Claimed by the Mad Lycan King
Chapter 186: A DREAM
Seara was right; Leia couldn’t fall asleep either. She was in her unit, having tea to calm her nerves when she came with Lidya and Leigh.
"It’s a good thing that you are here. Come inside. I am thinking about coming to you, but I don’t want to bother you." Leia smiled brightly.
"You are not a bother, Mom. Zade has been very busy too lately."
"Oh, you are right." Leia nodded. She seemed to forget about that. Her mate and son were indeed busy during this time, not to mention the king. Lately, her mind had been unreliable, with her nerves all over the place.
Leia’s unit had two bedrooms, so Lidya and Leigh could use the second one.
"Help yourself; I will sleep with Seara tonight," Leia said to the other two female warriors.
"Okay, thank you," Lidya and Leigh said. They started cooking instant noodles and chose a movie to watch. Mostly, they wouldn’t sleep in the bedroom and would stand guard in the living room.
Meanwhile, Leia took Seara into her bedroom, and they changed their clothes into pajamas. Leia was pleased to have Seara here.
"Come, I will braid your hair before sleep." Leia was a little bit excited; her gloominess faded away slightly, and Seara was more than willing to do an activity together with her.
She sat down still on the bed while Leia combed her long hair and started braiding it gently. Her hands were different from Zade’s. While Zade’s were steady and firm, Leia’s were gentle, and the way she moved was as if she was gliding; Seara didn’t really feel it. She liked them both, though.
It must have been wonderful if she had grown up with a mother like Leia. Jeremy was very lucky to have her.
"It is a pity that the world out there turns out like this. I have a lot of things that I want to do with you. Going to the salon together, watching a movie, having another lunch, shopping... that must be nice if we could do those things." Leia caressed Seara’s hair, and she felt a little bit sleepy with her touch.
"It must be nice if we could do that." Seara closed her eyes.
When they had time to do it, Seara was not in her right mind. She was still trying to figure out a way to get out of her delusions, but now that she had finally gotten a firm grip on reality, the reality she was facing was much worse than her delusions.
"We will do it again later, when the time is right and when the battle is over. When the situation calms down, we will do all of that together, okay?"
Seara lifted her head and looked at Leia with a bright smile. "Okay."
Later that night, they slept well together, holding hands. And for the first time in a few years, Leia dreamed about her baby girl again.
This time, in her dream, someone didn’t take her baby away, and she got to hold her daughter. She was perfect, she was beautiful, and she was hers.
The little one squirmed against her chest, her little hands stretched out to reach her face, and this little touch brought tears to Leia’s eyes.
Her baby girl.
The next day, when Leia woke up, she found herself crying and saw that Seara was still sleeping next to her, but someone knocked on the door.
"Leia?"
"Coming," Leia said. She wiped the tears from her eyes and then got up to get the door. She recognized his voice, and it was Caspian.
He didn’t get inside right away because he was informed that Leia was sleeping with Seara.
"What is it? Are you crying?" Caspian asked the moment the door opened, and he saw Leia’s red and puffy eyes.
"No. I just woke up." Leia tried to hide it; she rubbed her eyes. "What is it?"
Caspian wanted to ask further, but he didn’t have enough time for that, because they had to leave right away. Zade asked him to go with him to Wvern City so they could meet with the monarch.
"Come here." Caspian took Leia to the second room.
In the living room, Leigh was sleeping, while Lidya was making breakfast. The twins didn’t use the bedroom to sleep; instead, they took blankets and stayed there.
Once Leia and Caspian were alone, he hugged her tightly, and this made Leia’s heart beat so fast. She could feel it; it must be something that she wouldn’t like.
Even before Caspian spoke, Leia was already crying silently.
"Don’t cry. What are you crying for?" Caspian pulled away and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "You are still a crybaby," he chuckled. "You have never changed, and I love it for you."
Caspian kissed her on the forehead and hugged her tighter. They spent a little time hugging each other like this.
It was not that they had no words to say; quite the opposite, in fact. They had a lot of things they wanted to share with each other, but there was not enough time for that.
"Be with Seara and Jeremy. The boy might give you a headache, but don’t scold him too much. He is under pressure." Caspian kissed Leia’s cheeks. "I will be back."
"You are going with Zade." That was not a question but a statement, because Leia knew what Zade had been planning, and if he wanted to leave now, it meant he had found a way to meet with the monarch.
They would likely go to Wvern City. Going to Wvern City could be deemed extremely dangerous for shifters, not to mention the risks involved in meeting that person. The city has been locked down, and people have undergone strict examinations to ensure that none of them are shifters.
"Yes. I will go with Zade. He needs his beta and gamma here to keep the alphas in check. Also, the humans got King Altair," Caspian explained.
