Lars’s eyes continued to widen as he read through the skills of the class.
"Not only does it have 10 skills, but every single one of them is absurd! And this is also the first time I’ve gotten Max CP from generating a class. Does it only happen when I generate a Unique-rank class or above? If that’s the case, then it will be much easier for me to increase my Max CP from now on."
Lars didn’t know that the chance of generating a Unique class was extremely rare. His assumption that it would be easier from now on would make him curse his luck later.
He then walked toward Max and Justin.
"Another great execution, Lars! Good job!" Justin gave him a thumbs-up before tossing him a drink.
"Thanks, Justin." Lars caught the drink before looking at Max. "How’s your condition, Max?"
"I’m good now after getting some rest. I’m sorry, Lars, for saying all those things earlier. I should’ve trusted you."
"It’s fine. Anyone else would’ve probably thought the same thing if they were in your situation. I don’t mind at all," Lars said.
’ Now it’s time for the surprise! Let’s see how they react.’
"Although I’m sorry that the boss didn’t drop the class you wanted. But I did find this one that fell from the boss." Lars showed them the Class Book.
"It’s okay. I already knew it would be this hard." Max suddenly stopped as his eyes landed on the Class Book in Lars’s hand.
His eyes immediately widened as he walked closer. The Class Book was white, with an intricate design on its cover resembling a pair of wings.
"Hey, Lars! Is this... really the Class Book that dropped from the boss? Can I take a look?" Max asked.
"Yeah. Sure."
As soon as Max read its details, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
Justin was confused by Max’s reaction, so he also leaned over and looked at it. Even someone who wasn’t particularly knowledgeable about classes could understand just how extraordinary this class was.
"Unique rank?! Are my eyes really seeing this?" Justin rubbed both his eyes in disbelief.
Both of them then stared at Lars.
"Man! My luck is really something. To think that I actually found a Unique-rank class from this boss. Even I can’t believe it." Lars scratched his head, pretending like he knew nothing about it.
"If you sell this class, it could go for millions! You could instantly become a millionaire!" Justin said excitedly.
"M-Millionaire?!" Lars was tempted.
Although he had created this class for Max, hearing Justin’s words made him hesitate for a moment.
’ No! This class is too powerful! Although I could easily clear my debt by selling it, I’m afraid I might create a monster later that even I can’t defeat. Yes! I’ve decided. This class is only for me and Max! ’
Max suddenly handed the Class Book back to Lars.
"What are you doing?" Lars asked.
"You should keep this Class Book. You’re the one who defeated the boss and found it first. Plus, didn’t you tell me that you need money right now? Don’t mind me. Maybe one of the later bosses will drop the class I want," Max said.
Although deep inside, he really wanted this class but he didn’t want to be greedy.
"Just take it! This is for you. I know you’re struggling with your current class and you’ve already exceeded what your current class can offer you. With this new class, your potential will soar to an even higher level."
"But... I feel bad taking something this valuable for free."
"Who said I’m giving it to you for free?"
"Huh?" Max tilted his head.
"I will sell it to you for one million Zents. But because of our friendship, I will give you a 10% discount."
"But... that’s still 900 thousand Zents. I don’t have that kind of money."
"Then if you don’t have the money, you’re obligated to follow me every time I raid a dungeon. The rewards from the dungeons we raid will be used to deduct the debt you owe me. Now, stop talking and just take it."
"Lars... you..." Max’s eyes started to water. He suddenly hugged Lars.
"Hey! What are you doing?!"
Max then released Lars and smiled.
"Thank you, Lars! From now on, you can ask me to do anything. I will do it for you!" Max said with a wide smile.
"Don’t go back on your word." Lars smiled back.
Max held the Unique Class Book tightly and closed his eyes.
"Sword Knight. Thank you for the four years of memories we shared together. You helped me survive in this cruel world of dungeons. But now, it’s time for us to go our separate ways. Still, all the experiences I gained with you... I will never forget them."
Lars looked at Max. He was astonished to hear those words coming from him.
To other hunters, their class was like their closest companion. They struggled, survived, and succeeded together as they grew stronger.
But for Lars, perhaps he would never have that kind of attachment. After all, with his class ability, changing from one class to another had already become something normal to him.
The book in Max’s hand suddenly shone with a bright white light before completely engulfing his body. After a few seconds, the light faded, and the Class Book was gone.
A smile appeared on Max’s face. He gave Lars and Justin a thumbs-up, and both of them replied with their own. They then continued ascending to the next floor.
As they walked, Max read through the details of his new class. His face kept frowning, only for his eyes to widen in shock from time to time.
"Are you okay?" Lars asked.
"I’m fine. But this class, I don’t know how to say it. It is really strong, but the mechanisms of its skills seem quite difficult to master." Max scratched his head.
"Don’t worry. We still have another 30 floors to test this class. Just take your time," Lars said.
Soon, a group of monkeys and chimpanzees appeared. Each of them was holding crude weapons. Lars stepped forward, but Max suddenly placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Leave it to me, Lars. I want to test my new class."
Seeing the serious look on Max’s face, Lars stepped back. He then turned toward Justin behind him.
"Hey, Justin. Make sure you record this perfectly. This will surely make the views explode."
"No need to tell me. I’m already ready to livestream."
Max then raised the sword in his right hand. Immediately, a sword made of light appeared in his left, the Skyfall Sword.
He lowered his body before charging forward as Lars and Justin focused their eyes on him.
At that moment...another legend was born.
