dog, he went to wag his tail for the lonely sexy hottie.

That left the four-eyes and Fatty Kim awkwardly standing there.

“So... Manager Kim, what say we find a spot to place our new machine?”

“Ohoho, I can’t agree more, Deputy Kwan.”

After moving to a good corner, Kwan Minhwoo tried to use the blueprint. Except…

[Error: Blueprint cannot be used on unowned territory.]

The same error message that they got out there in the wild! That made his face turn ugly.

“What’s wrong, Deputy Kwan?”

Kwan Minhwoo didn’t say anything, simply handing the blueprint over. Once Kim Sungho saw the same message, he chortled helplessly.

“Ohoho, we thought it’ll work once we return to base, but looks like there is another hidden condition.”

“Territory. That’s the key.” Kwan Minhwoo frowned and looked to the other think tank for an answer.

“Manager Kim, you’ve got more experience in these game mechanics. Any clues on how to unlock such functionality?”

“Oh… that…” Kim Sungho thought about for a bit and made some guesses.

“It might be a land claim or homestead system of some sort. Unlocking can be done in various ways. Leveling, conquest, storyline progress, acquiring items like land or guild deeds… could be anything, really.”

That was the same as saying nothing.

So the conclusion was: this blueprint card—that they’ve risked so much to get—turned out to be useless!

“So all that for nothing, huh? Ohoho, it will be difficult to break the news to those two.”

Fatty Kim felt his tooth ache just thinking about it!

Kwan Minhwoo felt the same headache, but to keep the team together, some things must be done. “You handle one. I’ll take care of the other. How?”

“Ohoho, great minds think alike.”

Though even great minds will have a tough time dealing with angry teammates. Well, they decided to go tackle one first: the simp bragging about their adventure to the red peony.

Since placing the machine in base can’t be hidden, they didn’t issue a gag order. Spreading the news was supposed to stake claim and even boost their team’s prestige. Except… now it backfired.

Well, great minds won’t get embarrassed over these trivial mistakes.

Kwan Minhwoo signaled to Fatty Kim and the pot-bellied man pulled his good brother aside to give him a pep talk.

Left behind with the social butterfly, Kwan Minhwoo smiled back like a gentleman and started warming her up for the upcoming interrogation about the crater outside.

Except… things didn’t like to go as planned today.

“So Miss Yoona, you’re saying… you didn’t see anything even after spying on him all day? That’s hard to believe, no?”

The experienced Chae Yoona showed no openings. “My, my… Sir Kwan, my role is to seduce him, not be his 24/7 watchdog. What he does while I turn my eyes is hard to fathom.”

“Is that so?” Kwan Minhwoo’s face turned stern. “Miss Chae, you know our supplies are limited. We don’t pay for time, but your… expertise. Your current achievements really puts us in a tough spot.”

Chae Yoona knew this smiling tiger wanted her to show more worth! If the target was anybody else, it might’ve been a bad end. But fortunately…

“My, my, Sir Kwan isn’t being very nice. But very well. Since you insist, I will make a little sacrifice tonight and see what I can learn. Just make sure nobody else disturbs us.”

Without giving the man another chance to request more, Chae Yoona got up and strutted over to the lonely fisherman still waiting for his team that was running late for dinner.

From afar, Kwan Minhwoo watched the seductress attach herself to the loner and lured him out back with a pleasant smile that any cultured man could understand.

So easy? Looks like she’s got him wrapped around her fingers. Perhaps she wasn’t far from success on this front.

His gaze then swerved over to the agitated baldie who was looking for a punching bag.

All the more reason to prevent some hot-headed idiot from ruining things. But… was that really necessary?

The predator’s gaze searched the store and noticed the missing members…

That army veteran and the suspicious highschool girl!

The sky outside was already dark. So most likely… they won’t be coming back tonight!

That means… tonight might be their best chance to make a move! Four against one, is it still possible to lose?
