Chapter 465: Chapter 462: Really?

With that, he turned the tables, cupping the back of her head for an urgent, yet tender kiss.

The kiss was so provocative that Jin Yi, who hadn’t been intimate with Wanwan in a long time, nearly lost control.

Bai Wanwan noticed and started tugging at his waistband. "Do you want to?"

Jin Yi grabbed her wrist, his voice hoarse as he was about to speak, when Zhu Xiu, Yan Lie, and the others who had been out hunting walked in, carrying their prey.

The intimate atmosphere in the room vanished with the blast of cold air.

Bai Wanwan smiled and greeted them, "Hurry in and warm yourselves by the fire. You’re practically snowmen."

Yan Lie, shaking the snowflakes from his body, grinned at her. "I hunted a Snow Beast today. I’ll cook it for you tonight."

"Okay," Bai Wanwan replied, then tugged on Jin Yi’s sleeve and whispered, "The fruit is delicious, but I don’t want you to get frostbitten or hurt. If you happen to find more next time, bring them to me, but please don’t go out specifically to look for them, okay?"

With her tugging on his sleeve and her soft voice in his ears, Jin Yi had no idea what she was saying. He just subconsciously replied, "Okay."

Under the devoted care and meticulous feeding of her Beast Husbands, Bai Wanwan’s cheeks, which had grown thin from travel and worry, gradually filled out, and color returned to her face.

The bitter cold of the snow season had, in her eyes, become a unique and beautiful landscape.

When the snowstorms lessened, she would even enthusiastically tag along with her Beast Husbands on their patrols or hunting trips for a breath of fresh air.

Wrapped in a thick Snow Fox Fur cloak, she would step on the crunching snow, watch how her Beast Husbands nimbly tracked prey through the icy landscape, and even help out a little on occasion. She felt a unique kind of joy, one brimming with primal vitality.

One day, to entertain Wanwan, her Beast Husbands deliberately went easy on a plump, sturdy snowfield boar with ferocious tusks, working together to corner it.

Just as Yan Lie was proudly herding the boar over, Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu suddenly grew wary, scanning their surroundings.

Meanwhile, Yin Ze circled low in the sky, his sharp gaze piercing through the snowstorm. Suddenly, he let out a clear, piercing cry as a warning.

Ahead, where the wind and snow were thickest, more than a dozen shadowy figures emerged.

They were tall, clad in heavy leather armor made from Flood Dragon Scale Skin. Their gazes were sharp and scrutinizing—they were males of the Flood Dragon Clan.

The one in the lead had a cold, hard face and a gaze as sharp as a blade. He swept his eyes over Bai Wanwan’s group, his attention finally landing on the boar they had just killed and the distinctly different beastman auras.

"You!" the lead Flood Dragon Male’s voice was low, filled with an unquestionable accusation. "Have you seen any males from our Flood Dragon Clan?"

His gaze felt tangible as it scraped across the face of each Beast Husband, carrying the typical arrogance of a superior race and a hint of imperceptible scrutiny. His pupils contracted ever so slightly when he saw the Phoenix, Yin Ze, and Zhu Xiu’s massive serpentine body.

The atmosphere instantly grew tense!

Yan Lie slammed the boar from his shoulder onto the snow. Xin Feng turned his silver head toward them. Zhu Xiu silently shifted his massive body, his cold reptilian eyes locking onto the targets.

Jin Yi subtly moved to shield Wanwan behind him. Hua Han also tensed up, his fox-like eyes filled with vigilance.

They all knew perfectly well—the ones these Flood Dragons were looking for were the same group Zhu Xiu had wiped out earlier.

Bai Wanwan felt the murderous aura as her Beast Husbands instantly entered a battle-ready state, yet she turned to the Flood Dragon Male and bloomed a smile that was utterly innocent, even a little naive.

She took half a step forward and answered in a bright, clear voice, "Nope! In this frozen wasteland, we’re too busy trying to find food. Maybe you should try looking somewhere else?"

