Chapter 88: Chapter 73: Extraordinary Might, A Head-on Rout

*WHOOSH...*

A gentle breeze swept by, and the figure of the Extraordinary Level Giant Wolf abruptly vanished.

It reappeared behind Blood Roar.

Without a second thought, Blood Roar instinctively swung his long-handled axe behind him.

But his opponent was faster.

*SWISH!*

A cold glint flashed, and three more gashes, each over ten meters long, were torn into the earth.

Several bloody marks suddenly appeared on Blood Roar’s body.

Before he could react, the Giant Wolf vanished again, launching a torrential assault against him!

From the left, the right, above, the side...

Attacks rained down from every direction, each swipe of its claws carrying a gale that seemed to tear the very air.

*SWISH! SWISH SWISH SWISH!*

The ground, like a chopping block, was shredded with a dense web of cracks.

At the center of the storm, Blood Roar relied on his formidable physique and the War Axe in his hands to desperately parry the attacks.

Even so, the number of bloody wounds on his body grew, and blood streamed down from them.

Anyone could see he wouldn’t last much longer.

Shen Xing’s brow furrowed slightly. Sensing the aura that was steadily building within his territory, he pondered to himself.

’I don’t know if there’s enough time.’

’If this doesn’t work, I’ll have to resort to the backup plan and force this guy to retreat for now.’

"Do you see?"

Gideon spoke again. "The strength of an Extraordinary Level expert lies in their ultimate Control over their body’s Power."

"Before an Extraordinary Level, an Apprentice Level is nothing but an ant."

Shen Xing said nothing, his gaze fixed on the battlefield before him.

Suddenly, he felt a terrifying aura rise up from behind him, and the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.

"You’re right. The gap between a Tier One Apprentice and a Tier Two Extraordinary is indeed vast. It’s almost impossible to challenge a higher tier."

"Since that’s the case, I’ll use the same kind of Power to fight you on fair terms."

"Hm? The same kind of Power?" Gideon’s brow furrowed, a sudden sense of foreboding rising in his heart.

Before he could react, the sound of something slicing through the air came from above, accompanied by waves of heat.

Gideon instinctively looked up.

He saw a winged Beastman with green skin, his upper body encircled by blue tattoos, rapidly approaching.

It held a great axe wreathed in flames, descending like a Meteorite from hell.

"Extraordinary Level... You actually have an Extraordinary Level Soldier Type!"

Gideon’s expression changed drastically as he felt the aura emanating from the figure.

"Warwick, get out of the way!"

Down below, the transformed Werewolf also sensed the threat from above and instinctively activated its top speed, trying to evade the fatal blow.

But just then, a mass of eerie green fire ignited its body, and an intense Scorching sensation washed over it.

Even more terrifying, the flames carried some sort of sealing power that prevented it from mobilizing the Energy within its body.

It was the skill, [Evil Fire Self-immolation]!

The Giant Wolf felt the crisis of death looming, watching helplessly as the eerie green flames grew larger and larger.

At the critical moment, it could only use all its strength to turn and avoid a direct hit!

*BOOM!!!*

The massive explosion echoed for several kilometers, and even the buildings throughout the territory shook violently.

When the dust settled, a deep crater over ten meters in diameter had appeared.

In the center of the crater, Hellish Roar, still in a half-crouch, slowly stood up.

Not far away, the Giant Wolf had been forced back to its original form. It lay on the ground like a dead dog, staring in terror at the figure.

If it hadn’t unleashed its body’s potential at the last second to avoid the frontal assault, this Extraordinary Level Werewolf would likely have been blasted into a meat paste on the spot.

But even so, the violent impact had left it severely wounded.

*PTUI!!*

The Werewolf spat out a mouthful of blood, its face instantly turning deathly pale.

A smile played on Shen Xing’s lips as he chuckled. "It seems there’s quite a big gap between your Extraordinary Level Soldier Type and mine."

He had been waiting for Hellish Roar’s breakthrough. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have used the Tripwire and then sent out Dahou and Blood Roar to stall for time.

Of course, it wouldn’t have mattered if Hellish Roar hadn’t broken through. He had more than one ace up his sleeve, more than enough to repel Gideon.

However, Shen Xing didn’t just want to repel his enemy; he wanted to deal with this problem once and for all.

Gideon’s face was ashen. He had never imagined Shen Xing would possess an Extraordinary Level Soldier Type, let alone one so powerful.

In a single exchange, his own Extraordinary Level Werewolf had been instantly defeated.

"Gideon, the operation has failed. Let’s retreat," the red-haired woman beside him advised.

"Failed? No, I haven’t lost yet!"

Gideon’s expression turned manic. "Warwick, hold that Beastman back for me!"

"All other Werewolves, full-scale attack! Take out that guy in the wheelchair!"

He had brought nearly seventy percent of his territory’s forces for this operation.

In his eyes, as long as he could kill this crippled Lord, their defensive line would collapse on its own.

In an instant, dozens of Werewolves transformed again and charged madly toward Shen Xing.

The Beastman Legion, unafraid, raised their War Axes and charged forward to meet them.

The two sides clashed, and a fierce melee instantly erupted.

