Chapter 737: Velvet Garden Is An Idea

I will beat him such that no healer will be able to heal him.

That is a promise to myself.

I had used the artifact and my skills, but the bastard still hadnt fallen. It was enough to defeat most Lv. 40, but he is still standing.

The bastard is using the power of legacy and that damn artifact to suppress me.

I hate to admit. It is working; the full power of my attacks isn’t landing on him. Still, what is landing would have been enough to kill any Lv. 30.

Even those close to it, and those who recently learned the aura method, shouldn’t have been able to survive for this long.

He did, and he is improving while fighting me. That made me even angrier.

I want to crush and do it in such a way that he would never be able to stand again. For that, I am going to use my full strength.

It filled me with shame that I would use such strength against the ant, like him, but I will do it to teach him a lesson that he will never forget.

There will be some consequences, but merchants will protect me.

After one last breath, I pushed the aura into the artifact. Until now, I had not done that. I had been using its own strength, but now I was powering it with an aura.

The silvery wave, like a pattern, moved, handing me the power of waves.

That same moment, I formed the Fractal of Seismic Blade, my offensive aura method. Making it two, seeing I already have Stone Veins active

A moment later, Jasper’s red aura blade formed on my sabre. I poured the power of my skills into the methods and turned to the ant in front of me.

“Now, I will end you!” He said, and his sword pointed toward me.

Others might not be able to sense what he had done, but I could. He is my legacy, and I could feel the massive power he had activated.

It’s so much that it has formed a presence over it, pushing against the power of my legacy. Making it feel like a monster instead of a man.

I felt my hands shaking. This is not something I could go against, but I have to and I will.

With that thought, I swung my blade toward him, while pushing more power from my artifact on his and even using my aura for it, not just the power of the legacy.

The other stream of aura went to my skills. Blade of Gale, Mauling Strike, and Rapid Strikes, while I filled my body with as much Energising Essence as possible.

My rapier looked like a blade of glass in front of a large lawnmower.

It’s not an exaggeration, but the truth.

Clang!

The blades clashed, and there was thunder. It crushed through skills and method, sending me flying like a ragged doll with the power of a wave blasting through me.

I protected my internals with the power of legacy and aura, but the rest of my body began to suffer.

My skin began to tear up, and bones began to crack as colossal made a mess inside me.

The healing spells covered me to heal the damage, but they seemed to barely have any effect. Hell, it is taking all my strength to keep my sword in my hand.

A single attack had made my condition from bad to worse, but I could not give up.

I could see the people looking—my employees. They depend on me; it’s my duty to protect them. If I fail here, I will fail them.

I would bear a hundred times more injuries than I bear that.

So, I control the power of legacy to slow my momentum. I had to do it quickly or I could crash against the column, which I was approaching rapidly.

Thud!

I landed on the ground, with column inches behind me. A second more and I would have crashed against it.

I had just landed when I saw him, swinging the blade toward me. Immediately, Jasper Red Stone Blade came out, and then another, and then as it kept swinging his sword toward me.

Six blades are coming, and they are coming extremely fast toward me.

Immediately, I pushed the power of my legacy toward them to slow them down. I wanted to use the spells, but they would be useless, it’s too fast.

While I did that, I formed the fractals of the Sap Pulse and Falling Leaf, while pushing as much aura as I could into the Blitz Steps, and moved to dodge them.

I wanted to send my own aura blades toward them, but like the spells, these blades would tear them apart as they would do with the spells.

They aren’t just the aura blades. They have the power of an artifact and Lv. 40 skills are infused in them.

This is something very powerful; dodging is the only choice.

Every part of my body screamed with torturous pain as I moved. I couldn’t defend against them staying at one place.

I moved faster than I had ever done—the speed, which is blurring, even to me.

I avoided the first blade, which blasted through the column, which had been strengthened by the mist and enchanted for strength.

The blade had turned into pieces.

The second one, I avoided, had created a large hole through the wall.

The third one blasted away another column. Fourth, thankfully, went into the open sky. People might not realize it due to the plants, but the legacy is a lot more open.

I am glad that all the plants, arts, and other things have been shifted away, or the cost would have been even greater.

I had just dodged the fourth when the fifth one appeared in front of me. I wanted to dodge it, but I couldn’t. It is directly in front of me.

So, I pushed my skills and swung my blade toward it.

Clang!

My rapier clashed against the aura blade, and immediately, the cracks began to form on the cyan blade covering my rapier and the Sap Pulse, before they crushed, and I moved back, but it injured me heavily.

All I could do was protect my internals.

Hun!