Her voice was crisp and pleasant, as if she were truly just a young, naive female who knew nothing of the world.

However, the Flood Dragon leader’s gaze remained fixed on her face, especially on her eyes, which were clear without a single trace of impurity.

He frowned deeply, as if he’d caught a sense of indescribable familiarity. "Wait!" he snapped. "Take off your fur hat!"

Bai Wanwan’s smile didn’t waver. She just sighed softly, the sound tinged with a hint of regret. ’The game’s ending early.’

She raised her hand and, unhurriedly, removed the thick Snow Fox Fur hat, revealing an exquisitely beautiful face that now held a look of playful coldness.

"Sigh. I was hoping to play with you a little longer," she said, tilting her head. Her tone was as light as if she were discussing the weather. "But since you’re no fun..."

The smile on her face vanished. Her eyes instantly became as cold as ancient glaciers, and her voice cut through the wind and snow. "Just kill them."

The males moved almost the instant the words left her mouth.

Zhu Xiu’s massive serpentine body shot out like an arrow from a bow, carrying the terrifying pressure of a Red Rank, transforming into a silver flash of lightning as he lunged for the Flood Dragon leader!

His venomous fangs glinted with a deadly light in the snowstorm.

At the same time, Yin Ze shot into the air, his golden-red wings kicking up a fierce gale that precisely blanketed the rear of the Flood Dragon troop, cutting off their retreat.

The figures of Xin Feng and Jin Yi appeared like phantoms around the Flood Dragon Males. In the next moment, sharp claws swiftly tore through their tough leather armor and slit their throats...

Fast! Precise! Vicious!

Her Beast Husbands worked in perfect, seamless coordination! Under the sudden assault and overwhelming power, the dozen or so Flood Dragon Males with Orange Rank Talents couldn’t even mount an effective resistance.

The sounds of screams, cracking bones, and tearing scales were instantly half-swallowed by the howling wind and snow.

In the span of just a few breaths, large, jarring patches of scarlet bloomed across the white snow. Only one Flood Dragon Male was left, pinned firmly to the ground under Yan Lie’s claw.

He had witnessed the horrifying sight of his companions being reaped like wheat and was scared out of his wits. His body trembled like a leaf in the wind. Despite the winter cold, his forehead was beaded with cold sweat.

"Don’t... don’t kill me! I’ll talk, I’ll tell you everything!" Snot and tears streamed down his face as he struggled desperately, trying to kowtow and beg for mercy.

Bai Wanwan strolled over and looked down at him. "Oh? Then let’s hear what you have to say."

’As for how much of it is true, and whether I’ll believe it, that’s another matter entirely.’

She didn’t expect these beastmen to tell her the truth. Daring to swap a female cub and also conceal her scent—this was definitely not something ordinary beastmen could accomplish.

The mastermind behind this wouldn’t have casually told these small fry their true objective.

"If... if I tell you... will you spare me?" The Flood Dragon Male clung to this question as if it were his last lifeline.

Bai Wanwan’s lips twitched into a cold, humorless smile. "If what you say is the truth, I might consider letting you live."

Feeling the tangible, icy killing intent from the top-tier males around him, the Flood Dragon Male was so scared he nearly wet himself. He didn’t dare bargain any further and quickly blurted out, "It’s... it’s because of you! In the Flood Dragon Tribe, to ensure the purity of the bloodline, the Clan Leader’s Wife only has one Beast Husband. You... you are the female cub our Clan Leader’s Wife secretly gave birth to with another male all those years ago! The Clan Leader’s Wife... she doesn’t want you to show up alive! She’s afraid you’ll threaten her status and... and her current family! That’s why... that’s why she sent us to eliminate you!"

After blurting it all out in one breath, he cautiously peeked at Bai Wanwan’s expression.

"Is that so?" Bai Wanwan blinked. Her long eyelashes fluttered in the snowy wind, and her face took on an expression of almost childlike curiosity.
