Chapter 738: Grade IV Legacy

Bang!
I saw the second wall falling, and that is the last straw for most people, as they begin to run toward the stairs.
In less than a minute, nearly the whole floor had been emptied. Now, there are barely a dozen patrons left, along with Grade I and Grade II madams, and an increasing number of officers.
I was thinking that when General Azalia entered. It was like a blur.
A hope lit up in my heart, and she was moving toward Lord Silver when she suddenly stopped with surprise in her eyes and, after a moment of hesitation, appeared beside the triumvirate.
I don’t know what they are talking about, but unwilling expressions appeared on her face a couple of times before she nodded and turned toward the group of mercenaries.
They are standing in position, ready to stop anyone who would move toward the fight.
I only glance at them before turning toward the Master Silver, and my heart aches. He is bleeding from every part of his body, with each attack, red aura blades sending him back.
I felt so powerless that I fisted my fingers, till they dug into my skin and began to bleed.
I didn’t care for the pain; it is nothing compared to watching Silver.
He could have easily done nothing; it wouldn’t have cost him anything. Instead, he stood up for Mage Wells, just as he had for Bell and others, even when that bastard fired a cannon at the Velvet Garden.
He had promised to protect us, and he is doing it.
I wish I could do the same for him, but I could not; I am an ant in front of the monster. I couldn’t even see his attacks; they all blur to me.
It filled me with deep, overwhelming powerlessness, because I want to protect him as he is doing for us.
Crack!
I felt something cracking deep within me, and a moment later, as vast as the sky, it burst out of me.
Immediately, I felt the eyes of three madams turned toward me with shock appearing in their eyes, and felt something powerful enveloping me, which contained that power, before it returned to me.
I know what it is, but it brough me no joy.
I could feel the aura of the monster, and mine is nothing in front of it, but I promised myself that I would train it hard. Make it powerful enough so that I would be able to deal with monsters like him.
“Regret it now, Silver? Seeing your legacy being destroyed step by step,” he asked, laughing coldly, with his voice booming across the whole legacy.
“This is nothing but a shell, Bryndon.”
“Velvet Garden is an idea that resides in our hearts. You can destroy this shell, but you can never destroy the idea from our hearts with your puny strength,” replied Master Silver.
He never spoke truer.
It is a beautiful building that I love very much, but it’s just a shell.
The real Velvet Garden is an idea; I believe in this idea. It is why I stayed. I got offers, much better than Revanna’s, but I didn’t take them.
The money might be huge, but it couldn’t be compared to Velvet Garden.
It’s when something shocking happened. For the first time, Master Silver didn’t get pushed back as he clashed against the red blade.
Instead, his rapier cleaved through that dangerous blade.
“Bastard!”
The monster cursed and moved toward the Velvet Garden. It made my heart skip a beat. The red blades might be dangerous, but they are nothing in front of the monster.
Hun!
My heart filled with worry when I sensed the legacy chiming in a tone of the most beautiful kind.
For a moment, I didn’t understand what was happening, when suddenly my eyes widened in understanding.
“Is this?” I asked in shock as I turned toward the tree, who looked just as shocked as I was, but they had a big smile on their faces.
“Advancement,” they replied in unison.
…
Adran Bryndon
I reached near him and was about to swing my sabre at him, using all my strength. No more waste of time; I want to finish him in one attack.
Hun!
I moved my sabre when I felt it. Feeling so vast, it overwhelmed me.
I froze in my place, not daring to believe what I was sensing.
“I can’t be!” I said, hoping it’s a lie, as I turned toward the wretched man. Only to hear the answer, I don’t want to hear.
….
“It’s advancing,” I said, feeling shocked like I had never been.
It’s the last thing I had expected. Hell, no one had expected. It hadnt been even two years since the legacy had been born, and it is already advancing to the throne.
It had only happened twice in this age, where thousands of legacies had been born and died.
So, one could imagine how rare it is.
I was focused on this when everything else disappeared in front of me.
It was dark before the multi-coloured sun appeared in front of me, and a moment after that, the planets.
