Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 193: I NEED YOU TO DO THIS

  • Next Chapter

The death of Owen Brooks was publicized almost immediately, causing an uproar and heightening the hatred for the shifters.

People under him in command, who had known the man for so many decades and were his comrades in arms, were fueled with rage and vengeance.

On the night the footage of Owen being attacked by Rio was announced and released, they found and executed ten more shifters on the spot.

However, in doing so, they had mistakenly killed three humans as well.

The death of the humans caused another ripple among the people, as they wanted justice for the false accusation.

It was a heated argument on social media, and the hunt for the shifters became even wilder as people went to the streets and rampaged through everything around them to show their frustration.

And this was all the devils wanted: creating confusion and fear.

Keeping peace was no longer an option for the Lycans.

"They are going to join the alphas from King Altair’s kingdom," Matt informed Seara of the information he got. He had approached the seven alphas and pretended to agree with them but was too scared to go against the royal beta since he was a newly appointed alpha.

They didn’t buy it at first, and it took two days for Matt to convince them; after all, they needed as many packs as possible to join their cause.

"What are they going to do? Going to the Wolfsbane Haven kingdom?" Seara stared at the riot outside.

From this apartment building, she could see a few spots that had been burned, such as a car, a bus shelter, and a few more things. People fought, and they were suspicious of each other, whether the other person was a shifter or not.

Little did they know, this building was filled with many shifters, even though humans occupied the lower floors.

"That’s the plan," Matt said. "They are anxious because King Zade is not here, and the death of Owen Brooks enraged them."

Seara knew about the situation, and Zade had also informed her about what happened on his end. The thing that made her nervous was that Zade, Caspian, and the other two warriors were still in Wvern City; they were trapped because of the mass.

"How are they going to go through that?" Seara pointed at the riot outside.

"They will join them, and they will blend with them." Matt looked at Seara. Her auburn hair looked fiery under the light of the sun.

"That is very risky."

"They know, but that’s the only way for them to get to King Altair’s territory. They have been in contact with a few alphas there and want to start the retaliation soon."

Later that night, Seara was on the phone with Zade. She told him everything that happened there and what the seven alphas were planning.

Kaleb was still there as well, because it was still dangerous for him to go out. However, this building would no longer be safe.

"The Quantum Protocol inspection will be here in two days. According to the information that Zephyr got, they will check all the residents of the building to ensure that none of them are shifters." Seara hugged her knees as she talked to Zade on the phone. She wished he had been there with her. "What should I do?"

She had tried to do everything in her power to keep it together, but she didn’t have the same authority as Zade.

"You have done so well, Seara." Zade’s gentle voice came from the other end.

"It’s not enough..." Seara lowered her head; she felt ashamed for being so weak, and being alone in her bedroom made her feel even more depressed. She was wearing Zade’s jacket that he left behind before he left for Wvern City. The smell was still like him.

"I couldn’t do much even if I were there."

Seara knew that was a lie; Zade would have done something if he were here. At the very least, he would be able to control the alphas.

Currently, the alphas in King Altair’s kingdom became even more restless, and Jazz could no longer hold them back. Thankfully, Asher helped since Zade was trapped. But it wouldn’t last for long.

"Have you found a way to get out of there?" Seara asked worriedly.

Though Zade’s face was not as well known as Ace’s or Zephyr’s, because not many people knew he was the owner of the Blaze Company, a few pieces of footage of him had been spread, and he was confirmed as one of the monsters.

"No. We will stay for a while. We will find a way to get Altair out of their facility."

Seara lifted her head in shock when she heard that. "No, please... don’t do that." She was scared out of her mind.

Altair would be in the highest security in the facility; it didn’t sound doable no matter what the plan was, and Seara didn’t want Zade to put himself in such a risky situation.

Call her selfish, but she didn’t care what happened to Altair; all she wanted was for Zade to come back to her safe and sound.

"Please, don’t." She got up from her bed. As she paced back and forth, her throat was closing in, and she felt panic creep into her mind. "Don’t... please..." She was at a loss as to how to act or what to say; the words had slipped from her memory; all she knew was to beg Zade to cancel his crazy idea.

"Seara, listen to me. I need you to listen to me. Breathe..." Zade knew Seara was going to have a panic attack, and he cursed himself for not being there for her.

"No... No..." Seara shook her head; she refused to listen to him. "Come back, Zade. Please, come back..."

It took more than an hour for Zade to talk Seara through her panic and finally tell her what he needed her to do.

"My love, listen to me. I need you to do this." Zade’s voice was soothing.
