Chapter 343: Boiling Rage

Adrian landed in front of this group of masked kidnappers, his eyes briefly scanned the unconscious mermaids.

After making sure they were alive he turned towards the leader of this group, he was a well known merchant.

A toad shifter, he was one of the guests at the banquet, the one Adrian saw sneaking off.

Adrian felt his anger rising the more he looked at this man, " This is my woman’s banquet.

It was supposed to be a joyous day for her, she was happy and relaxed, I haven’t seen her like that in a while now and you just want and ruined it."

A faint red light appeared on his silver eyes, barely visible against the beautifully glowing silver of his eyes.

His aura kept rising with each word, the ground started shaking, it cracked, the boulder they were using to hide was split in half.

" So tell me, how do you prefer to die?" His voice was as cold as ice and each word chilled their hearts.

Two of the kidnappers were level 8 like him but they felt like children in his presence. Adrian raised his hand.

The closest kidnapper to him flew into his hand, Adrian held him up with one hand while choking him.

He looked into the man’s eyes, " Tell me all those you hold dear?" He used compulsion on him.

It’s been a while since he needed to use this ability but it was much stronger now, his telepathy enhanced it even further.

However it didn’t work, " Mindvein, I see, I guess I’ll do things more forcefully then." He pierced his claws into the man’s forehead.

While Adrian’s psionic esper was not as strong as Annie’s, it was still powerful in its own right.

Adrian scanned the man’s memories like a book, the others tried to use this opportunity to escape.

They had barely taken a step when silver wolves made of moon light blocked their path.

The two level 8 kidnappers lunged at the wolves expecting to break through them easily.

But the wolves were like an unmovable wall, everything they touched was covered in a layer of frost.

The coldest pierced so deep it froze even their esper energy rendering then unable to use their abilities.

Seeing there was no hope and knowing he was getting information about them from their comrade they resorted to drastic measures.

" Stop or they’ll die!" One of the two level 8 shouted, Adrian looked at him then at the mermaid on the ground.

He had a knife against her neck, " They’re the reason you’re here right, we know you promised them protection.

But what happens if they die, you’ll lost the trust of the merfolk people, I know your goals, they’re the same as ours aren’t they?

You too seek immortality, I know you’re just playing the long game and if you lose their trust, you’ll lose your chance at immortality.

So here’s my deal, you let him go and we..."

" Go ahead." Adrian interrupted him mid sentence," I made a promise to protect Atlantis, even if three little girls die, Atlantis will stand.

And you speak to me of immortality, it seems you lot lack more knowledge than I gave you credit for.

We seek no immortality, that is merely out birthright, you think we need to harm little girls for that? How pathetic do you think my people are?"

Adrian’s answer made them freeze, it was only then that they remembered a piece of information about werewolves.

" Unkillable." Somebody had told them that but after hearing of the death of one of the leaders.

They figured their so called immortality was just a rumour but perhaps there was some truth to it.

" You’re like the vampires aren’t you? Although you can’t be killed by normal means you can still age.

You don’t want to enter slumber like vampires do, do you? With their hearts, that will no longer be a possibility for you.

My deal still stands, please consider this care..."

The man suddenly felt the temperature around him drop rapidly, frost appeared on the ground and on his body.

He raised his head and met two glowing moons staring down on him, those moons seemed to be tainted by blood.

" First you disturb the banquet of the woman I love, then you dare compare me to those blood sucking bats.

Your insolence knows no bounds little worm." Adrian crushed the neck of the man in his hand.

" I have what I need, you fools will watch as all you hold dear is taken from you, you will die in despair."

" Wait.." they shouted by Adrian disappeared, they looked down and the mermaids were also gone.

Adrian appeared inside the castle, all eyes turned towards him, he placed the mermaids down and turned to leave.

" Adrian wait!" Annie stopped him," Don’t do it please, just punish them but don’t do what I did, don’t let wrath affect you."

She begged him, Adrian knew she was right, he knew the rage inside him while justified was unreasonable at the same time.

He was right to be mad at them but right now he wanted them to feel the worst pain in existence.

He wanted to gruesomely murder their loved ones before their eyes until they feel nothing but despair.

He wants to flail them alive and keep them alive and conscious to feel every second of everything.

He knew the amount of rage he felt didn’t fit what they did and worst still, that rage was not even because of the mermaid kidnapping.

They ruined something Annie was looking forward to, she loved parties, even during Eve’s Demigod banquet she was more excited than Eve herself.

Seeing the smile on her face was gone, his rage boiled even more. He took deep breaths to calm himself.

A voice whispered in his head, telling him to let lose, to release all the rage he felt and burn the world to this satisfaction.

He was of the same mind but looking at the worry in Annie’s eyes he tried to calm himself.

" I don’t care of this world burns to ashes, I don’t care if I murder countless children to calm my anger."

Annie looked even more worried when he said, Adrian continued.

" But you do, to me, your feelings matter more than anything." Annie hugged him tightly.

" Thank you, I really don’t want you to go over the edge Adrian, promise me you’ll always be the man I fell in love with."

He leaned his forehead on her, " Don’t you think it’s a bit too late for that?"

She shook her head, " You’re still a reasonable man, you just had to adjust to this cruel world."

" You have too much faith in me, still though, I need a way to release this anger."

" I might be able to help with that." Said Anyx.