They remained unchanging for a moment before a wave released from the core. It spread, covering more area as it does, and it absorbed the emotions present in this area.
The population of the city might be low, but there are dense emotions within it.
The past few months have been a rollercoaster, evoking high emotions in the people. The city is filled with them.
It is absorbing all as it spreads, and soon, it reaches the boundary of the city.
Last time, it had stopped there, but this time it didn’t. Its speed seemed to have increased as the density of emotion drastically decreased.
It is spreading lightning fast, reaching Panar, Almin, Nakar, Deerpond, Brimbale, and Norke, effectively covering half the region before stopping.
It had covered a massive area; the region is the size of a kingdom. It had covered half of it—more than what a Grade III does when advancing to the throne.
Tides of emotion are coming from these places, filling the core. Making it bigger and bigger every second.
Though it didn’t move the power toward the planet. Last time, after it had grown to the size of a truck. It began to spread power to the planets.
It didn’t take long for it to reach the size of a tennis court, the same size it had reached the last time, but it still continued to grow.
It had grown past that when it finally released the power to the planets while still absorbing the emotion and growing bigger.
Seeing that, relief flooded my heart.
The next moment, a large amount of power began to flood into the planet. The largest share went to the planets of Kama Rakalis, holder, extractor, boundary planets, and a few others.
A torrent of emotions is going toward them, and they are absorbing everything.
It is a lot of emotion, but a fraction of what the core is absorbing. It is a truly humongous amount of emotion essence, which is making it bigger and bigger.
Time passed, and I saw the changes appearing on the planets. They are becoming more realistic, with their presence becoming heavier.
I could feel the upgrades that Caena did start to come out as they got the fuel.
I had asked Caena not to do this, but now I am glad that she has upgraded them with the new knowledge. I could feel the massive power blooming out of them.
More and more power is enveloping them with every passing moment, while the core has grown larger.
It had now grown to the size of a baseball field and continued to grow rapidly. Absorbing ever-increasing emotional essence coming at it.
A small part of it is being sent to planets; they have already absorbed the essence more than they did the last time, but it feels like their appetite is far from being sated.
Soon, the size of the core reached that of a soccer field, and instead of being satiated, the pulling power from it increased.
Within a few moments, the emotions and the amount of essence it was absorbing had doubled. It had now started to pull, not only the emotion from the dense cluster-like cities, but also from the routes.
The river route has the most emotions, of all the most, nearly equal to all land routes. It didn’t surprise me, the river is the most used route in the region.
Hun!
I was watching it pulling the emotion, when suddenly a dense, terrible kind of emotion came toward me.
It is denser than the emotions coming from the city, and these emotions are very bad: terror, despair, confusion, resentment, resignation, and agony.
Feeling it, I couldn’t help but shudder from deep within my heart.
We are the masters of emotion, and the synod had provided enough information that we could recognise the act based on the emotion.
It is definitely a sacrifice or mass torture. Involving tens of thousands of people.
I wanted nothing to do with these emotions, but legacy absorbed and purified it, while I focused on the source, and when I felt, I felt the deep terror in my heart.
I immediately removed my focus from it.
The emotion my legacy is absorbing is nothing compared to what is in there. It is massive, feels endless, and ancient. I felt that, if I kept feeling, I might be swallowed by it.
I first thought it was the deed of the undead, as some of these emotions are coming from Norke and Gailhorn, but it is far too ancient and colossal.
I am just glad that the emotion coming from there is not more than 20% of what it is absorbing.
There is a resistance in there, but legacy is still absorbing the emotions despite. If there hadnt been, a whole sea of them came at me, something I don’t want.
It is a place near Norke; I had committed it to memory.
Finally, the core had stopped absorbing the emotions when it reached the size of over three soccer fields. Tens of times bigger than the last time, before it started to shrink.
As it did, its presence began to change. From Grade III, it started to advance into Grade IV throne.
The smaller it became, the more powerful its presence would be. The changes have begun to happen in the mist as well, and it begins to get denser and denser.
Soon, it shrank to the size of a soccer field and got the feeling of a throne, but it was still shrinking.
