Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf
Chapter 342: Wrath Of The Primordial
They made their preparations for the banquet in seven days, Suzie and her lineage weren’t happy.
Annie was hands on but to them, as the mate of their primordial, she shouldn’t have to do any of this.
Her job was to sit back and wait for things to be done for her but she wasn’t having any of that.
Seven days went by and the day of the banquet came to be, in those seven days Adrian wasn’t idle either.
Him alongside most of the pack searched every corner of their territory for any aigns of wrath.
They didn’t find anything in those seven days but Adrian didn’t dare relax, he understood above all what his wrath could lead to.
When the big day arrived, he asked Annie a favour. The banquet started early on the morning.
This involved everybody who wanted to come, it was basically a party for the whole city.
What neither of them expected was to see even Demigods had attended, both were witches.
Bred escorted them from the border to the castle, Adrian and Annie recognised one of them.
" Lady Anyx, what a pleasant surprise to see you." Greeted Annie, Anyx smiled back and nodded.
" You’ve grown quite well child, this is my sister, Sprite, she’s the leader of the Spirit covenant."
Anyx introduced the witch next to her, she was just as beautiful as Anyx with long ghostly like hair almost like a thin veil.
Sprite nodded, she didn’t seem like the talkative type, Annie went around greeting other guests.
The day went by and evening came, nothing had gone wrong by then, finally it was time for the guests to bring out their gifts.
Annie sat on her throne alongside Adrian and accepted the gifts, unfortunately none drew her attention.
But she had to be polite so she pretended to like them, Anyx and Sprite came last with their gifts.
" Usually I would’ve given you a prediction of your future, unfortunately your mate shrouds your fate in mist."
Said Anyx looking at Adrian with disapproval, " However we did bring a gift from the covent of witches."
Sprite came forward and revealed a multi coloured pendant," This was made by our older sister.
It’s a defensive and offensive artefact with the power of a Demigod, it won’t last forever but it can save your life in a crisis."
Finally Annie reacted with genuine surprise, a Demigod level artifact was too precious and not easy to forge even for enchantment covenant.
After that, nobody else brought out their gifts, none of them had anything close to that pendant in value anyways.
The banquet continued, Sprite went to find Eve and they chatted all night.
Somewhere in the city, a group of masked people ran across the shadows avoiding the eyes of all those around them.
" Hurry up you lot, this is the only opportunity we’ll ever have." They ran even faster.
Somewhere outside the city was a group of merfolk, three women protected and escorted by a man.
They were heading back home after enjoying the party for a bit, suddenly figures jumped out from the shadows.
The male merfolk reacted and conjured a trident with water, he stabbed one of them but his trident was deflected.
A sword pierced through his chest from behind, he felt vision blurring but before losing consciousness he fired a water ball to the sky.
Bang, the water ball exploded into a shower, its sound travelled all the way to the Atlantic underwater city.
It was even heard in the castle drawing the attention of all the attendees. Adrian’s eyes locked onto a single figure.
As soon as he heard that sound he tried to sneak out, Adrian let him, " I’ll be back." He whispered to Annie.
The king of Atlantis flew out of the castle as fast as he could, when he got to where the male Merfolk was, the others were already gone.
Adrian was standing over the unmoving body of the male Merfolk, " Don’t worry, he’s alive.
I promised to protect your people, I’ll keep my promise." Said Adrian.
" Thank you lord Adrian, I’ll gather my warriors and we’ll search for the mission mermaids."
Adrian shook his head, " That will be unnecessary." He answered coldly, he was trying to keep calm but it was getting harder.
Adrian sniffed the air but there was no scent, ’ I see, they can prepared.’ It made sense, werewolves were no longer an unknown group.
A long time ago, baron Karon managed to hide his scent from Adrian the first time they met.
Adrian didn’t know what he used back then but he had an idea now, it was a flower called wolfvein.
To wolf Gadra it was deadly poison, to werewolves, it renders their noses useless, fortunately it was rare, extremely rare.
Since Adrian couldn’t rely on his nose to track them, he rose to the sky and floated below his wheel.
The sphere at the centre released a flash of light like a torch and scanned the ground, anything the light touches became visible to him.
Somewhere near the border, the group in dark clothing was meeting with their employer and trying to think of a way to leave without being discovered.
They came in because they were invited as guest to the banquet, that bad been their plan.
Their way out was supposed to be teleportation but much to their dismay, they couldn’t teleport.
Something was blocking all teleportation abilities, now they needed to sneak out without being discovered.
" Is the wolfvein still working?" Asked their employer, wolfvein was their only option out now.
The group nodded, " But it won’t last more than 5 hours now, we need to be quick, if we’re discovered.."
The man didn’t need to finish his sentence, they all knew what would happen if the ruler of this place found them.
Just as they were about to move with the unconscious mermaids, they saw silver light scanning the city.
" Shit, run quick." They ran as fast as they could while trying to make as little noise as possible.
Unfortunately for them, the light was too fast and even before they got close to the border it reached them.
They hid beneath a large boulder, unfortunately they’ve underestimated Adrian’s light.
It passed through the boulder like it was transparent glass and scanned all of them.
" Found you." They heard a low voice directly above them, their bodies froze from the terror.
Back at the castle, Annie stood up so fast she drew the attention of everybody, " This isn’t good."
