Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1101: A Way To Combat Time

Chapter 1101: A Way To Combat Time

The Dark Guild members had managed to escape from a tough situation. When they were far enough from the scene, they had quickly shifted from their dark robes, changing into their regular clothing.

It was one of the first techniques that Harvey made sure to teach them all, as secrecy being discovered was of utmost importance. The larger the network of Dark Guild members in the world of Alterian, the easier it was to achieve their goal.

Slowly, it would break down the large networks, the large guilds, and more that were all built up by the Grand Magus. For Harvey, he had decided to head underground, moving to a particular meeting place.

As he walked through, most of the underground inhabitants ignored him, not even having basic access to what was going on above, nor caring about what others were doing, just struggling and thinking about where they were going to get their next meal.

Eventually, Harvey had reached the fallen church, the usual gathering place, where two guards were currently present.

“Fear the unseen!” The Guard said.

“For we are always near!” Harvey said in a joyous voice. “I love it, I love it, everything worked out perfectly.”

“Worked out perfectly?” A female voice said.

When Harvey entered the regular fallen seating area, he could see another individual was waiting in the same place. Just by her robes, he knew that it was Kelly. She was sitting on top of a fallen pillar-like structure of sorts with her arms folded.

“I saw what happened; I mean, I think everyone saw what happened,” Kelly said. “Was that really your plan? You even ended up getting the Dark Magus involved.”

“Right, and it worked out perfectly. The losses to the Dark Guild were minimal thanks to everything that happened. I had expected greater losses, but due to the Dark Magus’s quick thinking, everything worked out!”

It was hard for Kelly to try and talk to Harvey when he was like this. He was the original person who had found her, making this group of theirs together, but the more she spent with him, the more she was realizing she didn’t exactly like his ways.

If the Dark Magus hadn’t gotten involved, a lot of Dark Guild members might have died. Equally, when trying to escape, those members would have fought for their lives, and even more would have perished.

She had heard further details from existing members as she had asked them to give her an update on the situation, so she knew a lot more than just what was shown on the large screen.

“What are you doing here anyway?” Harvey asked. “Is there something you wanted to talk about? Maybe we should discuss the next moves of the Dark Magus. There’s problems in the academy, and Ibarin is there, right? Maybe if the students start learning magic, we can start to cause chaos from the root of all of this.”

Kelly quickly stood and shook her hands. “We shouldn’t try to do things freely on our own,” Kelly answered. “The Dark Magus has his reasons for doing things and asking us to do them in a particular order. I’m sure you have realized it as well.”

This was the only way for Kelly to somewhat calm down Harvey whenever he had these radical ideas, was to say that it wasn’t the Dark Magus’s way, or his way of thinking about things.

She was sure, if Harvey was on his own, and they had never met the Dark Spirit, the oath of the entire guild, along with her, would have gone very differently.

“I’m actually here to meet the Dark Magus. He said he would arrive soon, as he wanted to know what I found out for him,” Kelly replied.

“You’re right, you’re right, we can’t predict what the Dark Magus can do. He is a man whose caliber is far above our own! He is able to foresee what needs to be done. I’m sure the task he gave you is to all line up for the future. Did you see, the man could even use a sword better than a top sword mage! The Dark Magus… is truly the gifted one that will come and reset this world.”

When she heard Harvey talk like this, she often thought about what had happened to him. Why did he start to learn dark magic? She knew her own reasons, her reasons for supporting the dark mage, but what were Harvey’s? What would a chief police officer possibly want to learn dark magic for?

In the middle of the thoughts and the rambling, both of them turned their heads to the usual spot, as they could see particles start to gather, and eventually, as always, the Dark Spirit had formed a full-fledged body in front of them.

“Well, that situation turned out a lot better than I expected it would,” Raze said to himself. “I managed to get out of that with as little fighting as possible.”

Immediately, Harvey got down on one knee, and seeing this, Kelly did the same.

“It was spectacular, Dark Magus!” Harvey said. “And thanks to your hard work, most of the guild members were able to get out. I’m sure now everyone will know the guild’s name and your name.”

“That’s good. I wanted to check up on things. For now, it’s best if the Dark Guild stays low after a large event. I’m sure they, as well as the general public, will be worried, wondering when we will strike next. It will put a lot of fatigue on them, and we also have to sit and observe, waiting to see what they do.”

It was the first time for Raze that he was going after the Grand Magus and he had help by his side, so he had to do things slightly differently as to how he would do them himself.

“As for you, did you manage to gather information?”

Kelly pulled out a journal that magically appeared in her hands and then handed it over to Raze. With a quick look, he could see all of the recorded names of those that knew Time Magic. On top of that, everything that was known to do with Time Magic.

“On the list is the last emperor of Alterian, just like he said,” Raze muttered to himself.

‘This journey has been far better than I expected. I might have just figured out a way to combat Time Magic as well.’
