Hye Yang was right, the people casting judging, hateful eyes did not deserve to give her that look for they were not any better than she was. And if not for now, they still would find Mira detestable.

Mira’s hands clenched into a fist. "Tell me about my husband or you will go back into your near death experience without any mercy." Mira stated harshly.

Hye Yang’s nose began to bleed and it trailed down her lips. She had a wild smile spread across her face. "What makes you think I do know where he is at?" Hye Yang asked. "And even if I do know, if that’s the reason you’re keeping me alive, why would I want to give away the only thing saving me?" A laugh broke out of Hye Yang’s lips. This made Mira’s jaw clench. Fury bubbled up within her. She hated that Hye Yang had a point but she was not going to give in to that easily.

"Torture her. Get the answer out of her whether she cries or begs or bleeds more. Make sure she gets not an inch of rest and have no mercy as you break through her mind till she tells me where my husband is. And if she dies while you’re trying, so be it." Mira stated through clenched teeth.

Hye Yang’s confidence immediately changed to terror at the sound of Mira’s words. Mira looked serious and panic immediately seeped in.

"Wait, wait!" Hye Yang begged when the shaman placed his hands back on her forehead. "I’ll talk. Just tell him to stay away from me!" She pleaded, her eyes widened so much that it made her pupils look tiny.

"Keep going shaman. I care little for her pleas." Mira said out loud.

A scream broke out of Hye Yang’s mouth as the shaman’s fingers came in contact with her face. "I did plan the entire thing and lured him away but I do not know anything about his whereabouts after then, I swear!" Hye Yang shouted in agony. "I am saying the truth!! Please let him let go!" She kept screaming, voicing out her pain.

"Are you saying you do not know if he was harmed during the journey or what your ’rogues’ did to him afterwards?" Ming Tao voiced in a controlled furious tone.

"Yes! Yes I do not. I have revealed all I know, I swear!" Hye Yang screamed again. She was panting hard and constantly switching between screaming and and breathing heavily.

Ming Tao raised his hands up, he was tired of getting information out of her and wanted to carry on with the things he had planned and deliver justice to Hye Yang when a roar broke out from a distance. Everyone gasped at the thunderous sound and turned in the direction of the roar.

It was a lion. A massive male lion too big to not be a king. The lion made his way through the tall hills and rocks, jumping past where people were to the spot the Mighty Cheetah and Mira stayed.

By his side was a smaller lioness in comparison to his size. The moment the lion stood in front of everyone, he roared again before shifting into his human form. "LIAR!" The lion roared in response to Hye Yang.

This made shock blow past everyone in the crowd. Ming Tao felt his body freeze and Mira’s breath caught as her eyes widened.

Her lips trembled as she parted them to say the words that nearly choked her out of air. "J. . ." Mira began.

"Jia Hao." Ming Tao worded out first. He shut his eyes tight then opened it to ensure that he was not imagining this. Then he turned back to look at Mira. She stared in the same way he did at the lion before her.

Jia Hao was there. Completely naked and tensed with a sinister look in his eyes. He looked like he was ready to break some bones. "I could do so many things to you, peasant and I would not even bat an eye." Jia Hao said.

Hye Yang’s body came to a complete shut down at the sight of the lion king. If she thought she was doomed before, his appearance was a final touch and to affirm her thoughts. Her chest heaved and her heart pounded in her

"Tell them the truth." Jia Hao said. His voice carried weight. It carried power without a single hint that he was playing around. "I could do it for you, but that would be at a cost of your joints." Jia Hao stated. "For every truth I say, you will lose a healthy bone structure.

Hye Yang shook. Her body evidently crumbled at his words. Jia Hao did not wait to lunge at her and reached for her arm. "This woman sent rogues to deceive me." Jia Hao stated. He let his hand trickle up and down Hye Yang’s tender flesh before gripping her arm tightly. "And kill me." With that, he snapped her wrist in two.

Hye Yang’s neck twisted and her eyes bulged out of her sockets at the pain that rushed through her every fibre in her body.

The moment the crowd heard that Hye Yang had planned the death of the Lion King, they went into a full blown rampage.

"And during the journey, when I realised it was the path was different I inquired to let them know we were headed in the wrong direction. It was then I was suspicious." Jia Hao murmured, he brought his face close to Hye Yang’s neck and asked in a deadly whisper. "Was that all part of your plan?"

"No! I swear, I had nothing to-" Hye Yang began when a scream interrupted her sentence. Pain surged through her arm again as Jia Hao broke another bone. This time, it was not a joint but a straight bone and she felt it shatter inside of her body.

"Keep being loud and I will break another." Jia Hao murmured behind her. Hye Yang bit her lower lip, an attempt to stuff her wailing inside her throat even though it did little to stop the whimpering.

"And then, I heard noises. Noises that came from the bush path we did not cross." Jia Hao narrated, he did that for everyone present so they understood what happened. "I told them that we should turn back. But the moment they knew I was wary, that was when the ambush began." Jia Hao stated. "And the deception of looks wore off." He added, he let his hand trail up Hye Yang’s twisted arm, feeling the portion of her skin he was about to snap next. "Five rogues of different species against one lion." Jia Hao said recollecting the incident. While that was difficult for him, it was not something he couldn’t handle. He remembered the bites and scratches and constant attacking as they met him from all sides. He remembered how he shifted and fought for his life and it was actually bearable till more arrived from the bushes. Then he was completely outnumbered and they knew it.

There was nothing more dangerous than starved rogues knowing they had conquered a beast ruler more powerful than themselves and who possibly subjected them into being rogues or lived from the linage of the beast ruler who did.

It was obvious that whoever planned this attack wanted him dead and as Jia Hao was in that moment, getting defeated and bleeding from the unending bites and claws and combined man power forced against his body, all he could think about was his wife and children. How devastating the news would be if it reached them that their father had died.

How devastating it would be for his youngs to not properly grow and learn what it was to rule a clan yet be stolen from their childhood and be trained to rule.

He thought about his wife who was currently pregnant and thought she would see him again. And while his strength had an unstable relapse, it was no easy task for one lion against more than ten rogues.

Remembering this, Jia Hao plunged his claws into Hye Yang’s flesh and dislocated her elbow. He wanted to kill this woman. She deserved to die but he also wanted her to suffer too.

"And while your rogues tried to take my life, this lioness spawned and saved my life." Jia Hao straightened his body and pointed his hand towards the lioness that accompanied him. He remembered when he heard the roar, when he saw one of the rogues’ body being flung aside. It was one of his kind. And in that near death experience, Jia Hao used his strength to fight back knowing there was someone else.

It was a long, terrible battle for a lion with many wounds and one lioness but when they managed to defeat the rogues, the lioness shifted.

It was the one person he never expected to cross paths with in his entire life. Banished lioness Patricia.
