Chapter 735: Spoiler [Golden Gachapon Bonus - ]
William, who was sitting beside Finch, could only look at him with a gaze of pity. He knew Rachael and understood the absurdly high standards both siblings held each other to, despite one of them being barely ten years old at the moment. Although William didn’t have siblings of his own, being an only child, he could still somewhat understand Finch’s pain and concern.
"If it’s any consolation, at least she won’t be at the Thalvorn Empire watching you live in person," William stated as he patted Finch’s shoulder reassuringly.
Asher sat stunned for a moment. He had only been teasing Finch, merely joking around, yet he hadn’t expected the fat boy to suddenly spiral into depression over it.
Ryaen and Vaelric didn’t know who Rachael was, but from the discussion alone, they understood she was Finch’s younger sister. They also understood that Finch, William, and Asher all seemed somewhat familiar with each other’s family members.
"Sigh... at least she will get to watch Asher dominate the competition," Finch spoke as a small smile finally broke across his lips.
Asher shook his head, not bothering to say anything in response. During the competition, if he happened to lose a match, then so be it. He didn’t hold himself to some compulsory standard of winning absolutely everything. But that didn’t mean he intended to hold back either. He would naturally give it his all while having fun and aura farming a little in the process.
After all, who wouldn’t want to aura farm during a worldwide live broadcast viewed by countless people across the Empires?
After a brief moment of silence, Finch suddenly spoke again.
"How about one final training session?" His eyes shifted toward Asher. "We still have today and tomorrow left. I’m sure you can teach me one or two things before then." His tone sounded almost eager as he wanted to try absolutely everything possible to at least live up to his little sister’s expectations.
Five thousand points meant absolutely nothing to Finch. After handling business matters for an entire month, he had accumulated more than enough points to spare without even needing to think twice about spending them.
Asher stared at Finch silently for a moment before shaking his head.
"There is nothing you can suddenly learn that would magically change any outcome in the upcoming competition," he declined Finch’s request calmly, his words somewhat truthful.
Finch’s expression immediately changed as his mood visibly sank once more.
"Besides, you underestimate yourself far too much. For all you know, the kids from the other Empires might not even be as powerful as you imagine, or you might only be selected for one match and won’t have to participate much at all," Asher continued speaking, "believe in the luck William always said you had."
Finch remained silent for a moment before smiling slightly. There was undeniable truth within Asher’s words, even if he still found it difficult to fully believe in himself.
Ryaen stayed silent briefly before finally speaking, "I wonder what the other Empires are actually like," her tone curious as she subtly shifted the topic away from Finch’s growing depression.
"I also wonder," William stated. "But within my family’s library, there was never any detailed information regarding the other three Empires. No proper descriptions about them whatsoever." His thoughts drifted toward the books he had read years ago.
"Same for me," Asher stated as the books he had read had also only mentioned the Empires in passing, almost as though they were deliberately avoiding providing any detailed information regarding them.
Ryaen simply nodded, as it was the same case for her as well. But strangely enough, that only made the upcoming journey even more exciting.
"I could tell you guys," Vaelric replied with a small smirk appearing across his face.
"You actually know something?" Finch asked as he arched an eyebrow suspiciously.
Vaelric nodded before speaking calmly.
"While your family libraries might avoid detailing such information, as the Prince, I’m naturally privy to certain things. If you want, I could tell you all about it and prevent the suspense from killing you beforehand," he suggested casually.
"Don’t tell us," Asher immediately spoke, "I would rather see everything with my own eyes, so there is no need to spoil the fun for me," he shook his head as though avoiding movie or anime spoilers.
"Seeing it personally and hearing about it are two entirely different things, Tenth Sun. Even if you hear about it from me, it won’t diminish the awe or excitement you will feel when you witness it yourself," Vaelric replied calmly as he sipped tea he had retrieved from his spatial ring.
Asher shook his head once more, "while that may be true, I would still rather know absolutely nothing beforehand," he replied, his stance remaining unchanged.
"I agree with Asher," Ryaen Silvershade stated, although she was also curious about what the Prince knew, she ultimately preferred seeing everything herself.
William remained silent for a moment before asking another question, "as the Prince, have you ever visited another Empire before? Like for official Royal duties or something similar?" His tone was curious since Vaelric spoke as though he possessed firsthand experience.
"Not at all," Vaelric replied with a shrug, not bothering to lie about it.
William simply nodded. Since his assumption had turned out to be incorrect, he had nothing further to add.
"Sigh... since we have nothing better to do, how about we go abuse some free points?" Finch suddenly suggested. As a merchant, he naturally intended to exploit anything that came at absolutely zero cost.
"I don’t particularly need or want anything," Asher replied with an indifferent expression resting upon his face.
"You could request outrageous artifacts, you know? As the Rank One student of our class and a direct Wargrave, I’m pretty sure the moment such a request is made, it would get approved almost immediately," Finch replied as though he could already see the future unfolding before him.
Asher gazed at Finch before speaking, "I thought you were feeling depressed about disappointing your little sister. You seem to have recovered rather quickly," he teased lightly.
Finch shook his head before replying, "and I have your kind words to thank for that," his response equally teasing.
Asher could only sigh helplessly. He had absolutely nothing to do anyway. These idiots had already interrupted his sleep regardless. Although he didn’t particularly need anything, he might as well accompany them and watch them waste points buying random things.
And with that, the group of friends rose to their feet before leaving Asher’s room together, their voices echoing throughout the hallway as they laughed and casually discussed random topics among themselves.
If anyone were to see Finch among them, they would probably click their tongues in envy. After all, he was the odd one out. He was fat, barely above six feet tall, and technically the weakest person there, while the others were among the Top Four strongest individuals within the class, possessing either Royal or Ducal backgrounds.
Truly, his Good Luck ability was so outrageous that it naturally drew powerful individuals toward him one way or another, almost as though fate itself deliberately pushed fortunate opportunities into his path without end.
