Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1100: Why His Name Everywhere

Chapter 1100: Why His Name Everywhere

With how many police officers were in the area, and with how much magic had been cast, the Dark Guild members who were attempting to escape would have been hit by the attacks in some sort of way.

On top of that, even if they managed to break out of the formation, then they would be pursued, and it would be hard to lose the officers before changing their clothing and getting back to their everyday life.

Yet, the police officers’ attacks had been stopped, and it was by one man.

“I’m telling you, Chief, right now to comply with the orders!” Alen shouted. “Those people in there, they were told they would be safe. If I don’t stop you, then all of their lives will be lost because of something that I said!”

“So I will do everything in my power to stop you. Do you want to make an enemy of me as well!”

The chief looked ahead for a moment, looking into Alen’s eyes. Would Alen really fight back the police force, regardless of his position, for just a simple promise, or was it some type of bluff?

Lifting up his bracelet, the chief had made the decision. “All officers, stand down, do not pursue, I repeat, do not pursue, this is a direct order.”

After the message had been sent out, Alen waited for a moment. He saw the first set of Dark Guild members fly over the police force, and just as ordered, not a single one of them had given chase to the Dark Guild members.

“Hey, they’re really not following us!” A member said.

“Right, it was just as the Dark Magus said. How could he have predicted this? He’s amazing!”

“That’s the person who we follow. You saw his power, how he appeared out of nowhere, and his determination. We are members of that guild!” Another member said as they continued to rush off.

“I better head inside,” Alen said. “Before he runs away. If we can protect the people and get him, it will be a success.”

Raze was now on his own with the hostages in question. Around four hundred people who had gathered, most of them were mages themselves. A mix of students wishing to perhaps join the Orian Guild or see what joining a guild was like.

While their parents were there to support them. Never had they imagined their day would turn into an event like this. Most of them were scared from maybe never going into the field again.

“Why… why is this happening to us?” A young female student cried as she fell to her knees. The adrenaline running through her body, along with the series of events, was too much for her as she fell to the floor and started to cry.

Her mother immediately knelt down and started to comfort her, and began to rub the top of her head. “Shhh, shh, it’s okay, it’s okay, we’re nearly out now, it’s going to be okay.”

“Shut your daughter up,” another man sneered. “Or we’re all going to be killed.”

“Don’t worry,” Raze answered from the podium. “I won’t take your lives. I’m not a saint by any means. I never declared myself as a good person, but I am not a person who will kill recklessly.”

“Getting rid of you will not further my goal in the slightest. As much as you all may think, I am not a madman,” Raze answered.

“Right, you say that, yet you caused all of this,” Alen answered as he had returned. “So stick to your promise now; you’re going to let all of these people go, right?”

Raze nodded as he was on stage and waved his hand, gesturing for them to leave. Everyone was frightened to take the first step. Seeing this, Alen walked to the girl on the floor and lifted her hand.

“If he attacks, I’ll protect you, don’t worry,” Alen stated as he walked her to the door and saw that the robed man did nothing. It was slow at first, only a few people exiting from the guild, but they all soon hurried, rushing out of the door.

Finally, everyone was out of the room, and now the only two left were Alen, who was on the ground, and Raze, who was standing there on the stage.

“You kept your promise, and although I think you’re a sick man for doing all of this, I have to thank you for keeping your word,” Alen stated. “But now, it’s time for me to take you down and bring you in.”

“Haha, yes, a deal is a deal,” Raze answered. “Unfortunately, I promised to only stay with the hostages until they were gone. I never promised that the two of us would fight.”

Alen felt like a fool as he raised both hands, ready to cast a spell, but before he knew it, the robed man in front of him, his entire body disappeared, and he knew it was useless. Quickly, Alen jumped from his position, producing fire magic from his hands, and he landed on the platform.

He tried to look for any traces of anything.

“Teleportation magic, but that’s impossible, there’s no circle here, or anything drawn on the ground. Was it an artifact, then? Damn it, damn it!” Alen said as he slapped his hand on top of his forehead.

“So many crazy things have happened today, him coming to visit me and this. My head is really filled at the moment… I don’t even know if I’m doing the right things anymore.”

The event was all everyone could talk about, with news reports constantly covering what had happened to the Orian Guild, and the main tagline of it all was: The Dark Magus Returns! It was plastered everywhere, and no matter where one looked, they had known of the event.

In a large central glass building in the center of the city, with a golden ‘I’ placed on the outside, at one of the very top floors, a particular man was sitting at his desk. Wearing white gloves, both of them had golden markings of the letter ‘I’ placed on them. “The Dark Magus… died that day. All of us saw it, so how could this have happened? In Pagna, in Alterian, why is it everywhere I go, I am hearing his name?”
