Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 541 - 539:The LifeTree Of Prime.
Chapter 541: Chapter 539:The LifeTree Of Prime.
The tower of ascension cut a line straight through space as we moved through multiple space warps, heading straight for the center of the Prime universe.
"So, you say these Eruvine family people have made their camp around the Lifetree of Prime?" I asked Sana, my eyes focused on the fascinating process of the multiple initiated warp drives.
"Yes," she replied. "Being bearers of the purest life-based bloodline in all of Prime, and being the sole attendants and servants of the Lifetree in any universe, the Eruvines always make their domains close to the Lifetree. In most cases, their domains often span a few light-years around the Lifetree itself, forming a protective shield around it, alert for any form of danger or intrusion."
"So you’re saying they’ll notice us if we get too close?"
"If you didn’t want them to notice, they wouldn’t, but I have a feeling you didn’t ask me that question because you’re worried about them noticing us."
"No, I didn’t," I grinned, pulling the tower spirit into my arms.
"Hey!!! Let me go!!" she protested.
"Nah... you look beautiful when you’re flustered like that."
"This bastard..."
"As I was saying, going in unnoticed feels a little too mundane. I would like it if we arrived with much more of a bang."
"What bang are you talking about? Are we not just going there to get the Lifetree and begin trying to bring back your parents?" Sana asked, clearly confused.
"Yes, but an arrival is necessary. Wouldn’t want them thinking I’m afraid of them or anything now, would I?"
"Your reasoning for doing some of the things you do truly baffles me. Who abandons stealth and goes for exposure just to prove something?"
"Me."
...
...
"Alright, now that... is impressive." I couldn’t help muttering as I saw the structure ahead of me.
"Is that...?" Salazar’s words cut short as the Chronari’s eyes widened in awe.
"Damn... can something truly be that beautiful?" were Malachi’s honest thoughts.
They were amazed, and I couldn’t blame them. What we were currently seeing was deserving of such a reaction.
"Welcome, Dante, to the center of the universe. I present to you the Lifetree, Prime’s living administrator of all things involving light." Sana’s cool voice snapped me from my stunned awe as I looked at the beauty within my embrace. "That’s... the Lifetree?"
"Yes..."
"Magnificent..."
The Lifetree of Prime.
I had expected something impressive because of the way Sana had spoken about it. But even then, I hadn’t expected anything quite like this.
There was no way a tree could be that impressive, right?
I was wrong.
Very, very wrong.
The thing was magnificent.
We hadn’t even reached its region of the universe yet, and it already dominated our view. A vast pillar of emerald and vibrant green stood at the very center of everything, so impossibly large that distance seemed meaningless. It was as though we were standing right beneath it, gazing up at something that had no business being real.
And surrounding it, in every direction, was a sight that made the scale of the tree even harder to comprehend.
Galaxies.
Myriads upon myriads of galaxies belonging to the Eruvine family formed a great cosmic circle around the Lifetree of Prime. They stretched across every angle, filling the darkness with countless spirals of light, each one turning in its own slow dance around the ancient entity at their center.
From where we stood, the galaxies looked like jewels scattered around an emerald crown.
And the crown itself was the tree.
Its trunk rose through the heart of the universe, growing beyond sight in both directions. Its roots reached deep into the very fabric of reality, spreading through layers of existence I couldn’t even begin to imagine. They didn’t merely burrow into the ground; they held onto reality itself, as though the universe had been built around them.
Its branches stretched outward in every direction, splitting again and again until their number became impossible to count. Each one carried streams of transparent green light, thin as threads, yet so numerous that they resembled rivers flowing through the heavens.
They pulsed with life.
Some shone brightly, their light racing along the branches with fresh vigor. Others flickered softly, their glow fading as though their journey had reached its end.
Birth.
Death.
Every beginning and every ending.
They were all recorded within those endless branches, each life finding its place among the countless streams of light. I could see no individual leaves from this distance, yet the canopy spread so far that it seemed to cover the universe itself—a boundless sea of emerald that reached toward the farthest galaxies.
And all around it, the Eruvine galaxies revolved in their magnificent circle, countless worlds held within the shadow of the greatest tree I had ever seen.
It wasn’t simply a tree standing in the universe.
It was a tree around which an entire cosmic domain had gathered.
A guardian standing at the heart of creation, watching over the endless cycle of birth and death while the galaxies turned around it like an eternal procession.
For the first time in a very long while, I found myself without a single joke to make.
I simply stared.
"...Holy shit."
The words escaped me before I could even stop them. Luckily, the little man had also been too stunned by what he was seeing to have picked up on my gaffe.
"Wonderful, isn’t it?" Sana asked, clearly pleased at our reaction.
"It is, but to think..." I shook my head in disappointment.
"To think what?" She tilted her head curiously, her expression cute.
"To think this thing is a part of the very cosmic pillar that had harmed you, haaa... that reduces its prestige quite significantly... what a pity." It truly was. This thing could’ve easily been something worth preserving, but—
"Its master dared cause you pain, and now it’ll have to answer for those crimes... they all will." The murderous intent in my voice snapped the others from their awe-induced trance as they also came to.
"Dante..." I only smiled as I caught Sana’s complicated expression.
"Didn’t I tell you already? Harm what is mine and you shall pay dearly, but before that..."
"Shaia... will this do?" I had to confirm the true reason we were here.
"It should, but we’ll need to get closer and try to convince it first."
"Convince? Humph! It’ll do it whether it wants to or not; it does not have a choice. It never did." I replied coldly. Yet before we could move any further—
"Visitors from afar, please, I urge you to step off the structure, or we shall be forced to attack." A voice reached us from a distance too far to begin calculating.
"Hmmm?" I turned my head up, my eyes peering through multiple light-years ahead, and then—
"Ohh? Looks like someone was expecting us. Interesting..." I couldn’t help but smile at the realization. "Looks like I won’t be needing that flashy entrance after all, as something has already done the heavy lifting."
I put Sana down, moving toward the front.
"Get ready, boys. We’re about to meet new faces, and these ones came prepared."
