Jin Cang’s eyes lit up. "Are you saying that kid has actually fallen for Bai Wanwan?"

It sounded less like a question for Jin Cang and more like he was talking to himself. After speaking, the tension in his face eased.

After resting for two days, Bai Wanwan’s spirits had improved greatly, and her strength had returned.

The afternoon sun was perfect. She sat lazily in front of her house, sunbathing, while two fluffy little cubs tumbled at her feet, occasionally pawing at the hem of her skirt.

A little cub tilted its head back, its big, glistening eyes staring up at her, its tail wagging joyfully.

The cubs could already understand her. They heard their Mother’s footsteps right beside them, yet she couldn’t find them. Thrilled and excited, they wagged their tails so hard they looked like propellers.

Bai Wanwan deliberately circled the area a few times before calling out, "My cubs, where are you hiding? You’re too good! Mama can’t find you at all."

The little wolf cub, completely unable to contain itself, suddenly leaped out of the grass. It hopped and skipped to her feet, grinning from ear to ear as it bounced around excitedly.

Bai Wanwan laughed and scooped it into her arms, cuddling it and covering it with kisses. "Mama’s cub is so clever! You hid so well, Mama couldn’t find you."

The other cubs also ran out, demanding her praise.

Of course, she wouldn’t play favorites. Each one received a round of praise, kisses, and hugs from her.

"Alright, little ones, go play on your own for a bit." ’Raising cubs is exhausting.’

She patted their bottoms and sent them off to play by themselves.

Yan Lie had gone into the mountains to hunt and scout the area today. Zhu Xiu was also investigating the matter of the Golden Lions, leaving only Xin Feng inside preparing lunch.

She was about to go inside to help, but when she turned, she walked right into a broad chest.

Bai Wanwan was just about to tease him more when she suddenly heard Yan Lie’s voice from behind the stone house.

Yan Lie was carrying his prey, his strides quick. He hadn’t seen Wanwan for most of the day and longed to hold his little female.

Hearing Yan Lie’s call, Bai Wanwan was about to respond.

But Zhu Xiu suddenly swept her up into his arms, and with a quick movement, he carried her into a nearby alley.

"What is it?"

Bai Wanwan obediently fell silent, looking at Zhu Xiu questioningly.

"When you’re with me, I don’t want that dumb leopard interrupting us."

"Then what do you want to do?"

Bai Wanwan poked his chest with a fair finger, a teasing look in her eyes.

She had no idea just how sinfully alluring she looked with that provocative, teasing expression.

Zhu Xiu’s eyes narrowed, his gaze suddenly turning dark and dangerous.

Bai Wanwan sensed that she had gone too far, a bad feeling creeping over her.

Sure enough, the next second, Zhu Xiu grabbed the back of her head and brought his lips down on hers in a fierce kiss.

His kiss was forceful and undeniable, domineering and fervent.

In just a moment, Bai Wanwan went limp against him, able only to clutch his lapels and gasp for air.

Their breaths mingled, as if they were about to melt into one.

In the distance, Yan Lie’s voice called out again. "Wanwan? Xin Feng, have you seen Wanwan?"

Xin Feng had been keeping an eye on Wanwan and the cubs, so he had seen Zhu Xiu return.

He knew Wanwan’s disappearance had to be Zhu Xiu’s doing.

So, he wasn’t worried.

He just said to Yan Lie at the entrance, "Look around a bit more. Maybe she went to find Shi Hua."

Hearing Yan Lie looking for her, Bai Wanwan pushed at the figure in front of her, gaining a moment’s respite to catch her breath.

"Yan Lie is looking for me. Should we go back?"

But Zhu Xiu didn’t pull away. His body remained pressed tightly against hers, making her feel the full extent of his desire.

"Let’s see if he can find you, then."

His thumb brushed over her reddened lips. "Trying to take you from me right now? Don’t even think about it."

With that, he tightened his arms, hoisting her up effortlessly. He then spun around and strode off toward a more distant and secluded spot...

Yan Lie searched for a long time but couldn’t find Bai Wanwan. He was starting to get anxious, but then he saw Xin Feng’s perfectly calm expression.

He finally put two and two together. "You know where Wanwan is, don’t you?"

Xin Feng lifted his gaze to look at him, a faint smile on his face. "Wanwan is safe. Don’t worry."

Xin Feng’s words made it all clear to Yan Lie.

"Zhu Xiu took her, didn’t he?"

"Mhm. They’ll be back in a little while. Don’t worry."

Once he was sure Wanwan was safe, Yan Lie relaxed.

He sat down on a stone stool by the entrance, watching over the cubs while butchering his prey to feed them.

"Don’t fight over it. There’s plenty."

Yan Lie smiled as he fed the cubs. Even though their Father Beast wasn’t him, they were Wanwan’s children, so he found them cuter than any other cubs.

As he was feeding them, he heard a noise up ahead and looked up in that direction.

After getting a clear look, he shot to his feet and darted into the stone house like a bolt of lightning.
