Chapter 58: Chapter 58 Suspended

"Suspended? How was my account suspended?" Lars said in disbelief.

He had placed all of his hopes on the money he was supposed to receive from selling the three Class Books. Instead, his account had been suspended.

With his account locked, he couldn’t even withdraw the money because his linked bank account was also inaccessible.

Max was just as confused. It was the first time he had ever heard of someone’s Dungeon Hub account being suspended.

"Let me ask on the forum." Max immediately began typing.

(Guys, my friend’s Dungeon Hub account was suspended. What should he do to get it back?)

The replies came almost instantly.

(Geez. What did your friend do? If your account gets suspended, just create a new one. Your old account is already gone.)

(I heard that if you want your account back, you will have to meet the manager of the Dungeon Hub. Although the chance of getting it reinstated is almost zero because the manager is extremely strict.)

Lars’s shoulders slumped as he read through the comments as his motivation quickly faded.

"Let’s head to the Dungeon Hub and meet this manager first." Max said as he started the car.

---

Inside Celine’s room, a group of men was searching through her belongings.

They made an even bigger mess of the already chaotic room as they searched through every corner.

"She isn’t here. Where did she go, Thom?" one of the men asked.

"Tch! That girl! She always makes my life difficult," Thom clicked his tongue. He then took out his phone and made a call.

---

Inside the dark room, two women were sleeping together on the bed, hugging each other bare-skinned as their clothes scattered across the floor.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The ringing phone suddenly broke the silence, its screen illuminating the dark room. One of the women, who had dark hair, slowly got up from the bed and reached for the phone.

"Hello."

(Hello, Boss. Sorry for disturbing you. I wanted to tell you that the Celine girl isn’t here. I also sent my men to search the surrounding area, but we couldn’t find her anywhere.)

"Don’t worry. She has nowhere to go. Just station some of our men there. She will return sooner or later."

(Okay, Boss!)

She ended the call before picking up her clothes from the floor and putting them on.

"You’re leaving already, Maria?" the other woman asked as she sat at the edge of the bed naked while smoking a cigarette.

"Yes, Emilie. I want to pick up my son after school," Maria said.

"Doesn’t his father usually pick him up every day? Why do you suddenly need to get him? Just tell your men to pick him up," Emilie said.

"My husband is having a meeting overseas for the entire week. If I send one of my men to pick him up, he will get scared of them," Maria replied as she put on her pants.

"Huuu..." Emilie blew out the cigarette smoke. "Don’t forget to attend my wedding this weekend, Maria. You’re on my VIP list," Emilie said as she stood up and walked toward Maria.

"After you get married, will we see each other less?" Maria asked as she wrapped her arm around Emilie’s waist.

"What are you talking about? It will be the same as always. Every day." Emilie replied with a smile. "I will just tell my future husband that I’m meeting a client."

The two women shared a kiss before Maria left the room, adjusting her hair as she walked away.

Lars and Max were now inside the elevator, heading toward the upper floors of the Dungeon Hub.

The ground floor was the largest area, where most hunter-related activities took place, while the upper floors were mainly used for administrative purposes.

Soon, they arrived at the top floor. It was Lars’s first time coming here. He looked around curiously as the entire floor was filled with rows of desks, with workers busy handling various administrative tasks.

"May I help you?" a female staff member asked from behind the Help Desk.

"Err... I actually want to retrieve my suspended account," Lars said. He was wearing a face mask and sunglasses. It was all Max’s idea to hide his identity.

"May I know your account name?" the staff member asked as she typed on her keyboard.

Lars turned his head toward Max. Max nodded.

"Anonymous214," Lars answered.

The staff member suddenly stopped typing. She slowly raised her head and glanced at Lars. She then made a phone call for a few minutes before turning toward Lars.

"Mister, my manager wants to see you in her office," the staff member said.

"Manager? Do I really need to meet her just to get my account back?" Lars asked.

After reading the comments on the forum about how strict the manager was, he had been hoping he wouldn’t have to meet her.

"Yes," the staff member replied with a smile.

She then led both of them down the hallway. At the end stood a large wooden door with an intricate design carved into it. Two bodyguards dressed in suits and wearing black sunglasses stood guard in front of the door.

"Only this gentleman can enter the office. You can wait in the waiting room. Please follow me," the staff member told Max.

Lars was left alone with the two guards. A moment later, the guards opened the door.

The office was enormous. As Lars stepped inside, he noticed large bookshelves covering the walls and filled with countless books. A magnificent chandelier hung from the ceiling.

On another side of the room, a large glass window offered a breathtaking view of District 21. Only then did Lars notice that two women were watching him.

One blonde woman was sitting behind the desk, while another pink-haired woman stood beside her. They were Beatrix and Valencia.

"Good afternoon, Lars Dicker," Beatrix said.

Lars instinctively flinched when he heard his name. He never expected them to know his real identity.

"You... you must be mistaken. I’m not Lars," he said, desperately trying to deny it.

"Don’t waste our time here. We’ve known your identity for quite some time already. Lars Dicker, also known as Anonymous214. You officially registered as a hunter seven months ago, on April 21st of this year," Valencia said.

Lars finally realized that he had been under observation all this time. He removed his mask and sunglasses.

"I just want to get my account back, please," he said.

"I’m sorry, but I can’t do that," Beatrix replied with a smile.

Their eyes met. At that moment, the wheels of fate finally began to turn.
