A gasp left Mira’s lips. So that day. . . . The people who came to disturb she and Jia Hao at Ming Tao’s home were actually Hye Yang’s paid rogues. . . . Oh no. . . Mira already had an idea how this story would turn out and it sickened her to the bone.

Ming Tao’s body shifted forward on impulse as he heard what Hye Yang had said. His controlled anger was hanging on a thread and he let out an outburst. "So. You. Pretended. To. Be. Sent. By. The. Ruling. Oracle. To. Get. Jia. Hao. Away." Ming Tao confirmed her words in a deadly, controlled tone.

His claws popped out of his fingers and Mira noticed veins pop out of his neck. Ming Tao’s eyes dilated and he was on the verge of shifting. Mira immediately knew that she had to step in. She wanted Hye Yang dead, but not yet, not when they still had no idea where Jia Hao was and as aggravating as it was, Hye Yang was the only lead.

"I did." Hye Yang blurted out in a weak breath. "I am so sorry." She pleaded in a soft whisper. "I just wanted him out of the way so I could achieve my plan." She stated after.

That statement did not help her cause, it only made the lion beast men thirst more greedily for her blood and Ming Tao was this close to giving the order to shred her into pieces.

"Tell us what you did to him after." Mira yelled from behind Ming Tao, loud enough to make him hear her voice. She wanted him to remember that there was a pregnant wife behind him who was disgusted by the sight of blood and would puke everywhere, on the maidens and on anything in her sight if the stench of blood filled the air.

"I. . . ." Hye Yang began. Her body began to convulse, stopping her statement.

This made Mira frown. "What is happening?" She asked the shaman.

"The sorcerer who she made a deal with is a working hard to break her from my hold, wife of the great one." The shaman responded to Mira respectfully.

Mira swallowed. Even though that was happening, it was too late now, Hye Yang had already confessed and she had no where to go to in the beast world as far as everyone in the crowd was present. And Mira knew that it would not take long for the news to spread. These beast world people were full of gossips and they tattletaled worse than women did in the bridgerton series. In fact, they were like lady whistledown and the housekeepers and maidens and the noble ladies when it came to spreading news, the beast men and women alike.

Soon, the old owner of this body, Mira Yang, would be clear of every hate that had been thrown her way since childhood and maybe, just maybe, things would be easier for this Mira who was now living in her body.

If only the actual Mira could see this justice being done. . . . If only she could experience her name get cleared. . . . it would have been beautiful, Mira said to herself in her mind as she watched Hye Yang pitifully convulse like she was having a seizure and hike kneeling. Mira could not help but think she was getting the wrong clearing of name when she was barely the one who had suffered all those years of torment and acceptance of the torment.

"Stop this thing the sorcerer is doing at once!" Mira ordered in a stern tone.

The shaman looked at her. "Do you want me to keep searching her mind? If I was to break through the sorcerer’s magic, it could kill her now." The shaman uttered. Mira knew what he meant, his words meant that they would not be able to find the whereabouts of the lion king if he pushed further with Hye Yang.

"Stop diving into her mind and free her of the sorcerer’s magic. Seeing her now is an eye sore." Mira stated, to her, it was a waste of time trying to get anything from a dead woman. Hye Yang was dead either way so she needed her very much alive to speak what she knew about her husband.

The shaman did just as Mira had instructed and he let go of Hye Yang. Hye Yang’s eyes and body parts stopped glowing and her body slumped to the ground. She stayed put like that for a long while without moving a single inch and this made the angry crowd wonder.

"Did. . . . She. . . . Die?" Mira finally voiced out the question that plagued everyone’s mind. She hoped Hye Yang had not died, that death was way too easy for her. And if Hye Yang had fainted, Mira would gladly slap her back to life.

"No, she is very much alive." The shaman stated. "Just fatigued." He added.

Hye Yang’s body shook upwards and she took in a loud gasp like someone revived from the dead. Her eyes widened and the first thing she did was stare at her hands. Her brows furrowed. She pulled her fingers towards her face and rubbed her cheeks, one after the other. Her eyes narrowed with confusion as the blood that stained her fingers. This made her use the back of her palm to rub against her mouth and she saw blood too.

Hye Yang’s eyes ran across the crowd and a horrified look plastered her face as she considered what had just happened. Her head hurt like someone had pounded on it with sticks severally, her body was drenched with sweat and she felt like a tree had been uprooted and called directly on her. To make everything worse, the eyes stared her way were nothing but venomous and hateful with a desire she knew too well. Blood lust.

Hye Yang immediately understood and this made her shake with fear. She clasped her arms around her torso to shield herself and yelled. "What did you do to me?!!" Hye Yang yelled at the top of her lungs.

She immediately coughed. Her chest felt so heavy and hurt so she knew she should not be shouting.

"You mean, what did you do to yourself." Mira said to Hye Yang. She had a pitiful look in her eyes as she stared at her sister. Hye Yang hated that look. She knew she was in big trouble but out of all the beast people to look at her with pity, the last person she wanted it to be was her pathetic, nearly human, good for nothing sister.

"You!!" Hye Yang yelled, forsaking the ache in her lungs. "DO NOT LOOK AT ME THAT WAY! I WILL RIP YOUR EYES OUT!!" Hye Yang barked, moving aggressively despite being knelt down on the ground. A harsh slap met her back and this made her shriek with an agonising scream.

"You do not get to say a damn word, evil woman!" The one who hit her said, his words laced with disgust. "You are lucky to be alive even at this moment." The man added. It was a cheetah warrior and he had hit her with the wooden part of his spear.

Hye Yang looked around at all the beast people present and a maniacal laugh left her lips. She had no reason to pretend to be the nice, kind and wholesome sister any longer. They all knew who she truly was and she hated it.

"You all dare to HATE ME??!! Is ANY ONE OF YOU RIGHTEOUS?!" Hye Yang barked. Another laugh rumbled out of her mouth. She looked like winsome who was losing her mind. "YOU ALL PARTICIPATED IN MAKING MY DEAR OLD SISTER FEEL LIKE SHIT!" Hye Yang continued. "I DID NOT ACHIEVE THIS ON MY OWN. She kept on saying that she was innocent but none of you. . ." Hye Yang took one of her hands wrapped around her torso off and pointed at the angry mob of beast people. "Not a single one of you believed her. You chose to believe what you wanted to and made her life a living hell!" Her voice was a shadow of her original now but she managed to be audible to everyone. A laugh followed after and blood spilled out of Hye Yang’s mouth shortly after. "And you still would have made her life a living hell if not for today. So please, tell me, what difference does that make you and I?" Hye Yang’s eyes widened and she continued moving her torso psychotically as she spoke and pointed at everyone. "You all are just like me! Evil beings pretending to be good only because she has something to offer you now. Where were you all when she needed you all by her side for all those years?!" Hye Yang took a pause and let her eyes meet every single person she could see from her blood shot vision. "NO WHERE. Yes! You all were nowhere. You cannot look at me with hate, you are exactly like me!"
