Chapter 2069 - 2069: Forcing A Change
…
Roar!
Boom! Boom!
As the battle progressed, Chaotic Luck started summoning more of the advanced undead creatures under his arsenal, such as the Blazing Skeleton Apes and huge Blazing Flying Skeletons.
This move would put a lot of burden on his mana, especially when he needed to constantly replenish his army whenever someone from them fell in battle.
However, he still had a bit of an advantage over the opposing side, especially when he noticed that the lich that his opponent had summoned started slowing down its summoning.
This was an indication that the opposing side was being affected by his current ‘strategy’.
“It is working! That guy must be exhausting his mana pool!” mumbled Chaotic Luck realized that the rate of the opposing side’s replenishment of army, especially when he started summoning his more advanced blazing undead creatures.
With the opposing side constantly copying everything he was doing, the mana consumption that they had should be similarly huge as his.
He was fully aware of how much mana he had drained up until now, which was only recovered because of the overpowered blessings that he currently possessed.
The opposing side might be able to copy all his spells and most of his abilities, particularly when it came to tactics. But he refused to believe that a mere summons would possess everything he had, such as his Titles and the blessings cast on him by those powerful figures.
“If I can’t exhaust all its mana pool, then I should at least force it to disappear by burning all the remaining duration that it has on the field,” mumbled Chaotic Luck while continuously summoning more of his Legion of the Chaotic Sun.
He was becoming more confident about this battle of attrition, especially when his mana pool kept on increasing and returning to its original state, giving him the sense of having an unlimited mana pool.
Seeing this, Adelbert understood that he had to do something about this, especially when his side was currently facing a dangerous situation.
“This is going to be a bit trickier,” he mumbled, trying to find a solution for his current predicament.
The only thing that he could think of right now was to somehow catch Chaotic Luck and take him down.
However, this was going to be a great challenge even for him, especially with the current state of the battlefield.
Realizing that he could not do anything with the current situation, Adelbert had to acknowledge that his current strategy could no longer continue.
The opposing side had the initiative this time, which his Lich could no longer keep up with. He fully understood that his situation could no longer afford to let this battle of attrition continue.
He had to force a change that he could use to break the current predicament.
Swoosh!
He immediately issued a series of commands, adjusting his forces and reorganizing their chaotic formation.
He wanted to establish a solid line of defense first before finding a way to deal with the opposing forces.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
He had left those who were still engaging in an intense battle against the opposing forces, only reorganizing the ranks of those who were still far from the center of the chaos.
As for those aerial forces fighting in the air, he just let them do whatever they want since he wanted to put all his focus on his forces on the ground.
It did not take that long before his forces on the ground managed to form a strong battle formation, which they immediately started charging at the opposing side.
Due to Chaotic Luck’s current disorganized formation, his forces immediately suffered a huge blow. It almost instantly breached through his line of defense, particularly when his frontline was almost nonexistent.
Fortunately, the Blazing Skeleton Apes managed to halt the advance of the opposing side, which was immediately assisted by the skeleton mages and skeleton archers from behind.
Seeing that his opponent had taken a different approach, Chaotic Luck immediately responded and reorganized his battle formation.
However, he still focused on relying on his overwhelming numbers by constantly replenishing the numbers of his legion without pause.
He had even increased his pace, trying to keep up with his opponent’s relentless assault.
Seeing this, Adelbert could not help but raise his brows before continuing. “Oh~! So this is how you want to deal with the situation, huh?”
“Let’s see how long our young going to keep this up. I want to see if your mana pool is truly inexhaustible!” he said while issuing a series of commands, which the lich beside him had executed.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battlefield was immediately littered with skeletal remains, which came from both armies. These remains stayed on the battlefield for a while longer before both liches had detonated them by activating the ‘Corpse Explosion’ spell.
Adelbert even became bolder with this and started utilizing his flying skeleton as another form of aerial force. He purposely let them dive toward the ground, targeting the backline of the opposing side, before suddenly detonating their bodies with corpse explosion.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The explosions immediately caused huge damage to Chaotic Luck’s army, putting serious pressure on his forces. Even his mana pool was greatly impacted by it, draining a huge chunk of it, even with the help of all his buffs and powerful mana regeneration.
Regardless, he still continued to summon more, further replenishing the number of his legion.
“I guess it is time to use more spells,” he mumbled while giving a series of commands telepathically to his more advanced undead creatures.
Roar! Roar!
A group of Blazing Skeletal Apes suddenly jumped out of the ground, dragging long blazing chains on their hands.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Immediately after, they threw them into the air, launching the huge anchor-like objects toward the opposite end of the battlefield.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
These blazing anchors landed at the center of the opposing army, crushing those near the point of impact.
Immediately after, these anchors started exploding, bombarding the surrounding area with powerful explosions that further destroyed the formation of the opposing side.
“This f*cker sure knows how to take advantage of the situation,” cursed Adelbert, especially when he saw that spot where those anchors landed on the spot where there was a high concentration of his firepower.
He was not sure if it was on purpose, especially when it accurately hit where it hurt the most.
Moreover, it was not the end since he also saw that huge flying skeletons with a pair of massive blazing wings spread out.
They broke through the line of aerial defenses that he had set up with his army and dived straight to where he was standing, along with the lich beside him.
It was clear that Chaotic Luck was giving him the taste of his own medicine.
“Don’t underestimate me,” he said while signaling for the Lich to deal with it.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
Copying the move Chaotic Luck had used, a group of blazing skeletal apes suddenly jumped out of his army’s ranks and threw similarly huge blazing anchors into the air, which immediately clashed with the diving flying skeletons, making them explode earlier.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sky was immediately filled with a series of explosions as if there was a firework display going on.
Seeing this, Chaotic Luck could not help but furrow his brows, seemingly realizing something. “Can that Lich only copy the spells that I have used?”
The more he thought about this, the more he became convinced of his thoughts.
“Fortunately, I did not summon my Hell Pilgrim right away,” he mumbled, feeling that he would be in trouble if it were copied as well.
“Moreover, it seems like he can only copy my spells right after I have used them,” he added, feeling that he finally found a way to deal with the current situation.
“Let’s give it a try then,” he was planning to run a bit of an experiment to see if his theory was right.
However, he would not just do it without a thought. He would be using a bit of strategy with this as well, planning to deal another serious damage to the opposing forces.
While the Blazing Skeletal Apes were causing chaos amid the opposing forces, Chaotic Luck suddenly used one of his advanced spells.
These skeletal apes formed a line while facing the direction where Adelbert and the Lich were standing. They then opened their mouth while gathering a huge amount of energy toward it.
Whoosh!
It did not take long before all these skeletal apes finished charging the energies, which Chaotic Luck immediately released with his command.
“Fire!”
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Beams of light flew straight at Adelbert and the Lich, not giving them the time to respond.
There was a bit of a delay with the Lich’s movements due to Adelbert controlling it. It was unable to quickly mirror the actions Chaotic Luck had just taken, which was why it could only order the skeletal apes on its side to block the incoming beams of light to protect them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Seeing this, Chaotic Luck’s eyes suddenly lit up, finding another way to counter his opponent.
