Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Rogue Dungeon

"We are currently live at the Business Street in District 20, where, as you can see behind me, a Rogue Dungeon suddenly appeared a few hours ago. The authorities are already securing the area, and all hunter companies have been informed," a female reporter reported live on one of the news channels.

"Why is there suddenly breaking news?! I just want to watch my midnight drama." Layla groaned in frustration as her show was suddenly interrupted.

However, as she continued watching the news, her eyes suddenly widened. Someone who looked strangely familiar walked past behind the reporter.

"Is that brother Lars?" Layla stared at the screen for a moment.

"There’s no way! A dungeon is the last place he would ever go. Maybe I’m just mistaken." She quickly dismissed the thought. She then switched off the television, and went to sleep.

"So many people!"

Lars complained as they finally arrived at the area.

A sea of people stood behind the yellow line set up by the police, who were desperately trying to tell the bystanders to move away from the area. Lars could also see dozens of ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars standing by.

Even several helicopters were flying above them, their searchlights sweeping across the ground. The entire area looked extremely chaotic at the moment.

Lars, Max, and Justin slipped through the crowd and finally reached the front. A dungeon police officer stopped them as they tried to pass.

All three showed their respective Hunter IDs, and after checking them, the officer allowed them through.

"To all dungeon hunters who want to enter, please register first at the Hunter Counter!" a Dungeon Hub staff member shouted.

His face was obviously annoyed. He had just finished his shift when he was suddenly called here. In fact, staff members from all three Dungeon Hubs had been gathered at the area to smooth the flow of hunters entering the dungeon.

Near the dungeon portal, a red-haired man stood smoking while staring at the massive red portal. He was dressed in a full black suit.

"Inspector Cain! Sorry I’m late!" A woman wearing glasses ran toward him while fixing her messy brown hair.

"You’re late, Sergeant Lily!" Cain said as he puffed on his cigarette.

"Sorry! The traffic was terrible getting here." Lily caught her breath before looking at the report in her hand. "Anyway, I received this report from my men. Ten officers were sent inside to scout the area, but none of them have returned yet. Communication with them has also been disrupted. Right now, we don’t know their status."

Cain took one final drag from his cigarette before throwing it onto the ground and stomping on it.

"Tell our people to stop entering. It’s time to let these hunters do their work," Cain said.

He then looked at his watch, which showed 2 a.m., before turning around to face the gathered hunters. A voice amplifier was held in his hand.

"Hello and good morning, everyone. I am Inspector Cain, and I am responsible for handling this situation. Right now, the status of the dungeon is unknown. We don’t know what type it is or what rank it is. Therefore, when you enter, please remain cautious at all times."

"And remember, you are the first line of defense. Kill as many monsters inside as possible and make sure this dungeon does not undergo a Dungeon Break. Godspeed!"

After that, all the hunters started entering the dungeon. One by one, they stepped through the portal, their numbers reaching into the hundreds.

Lars walked alongside everyone before stepping through the portal himself. But the moment he entered, he suddenly felt nothing beneath his feet.

"What the heck?! Arghh!"

Lars was in free fall. Beside him, all the other hunters were experiencing the same thing as they plummeted toward the ground below.

"Lars! Help me!" Justin shouted from nearby.

Lars quickly moved toward him and grabbed his hand. He then looked downward and saw the ground getting closer and closer.

"What do I do? What do I do?" Lars thought desperately. If he didn’t do something quickly, they would surely die. Suddenly, Lars remembered the skill Max had used with Skyfall Justiciar.

Heaven Step.

Lars immediately changed his class to Skyfall Justiciar. But because of the restriction, the class’s abilities were reduced by 49%. Still, he didn’t care about that at the moment.

"Justin! Grab my hand tightly and don’t let go! The moment I use Heaven Step, just hold onto me!" Lars shouted as the powerful wind rushed past them.

"Okay!" Justin shouted back.

As they got closer and closer to the ground, with only a few dozen meters remaining, Lars immediately used Heaven Step and managed to launch himself horizontally, removing most of their falling momentum.

But because of Justin’s extremely heavy bag, Lars was still dragged downward.

Thump!

Both of them crashed through the window of one of the houses. Luckily, they landed directly on a bed inside the room, causing it to crack and collapse beneath them.

"We... we’re still alive?" Justin sat up and touched his body and face, checking if he was injured.

He then immediately opened his bag and checked his Mobile Server. A relieved sigh escaped his mouth when he saw that it was still operational.

Lars shook his head while holding it before slowly standing up.

"We’re so lucky we didn’t get killed because of your stupidly heavy bag!" Lars shouted at Justin.

Justin, however, was too focused on checking his server to even pay attention to Lars.

"Where are we right now? Inside a house?" Lars said as he looked outside through the broken window.

Rows of medieval-looking houses were arranged in blocks, with narrow streets running between them.

"Are we really inside the dungeon?" Lars muttered.

"I don’t know either. But more importantly, where is Max?" Justin asked as he stood up and adjusted the heavy bag on his back.

"He must have fallen somewhere nearby. Let’s find him first."

The two then walked through the house and used the stairs to reach the ground floor.

A few meters away from them, a pair of red eyes was already watching their every movement.
