Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 192: THING WENT SOUTH QUICKLY

The meeting lasted for less than two hours, but for Seara it felt like a lifetime had gone by; she felt dizzy with the tension and the panic attack that she tried to suppress.

"You did so well, Seara," Ace said when it was only the two of them in the room. "Your idea to spread a false clue about the shifters is good; it will save them some time and confuse the humans about the shifters’ whereabouts."

Seara nodded and smiled sheepishly. "Thank you."

"Let’s go. I will take you back to Leia." Ace stood up and walked toward the door, but soon he realized Seara didn’t follow him. "What are you doing there? Let’s go."

Seara lifted her head and looked at Ace with a pitiful expression. "I can’t stand up; my legs are so weak."

She was very nervous to the point that she couldn’t stand up or feel her legs, despite how calm she was when she spoke.

Her voice was not loud, and an ordinary person would have difficulty hearing her. However, as shifters, it was not a problem. Still, the way Seara spoke forced them to be very quiet so they could hear her clearly.

"What?" Ace walked back to approach Seara.

"I can’t stand up. Give me a moment..." Seara fiddled with her fingers and stared at them absentmindedly while Ace was standing next to her.

"You did well." Ace wanted to ruffle her hair the way he did with Jeremy, but he ended up patting her on the shoulder instead. It wouldn’t have been appropriate for him to touch Zade’s mate that way. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"Still, it was scary." Seara lifted her head and looked at Ace.

"You will get used to it. There will be more alphas who will go against you in the future." Ace leaned his hips against the table and faced Seara. "But you did well for standing up for yourself the first time it happened."

"Who are the six alphas who walked away?" Seara tried to remember who they were, but because of how nervous she was, her mind messed up her memories.

"Alpha Gilliard from the Howling Grove Pack, Alpha Aaron from the Silverfang Pack, Alpha Edard from the Ashmoon Pack, Alpha Derek from the Silvertail Pack, Alpha Garred from the Moon Hunters Pack, and Alpha Josh from the Black Howlers Pack," Ace recited. They were the six alphas who had walked out of the room following Alpha Bryan.

"Do you think the seven of them will cause trouble?"

"Most likely." Ace watched how Seara was deep in thought. She knew it would be a problem in the future if they didn’t deal with it quickly.

Their numbers had decreased significantly, and after losing three packs due to their rebellion against Zade for choosing Seara as his mate, they could not afford to lose seven more packs or face further rebellion against the Lycans.

If one pack initiated an attack, the others would likely follow, making it difficult to quell.

"I want to talk to Alpha Matt. Can you help me, Ace?"

"Alpha Matt?" Ace was surprised. He thought Seara would ask him to keep their eyes on the seven alphas. He expected as much because that was what he was going to do, and he thought Zade would agree too.

"Yes, I want to keep my eyes on them," Seara replied. "But putting warriors to watch their every move will only irritate them even more. They will hate me for that, knowing the order must have come from me. They are already very angry with me, and I can’t provoke them more."

’’Then why Alpha Matt?" Ace was rather confused by Seara’s choice.

"I want him to join them and keep his eyes on them." Seara knew it would be risky, and she didn’t know this young alpha well. But he was the only one who stood up for her during the heated argument while the other alphas didn’t even bother to say anything.

Ace contemplated the request. "Fine. I will call him."

Seara was still unable to stand up, so she waited inside the room. She stared at the gloomy sky out there, and it seemed rain would pour down. She wished she could call Zade and tell him what she was going to do so he could tell her whether she had done it right or not.

Jack had no other choice but to give Zade all the information. "This is all I can provide to you for now. I will keep in touch and update you on the situation here."

It was already night, and they met at the same spot. Rain was pouring down, blurring their vision, as Jack handed Zade a bag and a USB.

When Zade took them, Jack’s phone rang. The sound was for an emergency, and he couldn’t ignore it; thus, he picked up the call and listened to the news.

"I am on my way," Jack said tightly and ended the phone call. When he looked at Zade again, his face was filled with uncertainty. "Owen was killed by a shifter from the hospital." He paused, thinking of his next words. "This is... good news, right? I mean, the devil is dead."

However, Zade had a different perspective. This was not good news at all. "No. The only reason they appeared dead is that they have to change their host." Zade looked at Jack, who looked like he was about to vomit. "Find out whether or not they have the body."

Jack immediately made a few phone calls and figured out they had never found Owen’s body, but the CCTV camera showed he was being attacked by one of the doctors in Wvern Hospital named Rio, who apparently was a shifter.

"Who can be the devil’s new body now?" Jack couldn’t think straight, though deep down he knew who it could be.

"Obviously, someone in a higher position." Zade closed his eyes for a moment. Things had gotten out of hand; it went south very fast.

"King Azrael." Jack gritted his teeth.
