Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1099: A Deal Is A Deal

Chapter 1099: A Deal Is A Deal

Alen, from the corner of his eye, was looking at the panicked people that were in the center. He then looked toward the Dark Guild mages. He knew the gist of the situation from the news broadcast, and he was hoping by his surprise entry he could deal with multiple of the Dark Guild members.

One’s first instinct when they had an attacker was to defend themselves or to attack the person attacking them. They didn’t think of using hostages until they felt like their back was truly up against the wall.

What Alen didn’t count on was that there would be someone who was able to match his power. Derailing all of his plans, it allowed the members of the Dark Guild to stay calm, and with it, they now had all of their hands pointed towards the hostages. It was the worst position for Alen to be in.

‘I went past several of the police officers on the way here. They must be gathered outside just now, but they won’t come in so hastily… in this type of situation, it might even be a good thing,’ Alen thought as he looked towards the man.

“As I said, we have no interest in the people here,” Raze continued as he could see various thoughts were running through Alen’s mind. “We have already split the blood that needed to be split. Right now, I guarantee that no blood will be shed further unless it’s necessary.”

Normally, Raze wouldn’t try such a thing, such a negotiation with an individual. He knew there were plenty of people who would go back on their word, say what needed to be said to gain an advantage in the situation. In Raze’s world, it wasn’t good to trust anyone; however, he had dealt with Alen, and now he was using this knowledge to his advantage.

“A deal goes both ways, you bastard!” Alen shouted. “So what do you want?”

“All members of the Dark Guild are free to leave this place. No one is to tail them for at least five minutes. After that, they can do as they wish. To earn your trust, I will stay here with you and with the people.

“If the order is not complete, then the people inside here die?”

Raze staying with Alen was two parts to the deal. For one, he would be worried that Raze could eliminate all of the hostages, and as for the second part, Alen would feel like he had a chance to capture the main man behind it all.

Besides all of that, even if the deal was unfairly in Alen’s favor, he would happily have done anything to save the people because that’s just what type of person he was.

“Fine,” Alen said.

“Then, I think it would be best if you head outside and tell the people not to attack our fellow people now, otherwise, the deal will be off,” Raze said.

Alen grunted, but he decided to head outside. He thought about it for a moment; maybe with the help of the others, he could do something, but it was too risky. He didn’t understand the capabilities of Dark Magic or the power the robed leader had.

If he was on the same level as himself, Alen knew it was very easy to get rid of all of the hostages on the inside.

As soon as Alen had left the room, Raze turned to Harvey.

“Take me to the item room immediately. After that, I’ll return here. When I do, everyone is to escape this place as soon as possible. Run back, and you can regroup another time.”

“What if he attacks?” Another Guild member asked.

Harvey wanted to use his own powers to zap the guild member right there and then. How dare he ask the great Dark Magus a stupid question.

“He won’t trust me; you will be safe, just go as far as you can,” Raze answered. “As for you, Harvey, we will meet at the usual place after this. Stay safe.”

Harvey nodded, and the guild members quickly moved Raze to the item room. Using his special blazer, he was able to store all of the items that he needed inside. A vast amount of magical equipment, some of them yet to be enchanted, and a large amount of power stones to be used as they wished as well.

Right after Raze had re-entered the central room, and seeing that he was back, the Dark Guild members understood, as they all started to head out of the guild, exiting from all the different exits as quickly as possible.

“None of you should move,” Raze said as he looked at the people on the stage. “If you don’t move, you will live.”

Some of them had thought about it for a second as they saw the last Dark Guild member leave the room, but they stayed put, hearing Raze’s words. His voice deep and clear, with the power to follow through with his words.

On the outside, several vehicles had been parked up, surrounding the guild base. They stayed quite far away, not entering the territory of the guild base, staying just outside of the patched grass and onto the main road.

Alen had already come out and talked with the chief officer in charge.

“What do you mean, let them go!” The chief shouted. “We’re talking about mass murderers in here, and they all know Dark Magic as well. If we let them go, my head will be on a plank!”

“And would you rather have so many people die inside instead!” Alen shouted. “We are talking with those that have already killed. At least the guild were the only ones that were hurt; we’re talking about children in there as well!”

The chief was mumbling to himself as he was thinking about what to do, and in the middle of it all, he could see several Dark Mages coming out, rushing from the guild base. They weren’t just using Dark magic this time; they were using all of the elements to get as far away as they could while also staying out of sight.

Several of the officers acted out, firing magical spells out toward the Dark mages. In an instant, though, Alen swung his arm, and a large line of fire covered part of the sky. It hit all of the magic spells, almost absorbing the attacks.

“I’m telling you now!” Alen said. “I won’t let those people inside die!”
