Chapter 736: Colder Than Winter

“Fuck, this is going to be interesting,” said someone not far away as they moved toward the wall fast as the man took out the weapon.

Not a weapon, but a damn artifact.

Those who were still watching, sitting up, got up and ran toward the wall despite us asking them to walk away from the floor.

Nobody is willing to do that. Everybody wants to watch the show.

The tables, plants, art, and everything else on the floor are disappearing fast; within seconds, nothing remains on the floor.

It becomes barren with only people remaining there. They are not willing to leave and become more excited seeing the artifact being drawn.

“Are you all right?” asked Sister Caena as Miss Wells came toward us, who nodded before she hugged her.

The madman no longer cares about anything else, including her. His mind is now solely focused on Master Silver.

I shuddered when I looked at the attack. It froze every inch of me, and I wanted to look away, but I didn’t.

I kept my eyes focused and prayed that nothing happened to Master Silver.

He is fighting for us, for every employee.

Just like that fateful day when that bastard had tried to blast the legacy. He didn’t back down then, even when they fired cannons at the Velvet Garden, and he will not back down now.

It didn’t matter how strong the enemy was. He will fight for every person under him, whether it is Velvet Garden or the domain of Greltheaven.

I looked at Saber coming toward me, and his eyes filled with raging anger and madness.

I know, nothing will stop him.

So, my blade appeared in my hand, and I swung it toward his, with the cyan blade covering it.

I didn’t hold back on anything. I used aura methods and also pushed aura into my skills and the power of the legacy to enhance them further.

It’s my strongest attack I’ve ever.

This is far from enough against it. That artefact has immense power; it would shatter me easily if it clashed against me with such power.

So, I used the last card I have. My artifact, Rhidon’s Vitae, pushed its power into his artifact to suppress its power.

Rhidon’s Vitae is a very powerful artifact, and right now, I do not care about the emotional essence it is consuming for such power.

As I did, I could see the frown appearing on his face, but that didn’t stop the attack; the saber kept moving toward me.

Clang!

The saber clashed against me, and I felt that movement of a wave, which felt gentle before it hit me like a sledgehammer.

It shattered the Sap Pulse and sent me back a step with blood coming out of my mouth, eyes, ears, and every orifice of my body.

If I didn’t have Sap Pulse and the protection of the legacy covering me, the attack would have torn me apart.

That artifact had blasted the people into pulp.

It destroyed the Sap Pulse and even brought cracks to the Falling Leaf. It would have shattered as well, if not for it improving during my training with Kalos.

He looked surprised, but a moment later, the surprise disappeared, and rage returned to its eyes with even greater intensity.

Its pride seemed to have been hurt further, seeing me defending the attack.

He is Lv. 40 powerhouse, who fought countless battles and even killed Lv. 40 powerhouses, but here I took the attack from him, while he used the artifact.

“Fucking masters!

“If I didn’t break every bone in your body, I wouldn’t be an Adran Bryndon of my name!” he swore and attacked again, this time, his attacks were more powerful.

Earlier, the attack was made purely of the artifact’s power without skills or aura, but now it is using skills.

I could feel them clearly, and the power that sent a shudder through my heart.

The attack is faster and stronger than before.

I created the fractal of Sap Pulse once more as Kalos had instructed. I had felt weakness when it had shattered earlier, and fixed it.

I am feeling a headache with skill, suppression, and methods, and didn’t want to do anything other than focus on him, but I need the strengthening method to be stronger, given how it had shattered with a single strike earlier.

Clang!

I was barely able to defend the attack with a sword, but not without a cost.

Once more, the method shattered, but this time, the large cracks had also spread across it, taking it to the verge of being completely cracked.

I rapidly took the steps back, bleeding from every orifice, while resisting the pain that the force of the artifact was putting me through.

I want to tear my skin apart.

Sable Wave is an artifact with the force of the wave. It directly hits the body, making it explode. He had exploded the people with this artifact.

Now, it wants to do the same. It would have torn my skin in a hundred places if it were not for the power of the legacy and artifact protecting me.

They are still keeping it at bay, but they won’t be for long, looking at his expression.

He didn’t say anything and attacked again, while I swung my blade to defend. At the same time, creating a fractal of Sap Pulse.

I need a method to be stronger. To make me stronger and also bear its attack, because the power of the legacy and artifact isn’t going to be enough.

