Chapter 737: Title [Spacecraft Bonus - ]
Asher sat on one of the seats as various students boarded the Sky Jet, each of them brimming with excitement while their eyes darted from one piece of equipment within the Sky Jet to another, their gazes filled with curiosity and awe.
As everyone took their seats, the female Instructor from earlier simply closed the door and turned toward the students as she spoke. "There are three floors within the Sky Jet. This is the sitting area, above is the sleeping and resting area, above that is the kitchen where any of you may head to and request anything you desire, and finally, the last floor is restricted, so none of you should even bother trying to get there." Her tone remained calm and indifferent throughout.
She didn’t wait for any questions. The moment she finished speaking, she simply vanished from where she floated as though she had never been there to begin with. She didn’t advise anyone to fasten seat belts or anything of the sort either.
With that, the Sky Jet hummed as power coursed through its metallic frame before it slowly lifted off the ground with a deep low hum. Various students stared outside the windows as though they had never seen the Star Academy before in their lives.
A portal opened before them, and with rocketing speed, the Sky Jet tore into the portal leading out of the Separate Dimension as they officially began their journey toward the Thalvorn Empire.
Asher stared down upon the world from his personal window seat, but all that filled his vision were endless landscapes of forests and colossal trees stretching upward as though they wished to touch the heavens themselves with their crowns.
Various chatter filled the Sky Jet as students pointed down toward different sights from their seats with visible excitement. The next moment, however, a portal suddenly tore open above them, and from within it, a man stepped out effortlessly. His eyes were crimson red while his hair was pitch black. He floated calmly for a moment as he gazed at the students, who had instantly fallen silent upon his sudden arrival.
"Just assume I’m not here and continue whatever you were doing," the man spoke with a smile as he waved his hand casually toward the students, who naturally found themselves incapable of simply returning to their previous activities so easily.
Asher stared at the man for a moment before finally speaking. "Are you an Instructor?" he asked calmly. Since the man was already here, he might as well ask directly.
The man’s red eyes shifted toward Asher as he replied, "I’m not. You can simply think of me as an adventurer. I’m being paid to act as security and protect each and every one of you." His tone sounded relaxed and inviting.
Asher nodded lightly. He simply categorized the man among the group of people working under Cindralis.
"You may ask any questions if you’re curious," the man stated as he could tell Asher clearly had several questions in mind yet seemed to be holding himself back.
Hearing the man say that, Asher immediately wanted to ask about the Sky Jet. After all, the aircraft was one of the major things occupying his mind at the moment. It was the reason he wasn’t even discussing random topics with Finch and William right now.
"What can you tell me about the Sky Jet?" Asher asked. Although he already guessed it was likely something originating from Cindralis herself, he still wanted confirmation.
The man smirked slightly before replying, "I can’t tell you that. It would spoil the fun. Your question will naturally be answered in a few days." He spoke vaguely as though deliberately avoiding ruining a surprise.
Every other student had also been listening attentively to the conversation between Asher and the mysterious man, as they too were incredibly curious about the Sky Jet. However, after receiving no useful answer, they could only sigh in disappointment.
Asher shook his head before asking another question, "how far away is the Thalvorn Empire, and how long will it take us to arrive there?" he asked curiously as he wanted to know the exact scale of distance separating the Empires.
The man touched his chin thoughtfully for a moment before speaking, "I don’t know the exact distance in kilometres, but according to the information available to us, a Crownstar Life Ranker would need to fly at top speed continuously without pausing or resting for over a week, nine days to be precise, just to reach the border of a foreign Empire," he replied calmly.
Hearing the man’s words, Asher was left utterly speechless.
It had to be known that Crownstar Life Rankers could erase vast distances and kilometres within fractions of a second, yet now he was being told they would still need to travel at maximum speed for over a week without rest simply to reach another Empire’s border.
That alone meant the distance between each Empire was utterly absurd, almost as though the Empires themselves existed light-years apart like separate planets.
"Wait... but we are using the Sky Jet. If even Crownstar Life Rankers require over a week to arrive, does that mean we are going to spend anywhere between two weeks to an entire month on this journey?" Asher immediately asked as the thought occurred to him.
The man laughed before shaking his head, "the Sky Jet was built to match the speed of a Crownstar Life Ranker, meaning we will arrive within roughly the same timeframe," he stated casually.
That revelation left Asher and the surrounding students stunned once again.
This only made Asher even more curious about the Sky Jet itself. The curiosity was practically eating away at him at this point, causing countless thoughts to swirl within his mind. After a moment, he sighed and shook his head. Since the answers would apparently come naturally in a week, he decided to simply wait patiently rather than continue pestering the man for answers he clearly had no intention of giving.
"Any other questions?" the man asked lazily.
Asher no longer had any pressing questions to ask, and the other students similarly remained silent. Their only real curiosity revolved around the Sky Jet, but they already understood no proper answers would be given regarding it.
"What’s your name?" Asher asked instead. He could already tell the man was most likely at the Crownstar Life Rank, yet the man behaved like some eccentric wanderer who enjoyed talking and joking casually rather than carrying himself with the calmness and dignity expected from someone powerful.
The man smiled proudly before replying, "You may simply refer to me as FatelessPen. That’s my title." His tone carried a hint of pride as he introduced himself.
Asher arched an eyebrow slightly, wondering just how exactly the man had come to acquire such a bizarre title. Besides, the only titles Asher personally knew belonged to his mother, who was called the Lily Of The Abyss, and Cindralis, who was known as the Space Goddess. He didn’t even know whether Azaron or Malik possessed titles of their own.
Around the Sky Jet, several students quietly whispered among themselves after hearing the strange title, their expressions varying between confusion, curiosity, and amusement.
