Chapter 1605: Chapter 806: A Squad (2)

Meanwhile, other participants also entered the forest one after another. The District Chief hurried back to the military tent.

"Is the special operations team ready?" asked the District Chief.

"Naturally, and that soldier from before has also returned to the team. This time, he’s determined to trip up Lin Beichen, making him unable to pass the assessment," reported the staff truthfully.

Upon hearing this, the District Chief’s lips curled into a smile. In his view, these people probably weren’t a match for Lin Beichen.

Lin Beichen moved slowly through the forest, his only navigation tool being the compass in his hand.

He knew very well that as long as no fighting occurred, he had to race against time. Moreover, it was afternoon and the sun was shining brightly, making it a good time to move forward.

Once night fell, he needed to find a safe place to hide. After all, if there really were special operations teams around, night operations would undoubtedly be their forte.

Lin Beichen was also calculating that if he could get a set of special operations gear, especially a sniper rifle, it would be perfect.

He continued forward, the entire afternoon went quite smoothly, with even time to have a hearty meal in the forest. In the blink of an eye, night descended.

Others seemed unaware of any anomalies, still moving forward at a leisurely pace, as long as they could overcome the various challenges in the forest.

However, at this moment, gunfire suddenly rang out.

Lin Beichen became alert instantly, understanding that those people had started to act.

Based on the gunfire, he judged the position was likely in the left front. From the sound of the gunfire, it seemed likely a sniper rifle was involved, which meant there might be a sniper nearby.

With his rich experience in actual combat, Lin Beichen speculated that these people might choose to wait for him.

Without thinking much, he continued forward cautiously. Not long after, another gunshot rang out.

"Three hundred meters!" Lin Beichen promptly judged, indicating the sniper rifle was positioned not far ahead.

He immediately chose to crawl forward through the forest, occasionally tossing stones towards potential shooting positions.

Based on the gunfire, he gradually determined that he had quietly reached the rear of two individuals.

This was a rare and golden opportunity.

While the two in front were focused on searching for their target, Lin Beichen suddenly launched a charge, engaging two opponents and quickly unfolding the battle. Due to his preparedness, he swiftly subdued the two.

"This is a military exercise, you two have lost your combat capabilities," Lin Beichen announced loudly.

At that moment, blue smoke emerged from the two individuals, indicating they were eliminated.

Without hesitation, Lin Beichen put on their gear and scavenged their rations. However, one of them couldn’t bear to watch.

"Could you leave us a bit? There’s still several days ahead, returning like this would be too embarrassing," the person pleaded.

"Alright!" Lin Beichen thought for a moment, eventually leaving them some rations, and then departed with the rest.

However, the situation was far more complex than he imagined.

Although Lin Beichen had acquired weapons, helmets, night-vision goggles, and various gear, advancing further in this forest remained full of challenges.

"What? We lost two people?" the District Chief was shocked upon hearing the news.

"Who did it? Do we know?" the District Chief pressed on.

Through individual combat video images, they discovered it was indeed Lin Beichen.

"I knew he could do it," Chen Bin remarked as he walked in.

"Good day, Officer!" everyone saluted.

"Alright, let’s not discuss this now, let’s observe the situation. If I’m not mistaken, he’ll have even more surprising actions next," Chen Bin said.

Lin Beichen continued to operate in the hills, at this moment, the only individual with combat capabilities.

Of course, the special team not only had snipers but also soldiers specialized in capturing.

Lin Beichen could only proceed with increased caution.

Suddenly, he heard a faint noise and immediately lay down to hide. It was already night, the forest pitch-black, only night-vision goggles helping him see the road ahead.

Indeed, just then, several individuals from the special operations team slowly passed by in front of him, without noticing him.

Lin Beichen suddenly had an idea.

Though there were only a few individuals, it essentially formed a small team.

He quickly prepared his sniper rifle, and after those individuals walked a distance away, fired a shot directly at one of the machine gunners.

"Who?" The other two immediately became alert, looking back.

Soon after, several stones suddenly flew in.

Just as the two were dodging, Lin Beichen suddenly charged out, knocking them to the ground.

Lin Beichen had no time to hesitate, rushing forward in a flurry of punches and kicks, quickly resolving one person. The adjacent fighter, seeing the scene, was completely shocked, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

"So it’s you." Lin Beichen focused his gaze, surprised to see that this individual was the soldier from before, and a jungle combat expert.

"Huh, today I’m specifically targeting you," Lin Beichen said coldly.

But the soldier was no match for Lin Beichen, single-handedly defeated within three moves. Lying on the ground, he appeared despondent and bewildered, filled with distress.

"Haha! Sorry about that." Lin Beichen said, beginning to scavenge weapons and equipment from them. After finishing, he sat on the ground, starting to wait.

Not long after, three individuals appeared before Lin Beichen.

"Who!" the three asked cautiously.

"I’m not a special squad member, take a closer look, I’m the one who led you through the swamp previously," Lin Beichen quickly explained.

These individuals inspected closely, recognizing him, and slowly set their minds at ease.

"My goodness, you managed to handle four special forces soldiers alone," one of them exclaimed in surprise.

"It’s not that difficult, I’ve made quite a name abroad, and you guys are going to be instructors. With this gear, us four moving together is safer than solo," Lin Beichen said.

Thus, the team composition evolved into a sniper, a machine gunner, a fighter, and a scout. The items they carried were quite simple.

"Everyone, listen up, it’s late now. If we continue forward as planned, we have to find a way to break through their blockade line," Lin Beichen said.

These individuals had no choice, as in nighttime they couldn’t use flashlights, they had to follow Lin Beichen’s direction.

"They dispersed the entire special forces unit, deployed here, so their numbers are surely limited. My idea is simple, we’ll form a small team to confront them. I believe more people might join later, but it doesn’t mean everyone will last until the end. We are members of this small team, must work together, understood?" Lin Beichen continued.

The other three nodded.

"Also, the operation command stays with me, everyone must follow my orders. For now, we form a small team, led by me," Lin Beichen said.

Thus, a small team was officially formed. They continued to stealthily move forward, equipped with night-vision goggles, cautiously advancing. But Lin Beichen didn’t dare let his guard down, knowing the forest was fraught with danger.

A casual sound could trigger unforeseen changes. Sure enough, soon after, they heard someone mysteriously blasted out of the situation.

"Seems they prepared land mines," Lin Beichen noted.

The next test they faced appeared to be the second challenge — the minefield. But crossing this region under the cover of night wasn’t easy.

Lin Beichen checked the time, and based on usual conditions, the route should be correct.