This time, I had removed more weaknesses from the method, not only from SAP Pulse, but also from Falling Leaf, which is nearly shattered under the attack.

This one is an even stronger attack. It made me scared, but I can’t back down now.

He will not.

His ego had been hurt; given his personality, he would use everything he had to beat me, while I had to not only survive, but also keep standing.

For the dignity of my employees and the Velvet Garden.

Clang!

Once more, his attack hit me and brought cracks to the Falling Leaf, and shattered the Sap Pulse, but this time, it lasted a fraction of a second longer, despite being a stronger attack.

Though the bones of my wrists had cracked further and internal injuries worsened, making me bleed even more through my orifices.

“You shouldn’t have stood against me, Silver. Now, you will pay the price that you will regret for the rest of your life,” he said, launching another attack.

“You are talking like you beat me, Bryndon. I am still standing,” I replied as I moved my blade defensively to defend against his attack.

It made him glare at me and pushed the power of his attack further.

Clang Clang Clang!

He attacked one after another, like the angry waves of the ocean that want to destroy everything in its path.

I’m defending, but barely. Every attack is making my injuries worse and worse.

Even the healing spells covering me have no effect. I am getting injured faster than I am healing. They seemed to barely affect me.

If this continues, I won’t be able to last much longer.

I am pushing as much power as I can from the legacy and artifact. I won’t be able to pull it any further; the only thing that could help me survive is aura methods.

Because I won’t be able to push my skills with the aura to the power I need to defend against his attacks.

My control is not that great, and the sheer force will only take me so far. So, the only thing that could help is the aura methods.

They are my option against it. It’s not easy, but I will have to do it or let my people and the Velvet Garden suffer the humiliation.

The attacks kept coming, and I defended, despite the worsening injuries.

Pushing my skills, the legacy, and the artifacts for everything they could give me, but focusing most on the methods as they begin to take more and more load with every attack.

The methods are improving, helping me survive every attack, which seemed to be stronger than the last.

Still, despite defending, my condition is not improving. It’s getting worse with every attack. He seemed to know that as well, as he kept pushing his attacks on me.

Hun!

Once more, his attack came, and I instantly realised it was a different attack.

I felt two more skills activating, sending a shudder through my heart, which made me want to give up, but I pushed that thought as far as possible and calmed myself.

As I did, the fractal of Sap Pulse began to form. The aura moves in an intricate geometric pattern, forming a fractal that contains all my insight into the method.

The fractal entered inside me. Filling me with the strength, I have become so familiar with it.

It made me stronger, and also my attacks. It’s a strengthening skill.

Clang!

His saber clashed against mine, and immediately, I felt its massive power. The power of the artifact is enhanced by further skills.

It felt like a house-sized sledgehammer crashing against me.

It immediately began to create cracks across my cyan blade, before the force came at me, and the cracks began to appear on it as well.

If one looks at the cyan line across my body. They would find thousands of tiny cracks spreading across it. For original chapters go to novlfire.net

The cracks spread, and I thought it would shatter it all the time, but to my utter surprise. It didn’t; it came very close to shattering, but it didn’t break.

Saying I am shocked would be an understatement.

Because the method didn’t shatter, it helped me bear the worst effects of the attack. I only felt a quarter of its power, than the full force of the attack.

It was why I vomited the blood, but for the first time, I didn’t take a step back.

It shocked even the man in front of me.

“Bastard!” he cursed and attacked again, with more power than before, while I healed my method with new understanding.

Clang!

I defended, as I had earlier, and the Sap Pulse cracked. It didn’t break, helping me bear the worst of the attack’s power, and this time, there are fewer cracks.

He attacked more and more, and I defended, without breaking my methods, despite his attacks getting stronger.

Every attack I defended made him angrier, with stronger attacks, but I kept defending.

It didn’t fill me with any relief, but a sombre reality. I know it’s not its full power.

He is not using it, because he thinks it is beneath him to crush an ant like me with such power. However, if I keep defending like this, he will use his full power.

I don’t know how I will defend myself when that happens.

Hun!

Over a minute passed when he suddenly stopped. It surprised me until I looked at his eyes, and what I saw made me shudder through my heart.

Gone the burning, maddening rage. It was now replaced with rage, which is colder than the winter itself.

Looking at those eyes, I felt my soul freeze. It didn’t make me feel good, and I prepared myself for the very bad things that were about to happen.

In those eyes, I saw a determination to cross any limit. He is not going to hold back anymore.
