Chapter 540: Chapter 538:Destination...

"Alright, what next?" Malachi asked, slouching in a chair as he picked at his ear with his shrunken staff.

We’d gathered back within the Absolute Mansion after taking care of the remaining Calderan family. The event was as swift as I’d expected it to be. The little hiccup with that animal had made it so I lost out on devouring a significant amount of power, but it mattered not in the full scheme of things. After all,

"The entirety of creation is mine for the taking; losing out on a few galaxies is nothing but a trifle." That’s all it was.

"Well, monkey, this time we’re heading toward the location of the Lifetree of the Prime Universe . It’s time I start chasing after bringing my parents back."

"What about the Abyss gates?" Sana chimed up.

"Ahh... those. What to do with that sneaky little fucker..." The Abyss gates—truly, that was another thread I was interested in chasing, but to put it ahead of bringing back Mom and Dad? "The Abyss can wait. Since whatever is inside there can’t come out due to circumstances, then it can only wait its turn."

"Alright then, when do we depart?"

"Whenever you’re ready, my beautiful tower spirit. Heh! Looks like you’re eager to meet your mother-in-law."

"Humph! Eager to rattle your ass out and have someone put you in your place? Yes, I definitely am."

"Ack... can’t you just be nice?"

"To you? And have you take advantage of that fact? Never!"

"Tch!"

"Big brother?" Lucien chimed up, turning around to face me as he made himself comfortable on Aunt V’s lap. "Another road trip?"

"Yes, little man, another road trip."

"Lucien gets to fight?"

"Of course—"

"Absolutely not!"

"—not. Hehehehe... whatever your Mommy Raven says is correct, kid."

Argue with the black-haired murder machine that still remembered the bad words the kid said? Fat chance. Imagine forgetting a life-changing event, yet somehow still having perfect memory of the bad words a kid learned. Talk about being petty, humph.

"Mommy Raven, pleeeeaaasseee?" The kid decided to pull out his secret weapon.

Puppy dog eyes, a pitiful expression, pouting lips, shoving his face into hers—the full toddler battle set. The room lit up with sparkles and everything from the overload of cuteness. I could see Elira and Sana already folding like wet tissue, the women obviously susceptible to the kid’s tactics. I was already smiling within, waiting for Aunt V herself to fold. After all, she pampered the kid to no end; surely she was going to—

"No means no. Lucien, you’re not fighting. You’re too small and fragile. Grow up a bit more first, and we can discuss it."

The sappy mood, flowers, cuteness overload—everything came to a crashing halt the moment Aunt V opened her mouth to speak.

"Ehh?" I couldn’t believe it. "Aunt V, did you... did you just disagree?"

"Hmm? Something wrong?"

"Something wrong? He just pulled out the whole artillery! How are you unaffected? Look at that face? Those eyes? How can you say no? He’s adorable!!"

Somehow I was now the one pleading the kid’s case as though it were mine.

"Right!? He’s sooo cute!!! That’s why he can’t go around fighting!! He needs to grow up a bit more, let me love him a lot more, before he can start being reckless and get his face all roughed up."

"Ehh!? That’s your reason? THAT?" I turned around, looking for any form of support, but—

"Hehehehe... indeed, Aunt Raven knows best. Let the kid stay in your safe embrace." —Malachi.

"Hahahahaha.... Indeed! Kid, listen to your Mommy Raven. No fighting with big brothers. Just stay there and hang out with your precious Mommy Raven." —Paku.

"No more kids’ entertainment for the next few years? I’m sold—ahem, I mean, his safety is truly of the highest importance." —Leo.

"Freedom. Freedom! FREEDOM!!!" Salazar wasn’t even trying to be subtle about his own excitement, as he was quite literally jumping for joy.

"Damn... kid really traumatized them, huh?" Amusement curled the edges of my lips as I watched them rejoice over no longer needing to get involved with Lucien’s "fun time" for the next however long Aunt V had planned on keeping the child hostage.

"Big brother..." He looked at me, hoping I could do something, but—

"Sorry, little man, looks like there’s no fighting for you."

"Pooh..."

"Pout all you want, kid. The woman has more hold over me than you can ever imagine. Dare go against someone who lets me do whatever I want every night? Fat chance."

"Sacrificing a child’s happiness for your perverted activities is evil."

"He’ll survive. She’s only doing it ’cause she cares."

"That’s what you’re telling yourself?"

"Yes."

"You’re hopeless."

I ignored the chatty woman.

"We better get going then, unless you wish to get yourself tangled in another confrontation." Sana’s words cut through my thoughts.

"Another confrontation? With who?"

"The Calderans, or did you forget what I said earlier?"

"Ahh... you mean about this being part of their universal cluster? But isn’t Prime some type of big deal with multiple powers involved in its existence? Even the divine and demon realms have a stake here, don’t they? Let’s not even add the abyss and whatever was going on within it. Could it all truly be part of one family’s cluster?"

I doubted it. Prime, similar to Terra, had something these terrifying powers wanted. What that was, I was still yet to find out, but one thing I knew for sure was that none of these powers seemed likely to let such a location fall under the jurisdiction of a single family.

"You may be right, but this is still going to attract their attention. You just wiped out an entire galactic cluster of their family’s station within Prime, essentially cutting off their hold on this universe. Surely they’ve already been alerted, and I don’t think the Phoenix-Dragoverse’s ongoing war will be enough of a distraction."

Sana reasoned, and I couldn’t help but agree, still...

"Does it truly matter?. The results will be the same regardless of who comes, so it matters not whether we hurry or not."

"I know the results remain unchanging, but they’re going to be a persistent pest. They’ve got beings on the world-core stages of power after all, and not just a few. So unless you wish to delay your parents’ revival, then by all means."

I stared, silent.

The proposition was tempting. A horde of powerful people just waiting for me to feed on? And what’s more, they’d be delivering themselves on a silver platter. I could already imagine the increase my existence level would get if I did wait for them to arrive.

But like Shaia said, they would be an unnecessary waste of time, especially since a confrontation right now wasn’t necessary. There were too many things to get done than to bother about a puny cosmic power.

My parents’ revival, after all, wasn’t something to scoff about. I was still massively skeptical of how the feeble Lifetree of this universe was going to help me with the task—something Denial couldn’t do due to my low existence level, and I was to believe some feeble tree could do so?

Shaia had said the technicalities and complications that would arise if I forced it were why we needed to use a Lifetree, so no, I wasn’t about to get derailed again.

I needed to get this done, and done now. I’d already wasted enough time with pointless fun.

"Fine... Sana, lead the way. Let’s see just what this Lifetree has that can help bring Mom and Dad back."

"Alright, I’ll set a course... Destination: The Center of Prime."
