Comprehension Ability: Creating the Five Thunders Technique in Reality
Chapter 1604 - 806: A Squad
Chapter 1604: Chapter 806: A Squad
"So, what is the purpose of our military? Are you not going to lend a helping hand even when civilians face difficulties in the future?"
The soldier was left speechless and could only stand there awkwardly, at a loss for what to do.
"Alright! Let’s start lunch now. Today’s lunch is simple, everyone take a look at what’s in the cage?"
The district chief pointed to the side, where a cage was filled with rats just caught from the ground.
However, these rats weren’t the harmful ones carrying germs.
Everyone looked at each other in astonishment, while the soldier showed signs of joy, as eating these during field training was routine for them.
"How do we eat these animals?" someone couldn’t help but ask.
"Good question, naturally, you eat with your mouth," the district chief replied with a smile, then drew a knife from his waist and swiftly gutted a rat.
Although many had seen this survival method of special forces on TV, facing the bloody reality and eating this stuff was a challenge, causing some to vomit involuntarily.
Lin Beichen remained unperturbed, thinking that if his troops could eat such things, it would be a feast befitting an emperor.
"Report!"
Lin Beichen walked straight up to the district chief.
"I’m willing to be the first to eat a rat."
Saying this, he took the knife, quickly gutted a rat, and immediately swallowed the innards as fast as he could.
Seeing this, everyone felt even more nauseated.
"What’s the big deal about eating this? If you have the guts, let’s see who can eat bugs!" The soldier couldn’t stand it and challenged him.
Everyone knew that bugs were rich in various proteins, and eating one could indeed provide a different kind of energy.
Seeing this, everyone shook their heads, looking dejected.
"I say, you two, stop competing over this trivial thing; it’s not something great," someone advised.
The district chief, however, walked up with a smile.
"Today’s lunch is the second stage of the test. Whoever doesn’t want to eat will be automatically eliminated; if you eat it, you’re a champion, and it doesn’t matter even if you throw it up."
With no choice, everyone stepped forward one by one, picked up their rats, and ate the innards as required by the district chief, albeit reluctantly.
However, some indeed had strong physical reactions, throwing up not long after eating.
The district chief, however, said nothing more.
"You’re just not used to it. I’m telling you, if you can’t even get through this stage, how can you command those soldiers?"
Hearing this, everyone could only smile wryly.
"Fine! Let’s just go for it!"
After throwing up, that person picked up another rat and continued eating despite vomiting, until he no longer retched.
Seeing his craziness, those nearby followed suit, and before long, there weren’t enough rats to go around.
The district chief did not intervene, knowing that these people were willing to go all out to pass the test.
On the other side, Lin Beichen continued his "competition."
Whatever he found on the ground that was edible, he stuffed into his mouth without hesitation, caring little for what it was.
"Rich in vitamins," Lin Beichen remarked while eating.
Even more extraordinary, he not only ate these protein-rich things but also found some wild vegetables that could be eaten directly.
Seeing this, the district chief grew curious and came over.
"Aren’t you afraid of being poisoned?"
"It’s best not to eat mushrooms outdoors, as hallucinations could have unimaginable consequences. But I can tell if these wild vegetable roots are poisonous," Lin Beichen explained.
When abroad, he had specifically taught everyone how to consume wild vegetables, so handling these came to him with ease.
"Well, give it a try then," the district chief said.
Although no one knew what might happen, hearing that the wild vegetables were edible, they all gathered around, grateful for something else to eat.
A heart-stopping lunch ended like this, allowing everyone to rest well in the camp.
The time for departure was set at two o’clock in the afternoon.
They had no idea what awaited them.
Actually, crossing the swamp was just one test; the various terrains coming up were all in the Primeval Forest.
In the next two and a half days, they needed to solve all problems on their own. If they reached the destination on time, they’d pass the test.
This was truly a genuine wilderness survival training.
Once everything was prepared, the district chief came before them again.
"You’ve gone through the tests of food and the swamp. From now on, you will set off one by one according to a schedule. Of course, everyone’s arrival time is different; only those who arrive on time will earn base points. The one who arrives the fastest is the winner."
"Yes!" everyone responded in unison.
Due to Lin Beichen’s previous excellent performance, he was assigned to set out first.
This time, he stepped into the vast Primeval Forest. But things weren’t as simple as they seemed; the district chief had prepared all sorts of "surprises" for them.
The moment Lin Beichen entered the forest, he sensed something was off. Everything here seemed far from ordinary.
"Crossing a forest this plainly doesn’t align with the Seventh District’s style," Lin Beichen thought to himself.
At this moment, he carried minimal equipment, only a pistol and a multifunctional knife, without even basic first aid supplies.
In fact, the setting of this test was rather ingenious. The aim was to let everyone deeply grasp the essence of wilderness survival through this approach.
