Chapter 2653 - 2671: A Hypothesis

"If in the past, I, Jane, and Jillian after being born, we weren’t held wrongly by the nurse, and grew up with our biological parents, then what would we be like now?" Julie Sampton threw out this idea.

"I don’t know." Bright Sampton shook his head.

"Maybe if I grew up with family, under grandparents’ education, I’d become a kind person like Jane, and I’d take care of you, my younger brother, like Jane takes care of you. I wouldn’t fear poverty, wouldn’t fear others’ cold eyes, wouldn’t fear being outshined by others."

Julie sighed, "While Jillian, growing up in the Chip Family, might under years of oppression develop the courage to resist just like me. She leaves the Chip Family, ventures into the city to struggle, without friends, without education, just like me back then, wandering at society’s lowest level, earning a small salary, yet satisfied in having left the Chip Family to live a free and promising life."

"There’s also the possibility she lacks the courage to leave the Chip Family, succumbing to their oppression, working in a factory after middle school graduation, with her earnings taken away by the Chip Family. Then, when she reaches the right age, being exchanged for a hefty bride price to marry into some well-off family in the village, leading a commonplace life of giving birth and taking care of the home as an ordinary farmer’s wife."

"Such a life might not be very good, or might not be very bad, but at least she wouldn’t have reached the point of losing her life."

Julie said this, lifted her head, and looked at Jane Sampson, "While you, with the Carter Family being so good, would grow up spoiled as a little princess. You wouldn’t worry about being abandoned one day, wouldn’t fear losing home and being without a residence, you’d become the girl everyone in the world envies. Julie Sampson drank a bit too much, and she started talking more.

As she spoke, she gulped down wine.

She wasn’t angry, nor gloomy, she was lucky, she was glad she didn’t walk the same path as Jillian.

"Being a kind person, being considerate of others, there’s nothing wrong with that." Julie raised her wine cup towards Jane Sampson, "Jane, I toast to you, I, Julie Sampson, whether failed or succeeded, it’s because of you, thank you."

"Sister, drink less, you’ve drunk more than half a bottle, you’re drunk!" Bright reached out to grab Julie Sampson’s wine cup, "Okay, hurry and eat, you drink by yourself, don’t pour my Sister Jane a belly full of juice, she still has to eat."

Julie laughed, put down the wine cup, then placed her hands on the tabletop supporting her face, and just stared at Bright Sampton and Jane Sampson, her smile remained on her face, never fading.
