Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 533 - 531:Ravena (1)
Chapter 533: Chapter 531:Ravena (1)
Floating islands.
Central island.
"Big brother! Can’t I come with you?" a young, beautiful, black-haired woman asked, her expression pouting as she gave the man before her a pitiful look.
"You’re too old for acts like this, Ravena, and they won’t work on me, not like before," the man scoffed.
"Humph! I’m never too old for anything. I’m still your precious baby sister and you should treat me like one, humph!" Ravena pouted, crossed her arms, and turned her head away, unwilling to speak to her big brother.
"Suit yourself, I’m still leaving without you." Regulus shrugged, placed his things in his ring, and moved toward the exit of his room.
"Ehh? You’re really leaving without me!?" Ravena screamed in distress.
"Of course. I’m leaving without all of you. Even Sera isn’t coming with me this time. It’ll just be me and that stoic bastard. He claims he can finally beat me, humph! Let’s see him try," Regulus snorted.
"You and Valen are still going at it? Haven’t you two already concluded this childish rivalry? Haven’t you won since you left Aeternum? Why do you two keep fighting?" Ravena asked, disbelieving of what these two were on about.
It had been a few years already since they left Aeternum, and yet these two were still fighting like they’d never left—Valen never staying down no matter how many times he was defeated, and Regulus himself always ready to entertain a fight.
"Heh! Well, my annoying sister," Regulus smiled, posing like a man about to deliver infinite wisdom, "it’s because I like bullying the old fucker, ahahahahahahahah!!!" The man laughed, amused by his own antics.
"Haa... You’re a child, big brother, and you should probably stop antagonizing Valen all the time. He might pay you back one of these days and you’ll end up being bullied yourself."
"Hah! Maybe when the demon realm dies out, or rather, when I myself finally die and he’s left to get some form of head start."
"What’s wrong with you?"
"Humph! You think that bastard will stop training if I ever kicked the bucket? He’ll keep training, probably thinking he’ll use the chance to get strong enough to beat me up in hell. But fat chance. I’ll be training in hell too, and when he inevitably comes to meet me down there, I’ll fuck him up too, take over the place, and reign as demon supreme, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!"
Raven just stared in dumbfounded shock at the laughing maniac. She had been the one acting childish just a few moments ago, and now she was getting properly reminded of just who needed to grow up between the two of them.
"Haa... I sometimes wonder how you and Valen are even friends. It feels like something you forced on the poor guy," she sighed.
"Humph! That bastard is just wearing that stoic face as a disguise. Place him somewhere bloodshed and gore are the only rules, and watch him transform into a murdering machine. The bastard’s smile only ever comes out when that twisted blade, Rhadamanth, gets soaked in blood."
"Fine. Fine. But where are you guys going this time?"
"The Abyss."
"WHAT!?" Ravena startled. "The Abyss? Why there?"
"Because it’s the only place that can keep up with our powers at full force, and we’re not planning on holding back." Regulus smiled, ruffling his sister’s hair. "You should start looking for someone, Ravena. You’re not getting any younger."
"Hands off." She smacked his hands away. "Seraphina finally turned you mushy, didn’t she?"
"Ahahahaha... Love is a beautiful thing, baby sister, and I truly hope you find one."
"Yea. Let me escape Father’s attempt at getting me involved with those fools from outside first."
Regulus’s expression iced over the moment he heard those words.
"He’s still going on about that nonsense?" His words were cold, emotionless.
"He is, but don’t worry, I can handle it." Ravena waved him off.
"I still don’t understand why you will not let me handle this myself."
"Because if I did, then the family might just suffer a catastrophe, and I don’t want to be termed a sinner by my ancestors."
"Ancestors be damned, baby sister, just let me take care of those fools—all of them." Regulus’s murderous intent began filling the room as a thick golden aura began radiating off him.
He could put up with all their attempts over the years of trying to get him to bow his head or forcefully come with them to their territory but this... lusting over his baby sister was something he couldn’t stomach, not for anything.
Ravena smiled, warmth curling in her stomach at the overprotective nature of her brother, but—
"Don’t worry, big brother. You know how powerful I am. Very few within these snake-filled lands can lay a hand on me, and even those that can won’t get off so easily, so don’t worry about it."
Regulus was unconvinced. "At least leave this place and find somewhere else to stay. You’re more than ready to be self-sufficient."
"I know, but you wouldn’t visit as much if I did. The uncertainty that makes you nervous is what pushes you to come over so often, hehehe." She laughed.
"This... you know that’s not true."
"Hahahaha... I know. But I love when you get flustered, fufufufufu... Now be fast and get Seraphina pregnant. I want my husband here fast."
"Ehh? What did you just say?" Regulus froze, disbelief coloring his expression.
"I just decided. Since you want me to get laid so fast, then I’ll just have a child with your son, fufufufu... Let’s see how you like that."
"Ravena, stop saying dangerous words."
"Worry not. I’ll let Sera know as well, so you two, chop chop."
Regulus’s face turned awkward. His sister was saying weird things again, and even for him, that was a bit much.
"Haa... I’ll just leave. I might lose my mind if I hear any more," he sighed, ready to depart.
"Take care, big brother. Don’t die."
"Hah! The thing capable of killing me hasn’t been brought into existence yet." The man laughed, and with a subtle movement, vanished from the spot, leaving Raven watching the place he’d disappeared from with a smile on her face.
"Alright. Back to training."
....
A few days later.
Knock! Knock!
The soft sounds of knocking broke the woman from her meditation as her eyes opened slowly.
"Old snake, you can enter. No need for theatrics," her cold voice answered the person at the door. With a slow creaking sound, the doors were pushed open, and an elderly figure stepped through.
"Ravena... a word, if you may."

A/N: I’m rushing this backstory cause I really, really don’t want to write out what happened to raven. That’s why I’ve been avoiding it. So forgive me for rushing it, and as always,