A few moments after that, it had shrunk to the size of a baseball field and the tennis field. Projecting a very powerful presence, but that is not the end.
It began to get smaller, making the mist denser and denser, until finally, when it reached the size of the bus, the transformation happened.
Its state changed from the mist to the liquid.
This is a recognition of Grade IV. From now on, the emotional essence produced from it will be liquid.
This is where the core should stop shrinking, but mine didn’t. It kept on shrinking, till it reached the size of a carriage; it is where they all stop, but it didn’t.
It kept getting smaller, with its presence becoming more powerful when it finally stopped.
Its size is now comparable to that of a standard golf cart. Projecting the presence that would make anyone buckle their knees.
It’s really powerful; more powerful than Wander’s Inn or Hayden Emporium. I would even say my legacy is as powerful as the thrones of the top on the continent.
Buzz!
I was looking at my core when the twenty-four planets at the boundary buzzed.
A moment later, thirty-six dots become visible at a distance. There are no plants, but faint dot marks.
Seeing them, the home couldn’t help but fill my heart. It would be tremendously helpful, even fate-changing, if the domain spread to even half the area of the new city.
That would be too much, seeing it is ten times bigger than central. So, I would be satisfied even if third or even fourth would be enough for me.
The strings came out of the twenty-four planets and connected the thirty-six dots beyond them.
Hun!
As they did, they pulled those thirty-six dots to them. Seeing that, a frown couldn’t help but appear on my face.
I wanted the domain to expand, but here those twenty-four planets brought them closer.
I was watching it when thirty-six dots reached them. When something happened. The twenty-six planets begin to pour power into them, massive power.
The dots began to get bigger, and then they started to look like meteorites.
Even then, it didn’t stop, and they got bigger and began changing shape and form, until they began to look like the tiny planets.
It’s when they finally stopped pouring the power into them.
They are about a quarter the size of twenty-four planets, but they are planets, with nearly similar power.
It is when I felt my legacy skills activating. It didn’t expand the legacy first like it does. Instead, its presence outside, I could see the thirty-six planets moving back.
As they did, I felt the presence of legacy covering that area. Seeing it, my eyes lit up.
My skills had changed. It had advanced, I don’t know what it had changed, but I could feel. In earlier advancements, the legacy skills would appear at first, but then they would appear later.
The thirty-six small planets move back. As they did, a legacy presence covered that area, formed between them and twenty-four large planets.
Soon, it reached the quarter of the area of the second circle, and it kept moving. Seeing it, joy couldn’t light up in my heart, especially when it kept going without losing speed.
A few moments passed, and it covered the third, and a moment after, half of the second circle was covered.
It was when it reached past the halfway mark that the skill began to resist the expansion, and it started to slow down. It disappointed me, but it had already helped me tremendously.
Hun!
It had nearly stopped when the twenty-four planets lit up in blazing power.
The skill resisted, but they overpowered it and pushed it further. It is resisting, but it started moving. Every inch it covered, the resistance would increase, but the planets would push more power into it.
Before I knew it, it covered 75% of the second circle, and it truly started resisting hard.
I began to grow worried as it might break the skill, but the planets didn’t seem to care. They pushed the thirty-six small planets further and further.
By the time they covered 90% of the second circle. The skill started resisting intensely.
So much that I feared it would break, but the twenty-four planets kept pushing the skill, till I felt the cracks begin to appear on this skill, but didn’t stop.
I feared the skill would shatter any moment, and it would have when twenty-four planets finally stopped pushing the skill and thirty-six small planets.
It only stopped when they had reached their original place, at the boundary of the second circle.
Now, the power of the legacy encompassed the city, as well as its expansion. It is going to help me beyond anyone could imagine.
Hun!
I was in those thoughts when, finally, the legacy began to expand. As it did, I sensed the change. This expansion is different.
It’s not hard, but more fluid.
Moments passed, and the legacy expanded rapidly, before stopping, while I watched in deep shock.
‘It’s going to shock the whole world!’ I thought, seeing how massive its legacy is going to be, the current size is going to look like a child in front of it.