I was moving back, and my heart skipped a beat. I thought he appeared in front of me, but no, something worse had happened.

The aura blades are coming at me, and a lot more than before. There are nine in the air, and he is still swinging his saber, sending more and more toward me.

The last thing I wanted to do was defend against them, but it is much better than taking his saber directly.

I pushed even more aura into Blitz Steps, and Fractals formed once more. Creating a cyan blade once more and Sap Pulse to strengthen me.

I dodge the first blade, which created another large hole on the floor, and the second one destroyed the column.

The third one appeared in front of me, and I moved my rapier to defend.

Clang!

Once more, it broke through my methods and sent me back even more broken, but this time, I didn’t have even a moment of rest.

Another blade appeared in front of me, and I swung my rapier with everything I had, creating a fractal, hoping it would form. Before my blade clashed, it would be the end of me.

Clang!

My blade clashed, and I moved back, avoiding two more blades with one passing me by an inch.

They created even bigger holes in my legacy.

At that moment, I realised why it didn’t appear in front of me. The man is intelligent, in his cold rage. He is destroying me by destroying my legacy.

My heart aches seeing it destroyed like this. If it kept happening, it wouldn’t be long before the floors above collapse, but it didn’t care.

He wants to hurt me, and for masters, it hurts nothing more than seeing their legacy being destroyed.

Clang!

Once more, I defended another blade and dodged two more, which destroyed the column and created a huge hole.

I didn’t have time to think about it. I formed fractals once more and defended against another aura blade, which injured me even further.

I am injured from top to bottom, with every bone in my hand cracked, giving me inhuman pain, but despite that, I am fighting.

Giving up is not a choice. Not anymore when he is hellbent on destroying me.

I avoided another blade, and it destroyed the whole wall on one side. It was already damaged, and this was the last straw; it broke the whole wall.

I wanted to curse and rage, but all I did was push all those emotions into my attack and methods.

Hun!

I was moving to defend against the blade appearing in front of me when I sensed something. It was from the girl. It surprised me, but what happened next shocked me even more.

The second one awakened it, and then the third and…

I wish I could look at them, but I couldn’t with the blades coming at me.

Adran Bryndon

I want to destroy him and everything he holds dear.

There is only one thing that the master holds dear: his legacy, and I am going to destroy it.

Damn the consequences!

I could have easily gone to him, but I am attacking him with aura blades. Giving him a choice to save his legacy, which is getting destroyed with every attack he misses.

It’s the first time I’ve been happy with his resistance, shocking as it may be.

It wouldn’t have been fun if it had ended quickly. I want him to see his legacy collapse. So, he would regret every time he challenged me.

….

Clang!

I defended, vomiting blood once more while taking a step backward, avoiding another blade and forming a fractal before moving to defend against the blade.

I could have avoided it, but this one is moving toward the patrons.

Most of them had run away, but some remained. If I hadn’t stopped the attack, it would have torn them apart.

Clang!

So, I defended suffering more injuries, before avoiding another aura blade, which crashed against the collapsing wall.

This is the second wall that has collapsed. If this continues, the entire floor will collapse.

“Regret it now, Silver? Seeing your legacy being destroyed,” he asked, laughing coldly.

“This is nothing but a shell, Bryndon,” I replied, looking directly into his frigid eyes.

“Velvet Garden is an idea that is engraved in our hearts. You can destroy this shell, but you never destroy the idea,” I stated.

These words have surprised even me. Follow current novls on novèlfire.net

Velvet Garden is really an idea that could not be destroyed. It’s not mine alone. I may have begun with me, but it has evolved, with every person having their own understanding of it.

It’s what makes the Velvet Garden so great, and I would sacrifice my life for it.

This clarity opened my mind wide, and I found the fractal suddenly speeding up. Forming instantly, with the power I had never felt before, the front of the method.

I didn’t have time to sense them clearly, I used it all and swung it toward the red aura blade in front of me.

Rip!

I was expecting the familiar clang, but I heard the ripping sound as my rapier cut through the aura blade, dividing it into two.

“Bastard!”

He cursed, and this time, he didn’t swing any blade, but came toward me.

I looked at him, and there is still a fear in my heart for him, but, like before, I will fight him to the end to protect the idea that we all cherish so much.

They believed in the idea, which is why they stayed here, and I will put my life on the line to defend them against anyone who wishes to harm them.

My legacy seemed to buzz with it. As if agreeing with me.

‘I am glad,’ I said.

Hun!

That is when I realised it. The buzz was the legacy, more than agreeing with me.

It is a sign of it…
