Chapter 4173: Ambush the Ambush?
Chapter 4173: Ambush the Ambush?
After the appearance of the twins’ group in the Reincarnation Path, the watch over the Abyssal Paths intensified even further. That was especially the case for the Abyssal Paths inside the Werdlem Universe.
Soza was confused. The twins were managing to leave and come back to the Werdlem Universe, and their security was supposed to be foolproof. Everyone’s identity was thoroughly checked down to their DNA. Even the Space Stations were no different. So, how were the twins managing to travel between places?
What surprised Soza even more was that he almost got them in the Reincarnation Path before Roan and the others simply disappeared. He saw the Spatial Entrance of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm left behind, and he didn’t think twice before attacking it. However, as fast as the twins’ group disappeared from the Reincarnation Path, so did the Spatial Entrance to their Dimensional Realm. How was that possible?
However, it wasn’t all lost for Soza. The twins now revealed another method available to them, which obviously included entering their Dimensional Realm. Soza passed the information forward. Now, everyone who engaged the twins’ group would have to first scramble the space around the area to make sure they couldn’t enter their Dimensional Realm anymore, and that also prevented those inside from coming out.
As mentioned before, experts at the Space-Time Realm and above could easily do so. It’s just that the idea of running into one’s Pocket Dimensional Realm looked like nothing but suicide until now. That’s why when people enter their Pocket Dimensional Realms, they make sure they are in a safe enough place to do so. Once an entrance is found and it is attacked from outside, a Pocket Dimensional Realm can easily collapse, killing everything and everyone inside. That’s the reason no one thought of stopping the twins’ group from running into their own before.
Now, going back to the intensified search for the twins’ group, the Werdlm Empire focused on two places. The first one was the Great Void Black Hole, BH1. Hick mentioned that the Werdlem Empire definitely knew Default was inside, so the protection put around it was airtight. This time, there were even formations that completely blocked the use of Pocket Dimensional Realms.
The second place was, as said before, the Abyssal Paths...
---
On the Sungon Continent, there was an Abyssal Path that was frequently used for those intending to travel to the central area of the Divine Realm. Of course, it was actually a Great Void Shifter Formation that used it. There was another good thing about this Great Void Shifter, though. It was one of the arrival points for those coming to the Werdlem Universe through the Great Void Spaceships. Then, by simply swapping from one Great Void Shifter to another, one could go to the Great Void Black Hole as well.
Peak Stage Divinity Realm experts often get here from the A-ranked universes, especially when they aren’t rich enough to pay for the Great Void Shifters that cross universes. It goes without saying that, as one of the shifters connected to BH1, this Shifter also had a group of Celestials and an Abyssal beast watching over it.
They weren’t in Sugon, though. This group was stationed in outer space. To be more specific, they were halfway between Sungon Continent and BH1. There was another ambush prepared here, and if the Abyssal Beast detected the use of the Abyssal Path without the use of the Great Void Shifter Formation, it would immediately break the connection. That would cause anyone using the Abyssal Path to come out right in the middle of the ambush.
Mamato, that’s the name of the Abyssal Beast. He was just a Middle Stage Space-Time Realm expert, but that didn’t matter when it came to breaking the path and forcing those inside out. The Celestials were also here to protect him, over thirty of them, and different from the time the twins first fell into this kind of ambush, this one had plenty of high-level formations that would definitely give the ambushers a huge advantage.
"You’d better not be slacking," a Celestial spoke to Mamato, his name Gfukei.
Mamato looked at him, his expression dark. "I can’t slack off even if I wanted to. You guys have the seal on my soul and the rest of our race back in the Starway, remember? Don’t worry. If I feel anyone taking the Abyssal Path in the same way we Abyssal Beasts do, I will cut the connection and force them out inside the trap."
Gfukei nodded. "Good. Well, truth be told, even though we have to be alert, we are likely not finding them. There are many other shifters connecting to BH1, and who said those guys would use a Shifter to go to BH1 in the first place?"
Mamato knew that. "Yeah, yeah... You told me you got them once, but couldn’t stop them. I find it hard to believe they would even try this."
*Vup!*
Suddenly, a Divinity Realm appeared close by, quickly approaching before kneeling in midspace. "Senior Gfukei, something seems wrong with the energy modulation core of the formations."
Gfukei narrowed his eyes. "The core? Tch... it is fine. There are backups in place. Just make sure to send the formations masters to replace it."
"That’s the thing..." his subordinate bitterly smiled. "I wouldn’t have bothered you with such a trivial matter. Yet, when we went to check on the formations masters, they seemed to have left. It’s something about being called to another group to place more formations, so we don’t have any formations masters that can work with these kinds of formations at the moment."
"That’s ridiculous," Gfukei narrowed his eyes. "You would need my permission to be allowed to leave. Unless the Werdlem Empire asked them directly, they wouldn’t possibly just take orders from anyone else."
Gfukei pondered a bit. "Are the backups working?"
"Seems like so," his subordinate confirmed.
"Very well," Gfukei found it strange and decided on what to do. "We can’t leave this place without orders. Contact the Werdlem Empire and have them explain why my formations masters wer-"
*Crack, crack, crack...*
Yet, before he could finish his words, the sound of something breaking echoed in the space, a sound carried by the leak of Divine Origin Energy. When Gfukei looked in the direction of the sound, he saw it. The containment formation, which was built in this area to trap the twins’ group in case they used the Abyssal Path, began to break down!
Not only that. All around, the slaughtering and support formations also lost control, everything plunging into chaos! "What the hell?!"
Gfukei didn’t know what was happening, but the Celestials under his command immediately gathered. "I don’t know how, but our location here in the middle of nowhere has been found! We are under attack! Immediately contact the Werdlem Empire!"
"Sorry, but that won’t work," another voice echoed, Gfukei and his companions immediately turning their heads. There, behind Mamato, a white-haired boy appeared. Who else would it be if not Rean? "Goodbye, little beast!"
*Swish!*
Just like that, Rean cut the Abyssal Beast’s head! Rean gave no chance for the Celestials to save Mamato. No, to be more specific, Mamato’s group never thought it possible for Rean to appear right there in the first place!
