Chapter 3197: Barred Beings
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Cosmos Corridor, Unknown
Without her having to tell me his name, from her words alone, I immediately knew that the barred being BoBo was talking about was the Librarian, the creator of the Infinity Library.
The one known for enslaving all the pixies in the known Myriad Realms and using them to manage his Infinity Library, both in the Dark Realm and the Inter-Realm City.
The one who ran a campaign to destroy all the World Calamity Seeds in the known Myriad Realms and had the entire Dark Races and Demon/Devil Merchants reporting and destroying any World Calamity Seed they came across.
The one believed to be one of the few beings closest to achieving Transcendence in the known Myriad Realms.
One wouldn’t think that all those facts could become more intimidating, but they did when you knew that the pixies he enslaved were actually the Primordial Pixies. Forget the rest of the Myriad Realms, the pixies themselves didn’t even seem to know that they were Primordial Pixies because of the Librarian’s curse.
And his campaign against the World Calamity Trees wasn’t because they destroyed realms but because they were the only cure for his curse on the Primordial Pixies.
Knowing these extra details changed the entire narrative spreading around the known Myriad Realms. It made the Librarian seem more of a threat than he actually was.
Now, the important question to ask here was, how did the entire known Myriad Realms mistake Primordial Pixies for Pixies? Come to think of it, were there even Pixies to begin with?
There were so many ancient civilizations out there that even the Demon Merchant Code was wary of and did everything to befriend. Take Azorheim, for example, or the natives of the realm that matched with sector WS9909. They were all powerful races with civilization data dating way back before the earliest Dark Race civilizations, yet had no idea that the pixies the Librarian enslaved were actually the Primordial Pixies, the gardeners of the entire Myriad Realms.
Or did they know and still choose to stay quiet? Was the Librarian that strong, or did these races simply not care?
This was mind-numbing to think about.
“What is a Barred Being? And since you know that the Primordial Pixies of our realm are in trouble because of one, are you not going to do anything about it?” I asked BoBo, finding her reaction to this news heartless.
“First of all, I am a Primordial Pixie of the Myriad Cosmos Corridor. I or any Primordial Pixie here doesn’t have any jurisdiction in your realm. Even if we had any jurisdiction, we would intervene. Especially seeing how the development of your Myriad Realms was able to nurture a World Calamity Tree that is not only a Myriad Cosmos Singularity but has the potential to become a Cosmic Calamity Tree. Besides, it’s only a few millennia. Who knows what will happen in the next few millennia? Especially with variables like you in the mix,” BoBo replied nonchalantly, while I continued to grow more Calamity Fruits on my branches to keep her talking. “Barred Beings have tenacious lives and long lifespans, but theirs pale in comparison to the sheer resilience and longevity of us Primordial Pixies.”
So, what she was basically saying was, ‘I shouldn’t worry. Everything will return to normal in a few millennia.’
I haven’t even lived a century yet. How am I supposed to relate to a few millennia?
Yes, I spent more than a few millennia at the edge of reality while comprehending the Ice Rule and forging my Ice Rule Stream, but that was different. I had a goal, and the only variable was the strength of will, which I could control. And I did, achieving more than what I had set out to gain. More importantly, even if I spent several millennia, it was at the edge of reality, where time was slow, so in reality, not even a few breaths had passed. Everything was the same as I knew it when I returned.
Though I almost lost my drive and myself during that time, it was still completely different from spending a few millennia in actual reality, where I would have to watch everything I ever loved and knew perish and be replaced, only to perish and be replaced again and again while I continued to live on, with time taking no toll on me.
As a Celestial and World Calamity Tree hybrid, even if a few millennia passed, let alone a few hundred thousand millennia, I would have barely aged.
If anything, thanks to the Viltronian bloodline, I would grow stronger and stronger. And for some reason, BoBo didn’t seem to care about the Viltronian or the Cursed Primordial Bloodline. Were they insignificant in the Myriad Cosmos? At least, not as important as being a Celestial or a World Calamity Tree?
No way, my Cursed Primordial Bloodline turned a Celestial into my Bloodkin.
Or was she avoiding bringing them up? Not likely. She didn’t seem to mind answering me as long as there were enough Calamity Fruits.
I should ask her. I will get back to it when she’s done sharing the information she was already sharing with me.
“As for what a Barred Being is, that’s a being who has been denied Transcendence. No, more accurately, that’s a being who has peeked at the path of Transcendence to realize there isn’t one,” BoBo explained, still trying to figure out the right words to convey the meaning.
If I had eyes, they would have widened from the sheer shock of hearing this statement.
Does that mean that Librarian wasn’t one of the closest beings to transcendence but actually someone who had already peered into the path of transcendence to learn there was no path to begin with?
Wait, what’s that supposed to mean? Was there no path of transcendence for just him or for everyone in general?
The last part, I said out loud, realizing a dreadful possibility. To which BoBo replied immediately, “It’s not just that particular Barred Being. There isn’t a path for transcendence for anyone in the cosmos you belong to.”
