Chapter 37: Chapter 37 Bait

Right now, Lars’s face was frowning as they descended to the ground floor. He never expected a dungeon to contain this kind of place.

He had always thought dungeons were just fields, caves, ruins, or something similar. This was the first time he had entered a place like this.

Suddenly, he remembered Max’s explanation from before.

There was a type of dungeon that could be similar to their own world, or perhaps even larger. A place where entire civilizations could prosper.

"Is this actually... a World Dungeon?" Lars muttered.

"The drinks and food, they’re still warm," Justin said as he touched the glass on the table.

"What is actually happening here?" Lars asked.

He couldn’t see any signs of struggle inside the house. Everything was still in its proper place, and even the floor was clean. Both of them then stepped out of the house.

As soon as they looked around, the first thing they saw was a massive red pillar of light shooting into the sky from a large palace a few hundred meters away, located at the center of the city.

"Is that thing what opened the dungeon portal?" Justin asked as he pointed toward the massive portal in the sky, exactly where the red light was aimed.

"Probably. Now, let’s move." Lars started walking.

They walked along the street. The entire street felt like it had come straight out of a fantasy world Lars always watched on television or in movies. There were carriages along the roadside and even a large fountain in the middle of the plaza.

Suddenly, as they walked, they heard someone shouting.

"Help! Help me!"

"What was that?" Lars quickly turned toward the voice and saw a woman sitting in the middle of the street.

"Hey! Are you alright?!" Lars shouted.

"Help! Help me!" The woman continued crying with both hands covering her face.

Lars was about to walk toward her when Justin suddenly grabbed his shoulder.

"Stop, Lars! This woman looks suspicious." Justin felt that something was wrong.

"What are you talking about? There’s nothing to worry about." Lars shrugged Justin’s hand off his shoulder before walking toward the woman.

"Are you okay? Are you injured anywhere?" Lars asked as he got closer.

Suddenly, the woman stopped crying and lowered her hands.

She slowly raised her head toward Lars, revealing a face with only two glowing red eyes. No mouth and nose.

"What?!"

Suddenly, the ground beneath Lars shook, and the woman’s body floated into the air.

Only then did Lars notice that her back was connected to something long behind her.

A massive beast resembling a dog emerged before them. It stood nearly three meters tall, and on its forehead was a strange appendage resembling the lure of an anglerfish.

At the end of the appendage was the figure of the woman, now completely naked.

"Damn it! To think I was actually deceived by a monster. You will pay for this!"

Lars immediately changed his class to Lunar Blader. This was the only class he could use at 100% without any restrictions, and it was also the class he was most familiar with. On top of that, all of its skills had already reached the Maximum Level 5.

Lars used Lunar Step and charged toward the monster. The giant dog suddenly evaded him before leaping to his side and swiping its claw toward Lars.

Lars was surprised by the monster’s speed, but he remained composed and activated Moon Guard.

Ping!

A small lunar-like shield appeared in front of Lars and blocked the attack.

But that wasn’t all. Because Lars activated Moon Guard at the perfect moment just as the monster attacked, he immediately unleashed a counter slash toward its arm.

Roaar!!

The giant dog monster roared in pain as blood poured from its right arm.

Lars then continued his assault, unleashing Twin Crescent and Silver Arc together with several basic attacks.

Most of his attacks successfully landed, but some missed as the monster managed to evade them.

After a few minutes, Lars had only gathered 20 Moon Rhythm stacks.

"Are 20 stacks enough?" Lars asked himself.

Usually, he would gather at least 50 stacks before unleashing his ultimate skill, Lunar Annihilation.

But this time, he decided to use it anyway.

"Lunar Annihilation!"

Lars vanished and unleashed a rapid succession of slashes across the monster’s body. Blood continued pouring from its wounds with every strike.

However, when the attack finally ended, the monster was still alive.

Lars clenched his teeth. Now that he had used Lunar Annihilation, the skill would be on cooldown for half an hour.

He immediately started regretting using it too early. Suddenly, the monster began retaliating. It attacked Lars nonstop, forcing him completely onto the defensive.

On the other side, Justin was frowning.

"Why is there no connection here?!"

He was having problems with his Mobile Server and wasn’t even paying attention to the monster.

Suddenly, the monster slipped past Lars and positioned itself between him and Justin. It turned around and charged straight toward Justin.

At that moment, Justin was still focused on his gadget. By the time he finally noticed the danger, the monster’s massive jaws were already right in front of him.

"Justin!" Lars shouted as he desperately tried to move as fast as possible.

However, just a few meters before the monster’s jaws reached Justin, a figure suddenly leaped down from a nearby rooftop.

The figure descended directly toward the monster, extending one leg before twisting their entire body like a drill.

BOOM!!

The attack struck directly onto the monster’s head, smashing it hard into the ground. But it wasn’t over yet.

The figure continued drilling his foot into the monster’s head, crushing it until blood and brain matter splattered across the ground. He then jumped away from the monster and landed firmly on the street.

Lars and Justin stared at the person who had suddenly appeared.

He was wearing a white martial arts uniform with a black belt around his waist and a black headband tied around his forehead.

"Are you two okay?" the man asked.

"Thank you for saving me!" Justin bowed deeply toward him.

"Don’t worry! It’s my job to help others in need. Hahaha!" The man laughed while placing both hands on his waist.

"Who are you? Are you one of the dungeon hunters too?" Lars asked as he approached him.

"Ahh, I see. So you two are hunters as well. Yes, I’m also a hunter." He then introduced himself.

"My name is Ryuken."
