Chapter 736: Sky Jet [Golden Gachapon Bonus - ]
The day passed by quickly, and before long, night arrived. Asher and his friends had spent the entire day buying various things. Ryaen purchased different kinds of battlefield necessities, Finch bought a little bit of everything, while Vaelric merely picked up one or two items casually. Yet despite all of that, Asher still didn’t buy anything for himself, forcing Ryaen to personally pick out several things for him instead, items which she practically forced onto him. Asher could only reluctantly accept them in the end.
Seeing the exchange between Ryaen and Asher, Finch and William simply winked at him with strange expressions on their faces. Asher merely ignored them, refusing to indulge in their ridiculous theatrics.
The next day arrived quickly, and it came with immense excitement. After all, tomorrow, literally tomorrow, they would finally leave the Empire. The day was practically upon them already. No matter where a student was within the Academy, conversations regarding the other three Empires could be heard everywhere with great excitement and anticipation. Some students even jokingly spoke about marrying someone from another Empire and moving there permanently if they happened to find the love of their lives during the competition.
And once again, Ryaen, Vaelric, Finch, and William came to Asher’s room. However, this time they didn’t simply remain there talking idly. Instead, they walked around the Star Academy together, moving from one location to another while enjoying light snacks and discussing absolutely nothing important in particular.
The grounds of the Star Academy were practically overflowing with happiness, almost as though an entirely new and powerful Positive Emovira could be born from the combined emotions of the students present.
During the day, an announcement was made stating that all students were to gather in front of their residential buildings by exactly 9 a.m. the following morning. Although it wasn’t directly stated that it would be their departure time, everyone naturally assumed that was the case.
Night soon arrived once again, yet the students still couldn’t sleep as excitement filled the Academy to the brim. As for Asher, he slept peacefully like a baby without a single care in the world. Yes, he was excited as well, but excited enough to lose sleep over it? Absolutely not.
Finally, tomorrow arrived. The day they would leave the Star Academy had finally come.
The students were already awake early in the morning, their bodies and minds filled with anticipation and energy. Some students had already gathered at the waiting location as early as 7 a.m., behaving as though they would somehow miss their transportation to the other Empire if they arrived any later.
Asher woke up at exactly 8 a.m. He stood before the mirror while wearing the clothes Ryaen had personally picked out for him, and he had to admit, she genuinely possessed an excellent sense of fashion.
With that, he left his room and made his way toward the waiting location. Upon arriving there, Finch and the rest of the group were already waiting for him.
"You seem to have a habit of always arriving late," William stated as his eyes shifted toward Asher.
"I’m not late, I’m simply always on time," Asher replied as he shook his head casually.
William shook his own head helplessly. It was literally only two minutes before 9 a.m., the appointed gathering time. Only someone like Asher would dare arrive at such a moment without a single ounce of concern.
"The clothing and styling actually look good on you," Finch stated as he observed that Asher was indeed wearing the outfit Ryaen had selected for him.
"I have Ryaen’s fashion sense to thank for that," Asher replied calmly.
Just as they were about to continue speaking, a presence suddenly appeared above them. Every student’s head instantly snapped upward toward the sky, but all they saw was a woman waving her hand casually. The next moment, a brilliant flash of white light swallowed every single student present.
When Asher opened his eyes once more, he found himself standing upon an enormous open field covered in lush green grass. He wasn’t particularly surprised, as every Instructor seemed to possess the strange habit of teleporting students around without bothering to explain anything beforehand.
Asher’s eyes shifted forward, and the moment he saw what stood across the massive green plain, he was left completely speechless.
Sitting there was a literal Airbus... an actual airplane.
Asher was genuinely shocked. Ever since reincarnating into this world, he hadn’t seen a single trace of advanced technology whatsoever. Of course, things such as light bulbs and modern lighting existed since the people of this world weren’t primitive cavemen using candles at night, but what stood before him now was simply impossible... or at least it should have been.
While Asher stood there speechless and questioning reality itself, the other students were simply overwhelmed with awe and amazement. They had never seen airplanes or anything remotely similar in their entire lives. The only methods of transportation they were familiar with were horses and carriages.
"What kind of vehicle is that? It’s gigantic," one student exclaimed in shock.
"Who could even create something like this?" another asked in wonder.
Various murmurs echoed throughout the open field, but the next moment, the noise vanished entirely as the female Instructor floating above lightly released a wave of pressure downward. Seeing the students instantly quiet down and acknowledge her presence, she finally began to speak.
"What you are seeing before you is called a Sky Jet. I won’t go into too many details because even I don’t fully understand the principles behind its operation. However, all you need to know is that this will serve as your means of transportation," the female Instructor stated calmly.
"You are to climb through the opening you see there, which is referred to as the Cabin Door," she continued speaking after pausing briefly. "You may now begin boarding. The Rank Ones from each year will enter first, followed by the Rank Twos, and so on in that order," she instructed.
The moment she finished speaking, Asher, Thalric, and Teo immediately stepped forward, their eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.
As Asher stepped into the airplane, his eyes widened slightly. The interior of the plane was absolutely nothing like its exterior. It was massive to an absurd degree.
Around him were luxurious seats that would make even the most expensive first-class and exclusive airplane seats back on Earth seem utterly mediocre in comparison. The level of comfort and craftsmanship was simply on another level entirely.
At the side of the floor stood a fully stocked bar serving all kinds of drinks imaginable.
Asher didn’t need to guess to realize that some form of Spatial ability had been utilized to enlarge the size of the interior while maintaining the same external appearance. It was a perfect combination of magic and technology seamlessly fused together.
Asher raised his head upward, his Omni Perception naturally expanding as he observed the structure above him. Three additional deck floors existed above the current one he stood on, and from there, he could sense several imposing presences, all of them at the Crownstar Life Rank.
On the first floor were beds of various sizes, and on the second floor was an enormous kitchen fitted with countless cooking utensils and advanced equipment, almost as though they were fully prepared to cook and serve anything the students desired during the journey.
The more Asher looked around and explored, the more stunned and confused he became.
The technology was simply too advanced.
For something on this scale to exist, then surely smaller-scale technologies such as cars, motorcycles, or even bicycles should logically exist as well. Yet in the two years since reincarnating into this world, he hadn’t seen even the slightest trace of any of them.