*THWACK! THWACK THWACK THWACK!*

In the initial exchange, a dozen Beastmen were sent flying, their bodies covered in fresh bloody gashes.

These Werewolves were, after all, a High Level Soldier Type. They also far outnumbered the Beastmen, and Gideon had spent a vast amount of resources to train them.

It was only natural for them to display such combat prowess.

But before Gideon could feel smug, the sound of heavy drumming began to rise.

*THUMP! THUMP THUMP THUMP!*

The drumming carried an uplifting power that stirred the heart.

Not only that, but Blood Roar, off to the side, raised his War Axe high. A massive amount of bloody energy poured from his body, dyeing the entire battlefield crimson.

The bodies of the Beastman Squad, who had been at a disadvantage, stiffened. They felt a vast Power surging within them.

[Tribe’s Soul] increased all of their Levels by one.

[Uplifting Drum] increased their Attack Power and movement speed by 25%.

[Bloodthirsty Instinct] further increased their attack speed and movement speed by 30%.

With this triple buff, the combat power of these Beastmen skyrocketed!

"Ooh! What is this power? I feel like my blood is on fire!"

"Kill! Kill all these wolf cubs! The Beastmen are the strongest!"

"WAAAAAGH!!!"

The Beastmen swung their weapons wildly, like a pack of rabid animals, and instantly pushed the battle line back.

Furthermore, a group of Skeleton Shooters emerged from behind the city walls, quickly drawing their bows and kicking the Werewolves while they were down.

The Black Moon Knight Order also joined the fray, initiating a deadly charge.

Swarms of Werewolves were cut down, their blood splattering across the ground.

As Gideon watched his soldiers being slaughtered, a chill rose from the bottom of his heart.

He had never imagined that this Novice Lord could have developed to such an extent in just a few days.

The last time he came, Shen Xing only had two or three Elites under his command, and his territory’s soldiers were just some Beastman cannon fodder and skeletons.

But in the blink of an eye, he now possessed such terrifying Power.

With his current strength, even some Extraordinary Level Lords wouldn’t dare to provoke him lightly.

And yet he had actively come here to provoke him. It was like a mouse licking a cat’s nose—courting death!

"Retreat! Retreat now!"

Gideon roared, then turned and fled into the depths of the Fog without a second glance.

Shen Xing naturally saw through his intentions and said in a low voice, "Go. Capture that guy for me."

At his command, the Black Moon Knight Order, led by Hei, immediately changed direction and activated [Tidal Charge].

Seeing the Black Moon Knight Order rapidly approaching, Gideon was scared out of his wits.

He hastily looked at the red-haired woman beside him and yelled, "Reina, I order you to block this Knight Order!"

The red-haired woman froze for a moment, then shook her head with a bitter smile. Still, she faced the Knight Order alone.

She threw off her cloak, revealing a fair and delicate face.

Her red hair danced wildly like flames, and even the air itself seemed to grow scorching hot.

As a massive amount of Fire Element was mobilized, flames several meters high erupted around her.

But just as her power reached its peak, the woman’s right hand suddenly moved, and a Longsword appeared.

The next moment, with an air of grim determination, she charged toward the Black Moon Knight Order!

However, when she was still more than ten meters from the Knight Order, the crescent slash of a black moon blade suddenly appeared!

It was as if even the flames were cut apart, leaving a perfect half-moon silhouette in the air.

And then, there was nothing.

A bloody line abruptly appeared on the red-haired woman’s body. She fell backward, and the flames engulfing her were extinguished.

"Damn it, that stupid woman!"

Gideon cursed, then pulled an Ancient Scroll from his bag. With a sharp flick, it dissolved into a gust of wind that enveloped him.

Empowered by the Scroll, his movement speed surged, and even the Black Moon Knight Order had trouble keeping up.

It looked like he was about to plunge into the depths of the dense Fog. Once he was in there, finding him again wouldn’t be so easy.

But just then, several Light Arrows shot out from the Fog, as if they had been lying in wait.

*THWIP! THWIP THWIP!*

Gideon felt a sharp pain in his back. He lost his balance and face-planted in the dirt.

When he looked up, a despairing sight met his eyes.

From the depths of the Fog, a Light Element squad emerged, flanking a girl in a white dress with vacant eyes as she slowly walked forward.

"It’s you!" Gideon’s eyes widened.

"Of course it’s me. Surprised?"

A triumphant smile appeared on Xia Wanyin’s face. "You bastard. You actually tried to attack us. Serves you right."

Gideon looked at the young man in the wheelchair in the distance, then at the girl in the white dress beside him. His face turned ashen, and he collapsed limply to the ground.

There was no suspense in the battle that followed.

With their main forces completely suppressed, the Werewolves couldn’t turn the tide, despite their superior numbers.

The Beastman Legion, coordinating with the Skeleton Archers, steamrolled through them, leaving a field of corpses in their wake.

The remaining severely injured and incapacitated soldiers were captured alive on the spot.

At this moment, Shen Xing sat in his wheelchair, gazing at the battlefield as it gradually fell silent.

The sudden raid had ended in Gideon’s complete and utter defeat.
